Sensational Sunday Inspirations + Candy

Hi Stampers,

Before we get started we need to draw the name of who will be in our March Gift Voucher Drawing.

This week the comment was chosen from Nina's Blog using Mr. Random...

Here are your random numbers:
16
Timestamp: 2014-03-09 03:06:30 UTC

# 16 - Sammy who said: What a cutie. Great paper! Thank you for joining us at Sweet Stampin' this week. Sammy-x

Congratulations! You will be in our $20.00 gift voucher drawing on April 6th

Who is in the drawing so far...
1. Sammy

Welcome to the Loves Rubberstamps weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team has created some gorgeous projects for your Inspiration. Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links. One of the Design Team posts is the hop's Sensational Sunday Sweet Spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to be in a monthly drawing for a $20 Loves Rubberstamps Gift Voucher! We will draw the winner of the Voucher the 1st Sunday of each month! Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments!

As I mentioned last week on our Sunday Post, this last month has been a rough one for our family. We have had to say good-bye to far too many relatives and friends in such a short time frame. You didn't really get to process the first loss before we were dealing with another.

We did have two little miracles that joined our family during this time that really gave some much needed rays of sunshine during the rough times.

This cutie is our little niece... Audessey Isabella who was born prematurely at only 32 weeks on Feb. 20th. She weighed 2 lbs 8 ozs when she was born. These pictures are from a few days ago and she is now up to 2 lbs 15 oz and doing well!

Then at 4:35 yesterday morning I received a call from my sister while I was at work and my niece Trista was having her baby also. She went into premature labor initially last Saturday, they got it stopped and sent her home. On Wednesday she was having contractions 2 - 3 minutes apart and they were able to slow it down for the last few days but couldn't stop it any longer. So I made it to the hospital with 40 minutes to spare to help welcome our newest addition - Zaena Riley who was born at 31 1/2 weeks and weighs 3 lbs 6 oz. She came out breathing on her own and is doing awesome :)

Now we have one more known hurdle coming, on Wednesday my cousin will be admitted to the hospital for a lung biopsy and if it is cancer they are removing half of her right lung immediately because the mass she has is fast growing. Hopefully things will go as well as they can, given the circumstances.

With everything being so crazy this week, I didn't realize I didn't get my post listed for Tuesday so I will share my project with you for Sunday's Inspiration.

This is a card I created for this week's Crafty Sentiments Designs - Spots & Dots challenge and the Loves Rubberstamps Anything Goes Challenge. I used the Nurse Primrose rubber stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs. This is one that I will be adding to the store once I get a chance to get more new things listed.

With Zaena arriving safely and having a few days off before Wednesday, I am planning to first get caught up on shipping and emails, and then will start adding loads more new things in the store this week.

We appreciate all the patience and support over the last month...we are finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel....let's hope it keeps getting brighter!

Now let's hop along and see what the Design Team ladies have in store for you...

Saturday Inspiration with Marcy: HOW are you doing?

Hello Friends!  It's Marcy here and I hope everyone is enjoying their weekends!  It's been rainy and gloomy here in California the last few days.  We can definitely use the rain but I'm hoping that the sun will at least peek out sometime this weekend!   In the meantime, I am hoping to get my cozy socks on, some hot cocoa and hopefully some crafting done today!:)  I also have a fun card to share with you all!

Here's it is...

Isn't she the sweetest thing?!!  This image is called "He Loves Me" by Crafty Sentiments.  I love her pretty little Indian outfit and how she is picking apart the flower in her hands!  The feathers are also so cute!   I had so much fun coloring her up with my copic markers.   It gave me plenty of practice with her hair !:)  The pretty papers I used are from the Maggie Holmes collection by Crate Paper.  I added some ribbon and some red rhinestones to finish off my card.  The sentiment "HOW are you doing" is from a PI MFT set called "Indian Girl".   I thought it went perfect with this sweet image.

Here are the Supplies Used:
He Loves Me - Crafty Sentiments
Indian Girl (PI) - My Favorite Things
Maggie Holmes - Crate Paper
Victorian Velvet - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Black Tuxedo-Memento Ink

Be sure to stop by the Loves Rubberstamps store to see the items used on my card and to see all the cute Crafty Sentiment images!  There are some new releases and pre-orders in the store that are so adorable!!!

Also, make sure to come back tomorrow for the fun "Sensational Sunday" Blog hop!

