StitchyBear Scrap Recipe Page

Hi Stampers!

SURPRISE! I finally had a chance to participate this week in our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge! I have really missed being able to play along in our challenges :)

This week we have a special Guest Sponsor, StitchyBear who provided each Design Team member a digi of their choice to create a sample for the challenge! It was hard to pick but as soon as I seen this super adorable Baked With Love bear...I collect bears and sometimes have issues with cooking so it was a must have for me!

I am a decent cook...most days...but every once in awhile the smoke alarm is our dinner bell and my brother never lets me forget that I have a tendency to burn things sometimes :) The problem is I am usually in a hurry to get stuff done as usual and like to cook everything on high! You would think I would learn by now but I haven't - LOL!

One of my favorite crafty things to do is create Scrap Book Recipe Pages. My favorite size to create are 6x6 pages. So when I saw this set I knew I wanted to use him on a recipe page.

Here is the outside page with the recipe folder tucked away in a pocket. This week our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge is to use your favorite embellishments which I did! I LOVE crochet lace, it is one of my go to things and I seem to reach for it even more than ribbon. I also love metal embellishments so I used a Tim Holtz clip to hold my file folder closed and I also LOVE cooking and baking charms. I tend to hoard them rather than use them because I love them so much,... but I did manage to use one on my page since it is for me :) I also love doilies, die cuts, pearls & shimmer. And the creme de la creme of my favorite embellishments is Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink....I need to use it on everything I make - LOL!

Here is a look at the recipe card pulled out....

I printed the Baked with Love sentiment twice and then cut out a cookie to layer because I wanted to add "frosting and sprinkles" I used Whipped Spackle and then sprinkled multi-color chnky glitter on it while wet and let it dry. Here is a close up so you can hopefully see the texture on it:

Here is a look at the recipe... it is for Quaker Oatmeal Scotchies which are totally delicious! I will write the recipe for you in case you can't read my chicken scratch...

The papers I used are from an Authentique Christmas set called Festive. The outside papers I used are the Vintage Cookie Cutter paper from the Cookbookin line. My recipe card and the yum scale stamp are from a Stampin Up set I have.

Here is a last look at that super cute bear...

Quaker Oatmeal Scotchies:

Ingredients:

1 Cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 cups Quaker Oats uncooked (can use quick oats or old fashioned)
1 2/3 cups (11 oz.) Nestle Toll House Butterscotch Flavored Morsels

Directions:

Preheat - oven to 375° F

Beat butter and sugars in a large bowl until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla extract; beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; mix well. Add oats and morsels; mix well.

Drop dough by level tablespoons full on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 7 - 8 minutes for a chewy cookie. Bake 9-10 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Enjoy! I hope that you will play along in this weeks Loves Rubberstamps Challenge and show us what your favorite embellishments are!

Hugs!
Laura

Perfect Apple Pie!

Hi Stampers!

Well I feel like a complete DING DONG! I just realized that I didn't get my post pre-scheduled :( Shame on me! I was so tired Monday night I fell asleep really early and just popped over here to check some things and noticed that my post was not up! I am so sorry!

This week at Crafty Sentiments Designs we have everyone's FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE challenge...ANYTHING GOES! Whoot Whoot! Here is what I decided to do...

I have just starting delving into the realm of making pies - completely from scratch...even the crust - LOL! I have only tried Apple Pies so far and this is the Recipe that I use for my crust and for the Apple Pie I make. This apple pie is so good...tastes amazing warm with cinnamon ice cream on the side or cold! I still need practice on making my pie crust edges look neat and even. My husband is really good at that part - me not so much - but I say OH Well! The pie tastes so yummy - messy pie crust edges and all :) Maybe I will get some practice this afternoon if I have some time :D

For my recipe page this measures 8" x 8". That adorable image is one of my mega favorite Crafty Sentiments Designs stamps called Baking Pies. We have these ordered for the store and they should be coming in any day - our order shipped Nov. 11th so fingers are crossed :)

For the two recipe cards - these are actually a Free Download from Country Life Graphics. I loved that it had the Holly across the top  - matches the Holly in her hair :)

Here is a link to the page that has these Recipe Cards and some other cute Freebies. For my Designer paper I just used a few scrap pieces that I had left from my Simple Stories Handmade Holiday paper pack. This paper is from last season but is one of my favorites. Because the recipe cards take up quite a bit of room - I kept the embellishments to a minimum.

The flower is from Prima and these will be in our store very soon. I layered this on top of some crochet lace and the punchies are from the Martha Stewart Branch Punch. Here is a close up of my image colored with copics and a few spectrum noir markers:

I hope you play along with us this week at Crafty Sentiments Designs! They do not require the use of their images to play - but you get extra entries when you do! Also - Over the next several weeks that are giving away some of their DIES as the prizes for the challenge!! You definitely will want to play along!

Thanks for stopping by and I apologize that this wasn't posted yesterday! I will be back later today with my Cutting Cafe project and Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Project :)

Have a great day!

Have a Charm...

Hi Stampers!