Have a wonderful day!  Stay warm and stay dry! :)

Hugs,
Marcy

Crafty Sentiments Designs - SNEAK PEEK!

Hi Stampers!

Today I have a cute SNEAK PEEK for you at one of the new release stamps coming from Crafty Sentiments Designs!

This cutie is called Prom Dress and she will be available for purchase on Feb. 22nd:

I decided to try one of the projects that has been on my "MUST TRY SOMEDAY" list and that is a Faux Book Card or Book Shadow Box, whichever you want to call it! I am pretty happy how it turned out...here are some other pictures to show the different sides...

If you want to create a Faux Book here are the instructions:

Cut the cardstock for your cover at 5 1/4" x 9 1/2" and then score it at 4 1/4" and 5 1/4"
The Designer Paper for the cover is cut at 4" x 5"
The Designer Paper for the Spine and inside spine is cut at 3/4" x 5"

To create your book pages you will need to cut:
2 cardstock pieces that measure 4" x 10"
2 cardstock pieces that measure 5" x 10"

You are going to score all four of these every 1/2" to the very end.
To create the book pages - take each piece and accordion fold these back and forth - be sure
to use your bone folder between each fold to get nice, crisp folds.
After you have the piece all folded - sponge the edges with ink if you wish.

Then take one long piece and one short piece and "marry" them so they make a right angle,
sliding them together so the pages alternate. Glue the outside flaps to hold the pages in place.
Add the other long and short end to create your book pages, gluing each outside flap together
until you have a full rectangle.

Place your decorated insert onto the inside back cover and then glue your book pages over it.
To create the decorated top of the pages, just cut strips of cardstock and punch one edge.
Glue down on top of the book pages, miter the corners of the two top strips in you wish.

Then just decorate as you want!

Let's Play

Hi Stampers!

Today starts a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs and this week is EVERYONE'S FAVORITE...ANYTHING GOES!

For my project I decided to use the adorable My Best Friend rubber stamp and created a little outdoor scene with some clouds and grass...

I really like how the scene turned out! I am not sure how I feel about the letters though! I used the Thickers letters and they were plain sand colored so I colored them with the More Mustard Stampin Up marker which is supposed to match the cardstock I used but it was a lot darker than I wanted.

Here is a close up of my image:

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week...remember it is ANYTHING GOES so no matter what crafty project you make...you can enter the challenge and there is a great prize this week so you will want to play along!

I will hopefully be back later today with another project for you for this week's new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge...be sure to check back later :)

Have a great day!

Love Is In The Air

Hi Stampers!

Today is a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs and Loves Rubberstamps! I was lucky enough to be able to combine my Design Team Project for each one :)

This week at Crafty Sentiments Designs the theme is all about LOVE! For my project I took an image called Sweet Cookies that I think is super sweet BUT she is at first glance an image for Christmas because she is really baking little gingerbread man cookies on her pan... WELL...I think she is sweet enough to be used for many occasions :)

I decided that for today little Miss Sweet Cookies would be baking little heart shaped, iced sugar cookies!

You can use this image ALL YEAR long...not just Christmas! You can get creative and make different shaped little cookies depending on what you are making it for! I am thinking little shamrock cookies for St. Paddy's Day...Small Easter Egg Cookies for Easter...Pumpkin Shaped for Halloween...little Turkeys for Thanksgiving...OR you could do the little standard circle shaped for whenever!

Here is a close up of my image...

And the little cookies....

What I did for the pan was in the areas that had the gingerbread man ... I colored those in a darker shade with my copics. To create the little cookies I made little heart punchies and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Then I placed Liquid Applique on the top and then sprinkled some chunky pink glitter on top. I smooshed the glitter into the liquid applique and then just let it dry. I did not heat it because I didn't want it to puff. The liquid applique dries the same color as you are using so it looks like smooth white icing, and it holds the glitter when it is dry as well.

This project also fits in to our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge this week because it is ANYTHING GOES! Always a fun challenge!

I hope you enjoyed my project today and that I gave you some inspiration on taking a look at your Christmas Stamps and see if there are ways you can use them all year round :)

Be sure to play along in BOTH of these fun challenges this week! Crafty Sentiments Designs - Love Is In The Air...and whatever you create for that one...it would also be eligible to enter in the Loves Rubberstamps Anything Goes Challenge as well :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Such a Lovely Day

Hi Stampers!

Today we start a new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge! This week our Design Team coordinator Holly chose our theme - to use lace on your project! My favorite kind of lace to use is the crochet lace, so pretty!

This week we also have a special Guest Sponsor - Crafty Sentiments Designs...so I have chosen to use another one of my rubber stamps that I have not had a chance to get inky yet :)

This cutie is called Springtime Kaye! I love her flowing hair and cute button nose :) This is an awesome image to practice your copic marker skills on because it has very nice wide areas and the hair is wavy but had nicely divided sections. So it would be great for someone of all levels of coloring skills.

I decided to practice my cloud making and grass as well. I kind of like how they turned out. For my clouds I used W0 to map out my cloud shapes, then then added some W1 and then dotted my main sky color - BG00 at the bases, then to do the sky I just streaked the BG00 from the image out to the side and then because my BG000 was dry as a bone and would not one little streak of color...I just used my blender pen to go from the outside in to soften the edges and make a little gradient. All in all I think it turned out pretty good! I haven't practiced doing clouds very much so I am still learning.

I wanted to keep my embellishments simple and I just let the sentiment on my paper do the work for me :)

Here is a close up of cute Miss Kaye...notice I paper pieced her overalls :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to play along in our USE LACE CHALLENGE!

CASE-ing the place!

Hi Again!

If you are looking for my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe, just scroll down or click here.

I am doing this second post today because I wasn't able to get my Design Team Project for Crafty Sentiments Designs or this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge posted yesterday with our internet issues...so this is my YESTERDAY POST :)

This week at Crafty Sentiments Designs the theme is BIRTHDAYS! This is great because I never have enough birthday cards in my stash :) Here is my card:

I haven't had a chance to get this super cute stamp inky yet and when I heard the theme for this week...I knew it was time to color her up! This stamp is called Gipsy Heart. The sentiment is from a stamping bella stamp set but I thought it was perfect for our little fortune teller :)

Now you can't really tell very well in the picture above, but after I colored this with my copics I added some gold glitter pen to her outfit and little dangles on her skirt. I wanted her outfit to look like a shimmery silk. Here are some close ups and a side view to see the shimmer. I also added stickles to the crystal ball, the beads, and her ankle bracelet.

Now this week for the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge we were supposed to CASE one of our own cards or choose one of the Loves Rubberstamps Design Team members to CASE... I chose to CASE one of my own favorite cards...

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by again :) Sorry I wasn't able to post this yesterday!

Ready to POP!

Hi Stampers!

This week I was able to combine my Design Team Projects for Crafty Sentiments Designs, The Cutting Cafe AND our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge this week!

This week starts the new Design Team Term for The Cutting Cafe so we could chose any file we wished to work with. My niece, Trista, is expecting her first baby in May so I thought I would would use the cute Popcorn Box Template to create some treat holders for her baby shower.

I really loved this file because the popcorn boxes are all colored already along with many of the sentiments so all you have to do is print them, cut them out, assemble and decorate! So easy! You can choose from a pretty pastel blue for a boy, pink like I used or there is also a multi-colored pastel and a standard red one too! These would be cute for Easter Treats with the pretty pastels :)

I decorated the front of my Popcorn Box with one of my FAVORITE images from Crafty Sentiments Designs called Welcome Little One. This is such a beautiful image and so fun to color! I colored her with copics and then covered her dress with stickles. After it was dry I fussy cut her out and popped her on my box front with dimensionals.

After placing my image, I just added some  bling, my favorite rose trim that goes all the way around the box, and added the sentiment which comes in the popcorn file, then a few pieces of "popcorn" that is part of the set as well. After I cut the popcorn pieces out I sponged them with a little bit of yellow for the butter :) You can't have popcorn without butter!

This week at Crafty Sentiments Designs the challenge theme is Anything New. You could do New Year, New Baby - which is what I chose, New Home, Use your New Stash...loads of options!

Our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge is an easy one this week too...Anything Goes AND we are sponsored by The Cutting Cafe this week which makes it even better :)

Here is a closer look at my image...

Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Inspirational Blog on Wednesday afternoon to see what files the other Design Team Members chose. I love Free Choice Weeks because it is always neat to see what everyone chooses :)

We hope you will play along in our challenges at Crafty Sentiments Designs - Anything New and Loves Rubberstamps - Anything Goes....there are awesome prizes up for grabs at ALL THREE PLACES :)

Thanks for stopping by today!