I feel like it has been ages since I have been on here! I wanted to say that I am so sorry to be out of touch so much, we have 3 different family crisis things going on right now and it has been just one thing literally after another! I feel like I am living in a soap opera. I am hoping that things start to settle down soon for me - I want to get back to normal life - because I am more than ready for it :)

Holly has been such an amazing help with keeping you inspired by sharing and writing up the inspiration posts for me! I would be so lost without her help - so THANK YOU SO MUCH HOLLY! Also a huge thanks to all my AMAZING Design Team ladies for keeping everyone inspired with their gorgeous creations! You all have been rocking some gorgeous stuff while I have been MIA! Holly will be filling in for a few more posts because I desperately need to get some orders out and get my emails gone through.

So - if you are waiting on an email response, or an order, or a prize from our challenges or blog hop...I will be getting caught back up - I am hoping totally in the next few days! Thank you SO MUCH for your patience and understanding as we are dealing with some very tough things right now.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! We spent it at the hospital with Grandma. My Mom and both of her brother's were there and we had a great visit. After getting home my husband and kids surprised me with these super adorable flowers...

I totally loved them! I grilled some steaks for supper and made myself some shrimp scampi since I can't eat beef. The kids gave me the most awesome gift of doing the dishes for me because I really dislike doing them - LOL!

Now...I want to share with you my Design Team project for this week's Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge... Have a Charm!

One of my favorite things to do is scrap recipes and this is one that I made for Black 'N' White Cheesecake Bars. I used to participate in recipe swaps and I had received this recipe in a swap years ago. I loved the design and the recipe was so yummy and after much begging from my Mom, I created her this similar one so she could have her own recipe page. The charm is a Karen Foster Mini Baking Charm that I will be getting added to the store after getting caught up on emails and shipping. In fact, I have TONS TONS TONS of new stuff that has been arriving since mid April that I haven't had a chance to get on yet with everything happening!

I used the super gorgeous stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs called Innocences. I will be taking a better picture and replacing this one later today because when I went to take it, my camera batteries were completely dead,  PLUS my internet went down for about 2 hours (one thing after another...literally...like I said) so I had to take a picture with my cell phone, upload it to facebook so when I got to work tonight I save it and then upload it to the blog! GRRR - LOL!

Here is what the recipe says because I know you can't read it from the picture...

Black 'N' White Cheesecake Bars

2 cups (12 oz.) - Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 pkg. (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

In a double boiler or microwave, melt chocolate chips and the butter, stirring occasionally. Stir in the graham cracker crumbs. Set aside 1/4 cup for the topping. Press the remaining crumbs into an ungreased 9x13 baking pan. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in milk, egg and vanilla . Pour over crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. refrigerate 3 hours or until completely chilled. Cut into bars. Store in the refrigerator.

These are super yummy...just ask my hips! I am also using this as my inspiration piece for this week's Loves Rubberstamps challenge also of May Flowers because I haven't had hardly any time to get crafty. I am hoping once I get caught up on business things... I can spend some much needed stamp time and just de-stress awhile!

So...if you get some crafty time...be sure to add some flowers, or just use a stamp that has a flower in the design... add a charm and you can then enter it in BOTH of these fun challenges!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and thanks so much for hanging in there with us! It means a lot!

Happy Stampin!

Secret Recipe...

Good Afternoon Stampers!

Just a super quick post from me before I hit the sack for a few hours before I have to go back to work! Today is a brand new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge so I wanted to share my inspiration project that I created :)

This week our theme is Cute as a Button and all you have to do is have a button on your project - either a real one or make your own ... easy peasy! We also have a guest sponsor of The Paper Shelter who is providing our winner with a $20.00 gift certificate to their store! This is a super awesome prize! So just for playing along with us this week you could be a lucky winner of up to a $40.00 prize package!

Here is what I created using the Chef Trattoria Digi from The Paper Shelter.

I have mentioned a few times that one of my FAVORITE things to do is make scrapbook recipe pages and when I saw this adorable Chef, I knew he would be perfect on one :) This is a 6"x6" page and it features a pocket in the middle so I could slip the ingredients list in one section and the cooking directions in another. The Designer papers I used are from the Authentique Enchanted Paper Pack and my "Secret Recipe" stamp is from the Cookbookin Tasty Phrases Stamp Set.

Here is a peek at the recipe cards pulled out...

I got this recipe for Jessica Alba's Turkey Meatballs from the Martha Stewart website.

Here is the Recipe...

Ingredients

2 pounds lean ground turkey
1 cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
1/4 cup finely chopped zucchini
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 cup homemade or store-bought low-sodium chicken broth

Directions
1.In a large bowl, mix turkey, panko, carrots, zucchini, onion, eggs, Italian seasoning, and salt until well combined; form into 1-inch balls.

2.Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning, until browned, about 7 minutes.

3.Add 1/2 cup chicken broth; cover and reduce heat to low. Cook until liquid is almost completely absorbed, about 7 minutes. Add remaining 1/4 cup broth and increase heat to medium; cook, uncovered, until liquid is absorbed. Serve.

You can see the original recipe on Martha Stewart's Website - Here.

I hope you get a chance to play along this week with us! We would LOVE to see your creative use of buttons :) Now I am off to hit the hay... 4 hours of sleep is going to go fast :(

Happy Stampin!

A... BIG... FAT...HAIRY... SPIDER! EEEEKKK!!

Hi Stampers!

It's Wednesday which means it is my day to post a project for The Cutting Cafe! This week Regina gave us the challenge of using one of her spider files to use on a project. We could choose between the Spider Treat Box, the Spiderweb Shaped Card Set, and the Spiders and Their Webs Printable Stamp Set.

I actually used the last two of these on my project!

I have mentioned a few times that one of my FAVORITE projects is to do scrap recipes pages so that is what I did for my project today. This is a 6" x 6" recipe page for a drink called Spider Cider. I was hoping that my cute Stampin Up! Spider Cider stamp would arrive in time to use on my project...and it luckily arrived on Monday :) What I did for my page was create a pocket to place the recipe inside.  I actually cut my paper at 10" x 6" and scored at 4" to fold the flap up to create the pocket.

Here is the page with the recipe placed inside. The large spider is from the Spiderweb Shaped Card Set. I used some extra thick mulberry paper to create the furry spider and sponged the edges to create definition. I tried to add some extra ink around the mouth area for a two toned look. My spider's eyes are a free printable from The Beary Scrap store. The trim pieces on the front of my page are a couple of the borders from the Spiders and Their Webs Printable Stamp Set.

When you pull on the Spider Cider Label, out comes my spooky Coffee Cup Shaped Card that is also available at The Cutting Cafe! The Sentiment on the front of my cup is from the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Web and Matching Stamp Set.

Here is another look at the cup:

When you open the Coffee Cup ... you will see the recipe for making your own Spider Cider!

Here is a closer look at my BIG... FAT... HAIRY... SPIDER!! EEEEEEEK!!!

All of my awesome Designer Paper is from the Authentique - Enchanted Paper Pack... I am LOVING this paper! Going to need some more to hoard ... LOL!

I hope you enjoyed my project today and you will go get some of Regina's adorable spider files! They are super cute and perfect to add to your projects this time of year! Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe's Inspirational Blog Post and see how the other Design Team Members used their spiders! While you are there leave a comment on the post and you could win your choice of THREE of Regina's awesome files!

Check out my earlier post today too... I was asked to be the Whimsy Stamps Guest Designer for their challenge this week and you can see the project I created for that!

Have a great day all and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Lil' Pumpy Kin

Evening All!

Sorry for the late post today! I spent the day with my Grandma and didn't get to do too much in the store, and left before I had a chance to get my pictures uploaded for the challenge and the blog post. My Grandma has breast cancer so I try and spend time with her when I can because you just never know.

I mentioned the other day that this week our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge is also being sponsored by Shape EZ by TLC. These awesome templates are available on the Whimsy Store Website. My Card features one of the new release templates called Pumpy Kin.

I chose to do my card with the Flap because I wanted to hide a little treat inside :)
This template is awesome because it also comes with a version without the flap so you can choose which to use.

My little character on the front is C.C. Designs - Punkin Beatrice. I colored everything except her hair with my spectrum noir alcohol ink markers. Her hair I colored with my prismacolor pencils. I stamped her in momento tuxedo black ink which is awesome for using with alcohol ink markers like spectrum noir and copics. I use the Crafter's  Companion Ultra Smooth White Cardstock made for use with alcohol ink markers because my markers don't bleed quite as bad.

Here is a close up of my little Punkin Beatrice...

I cut her out and popped her with dimensionals, her feet are popped up a second time.

The little crow is a new C.C. Designs Cutters Die called Crow. This little guy I found that when I cute him out with black I had the extra beak piece in black so I popped it upside down with a dimensional as a little wing :)  I like to sponge the edges of my black bodies with a light touch of whisper white ink just to give them some dimension. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things - Die-Namics Primitive Pumpkins Die & Matching Stamp Set.

Here is the inside of my Pumpy Kin Card...

I had purchased this Pumpkin Latte Recipe stamp of Ebay a long time ago because one of my favorite things to do is scrap family recipes. There was no brand name or anything so I am not sure who it is by. I stamped it on very vanilla with early espresso ink and colored the little cups and pumpkins with spectrum noirs. I then just funky cut around it, distressed the edges and sponged them. The gorgeous papers that I used on my pumpkin card are all from the new Bo Bunny Apple Cider 6x6 Paper Pack, except for the green checker gingham on the leaves.

Here is a close up of my Pumpkin Latte Recipe... sounds yummy! Haven't tried it yet but want too!

Be sure to come play along in our challenge this week! The theme is super fun... All About Autumn and not only may you be the winner of our gift voucher to the Loves Rubberstamps Store... Shape EZ is giving a choice of TWO FREE TEMPLATES of choice to the winner as well! You could get this awesome Pumpy Kin Template if you choose!!

** All of the products in BOLD but without the links... these have all arrived and will be listed in the store shortly... once they are in I will post the links in ***

Have a great night all!
Happy Stampin!
