Happy Halloween

Hi Stampers!

Wow! I can't believe that it is Halloween already!! ! This year is certainly flying by! Do you have any spooky plans tonight? It is beggar's night for us tonight. My kids are too old to go anymore so we stay home and pass out candy. It is so fun to see all the little ones in their costumes :) We have a lot of really little ones that stop by and they are all so adorable!  I do have to buy candy for the trick-or-treaters and then a bag of some form of chocolate for my husband so he will stay out of the trick-or-treaters candy - LOL! My son does have driver's ed tonight and of course he has to be there the same time trick or treat starts and needs picked up right after it gets over so I will miss some of it.

Ceal created an adorable card that is perfect for today!

I think this is so cute! Ceal used the Lawn Fawn Trick or Treat stamp set. How adorable are those little candy corns?!?! Ceal used her copic markers to colors these up. This is one of my favorite techniques - creating your own "background" paper using stamps! Love how it turned out!

Last night, the kids and I carved pumpkins together for the first time since they outgrew the whole trick-or-treat festivities. It was a lot of fun! I had purchased one of those master carving kits to try the fancy pumpkins and I have to say WOW! They take a long time to do and my hand is super sore - LOL - but the pumpkins turn out so cool looking!

Here are our finished masterpieces:

This one is Austin's. He decided to do freestyle :) The face is more of a traditional jack-o-lantern when it is lit up but he also carved the outer shell, for the nose and eyes, so when the light is on - it actually reminds you kind of of ET - LOL!

This one is Alicia's pumpkin! She was super proud of herself :)

And finally...here is mine:

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Totally Witchin'

Hi Stampers!

It will be a TWO post day for me today with two extremely opposite projects - LOL! The first project I have for you today is for this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge! This week our theme is Halloween - so we want to see any project that has a Halloween theme to it. You could do scary, creepy or cute! I decided to do more on the creepy, scary side with this Old Hag Witch...

This creepy witch image is from our Guest Sponsor this week - QKR Stampede! This is their Digi Stamp #18803 - Witch but you can also get this in regular stamp form as well. I colored this with copics and then sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Walnut Stain. I cut her out and popped her up for some dimension.

These Jars of Witchy Ingredients and the sentiment I used are from an Old stamp set I have from My Favorite Things. It is one from the Who's That Girl Collection and I think the name is actually Totally Witchin'.

And here is a closer peek at the witch. I drew in some witch wart hair on her warts on her chin and nose. Isn't that nastyy? LOL! Try to say witch wart hair 5 times fast :)

For my layout on my project I used this card sketch from Digi Sketch Challenge:

I hope you play along with us this week in our Halloween challenge! Be sure to check out my post later today for my Design Team Project for Crafty Sentiments Designs!

Video Tutorial - TREAT POUCH

Hi Stampers!

Hope you are having a great weekend! I have some plans to get inky this afternoon and get some projects made (I HOPE) and then I really want to work on my craft studio some so I can get moved into it one of these days and be able to stop crafting out of boxes and piles on my desk - LOL! It would really help to be able to see what I have and what I need a lot easier - that is for sure!

Today is Saturday which means that we have a super fun new Video Tutorial for you from Indah! This week she is going to share with you how to create this adorable treat pouch:

You can really use these for any occasion you might need a little treat gift for! You can just customize them with papers and stamps that coordinate with the look you are going for!  That stunning rosette on the front was created using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics 1/4" Rosette Die and Spellbinders Dies.

Here is the Video Tutorial to show you how you can do these yourself!

This little treat pouch would be a PERFECT project for this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge of A Trick or a Treat! We hope you will play along with us!

Have a wonderful day all and thanks for stopping by today!

Primative Pumpkin Jars.

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Happy Holly-Day Friday!  It's my turn to show you some inspiration.  This week our Challenge is trick or treat - make a tricky card or a treat holder.  I always say I don't care for 3D projects and then when I am forced to do one, I see a potential project everywhere I go, lol.   so I guess I really do love them!   This is what I made for today:

This is a set of small glass jars filled with M&M's.  Some Candy Corn M&M's, Some fall colored milk chocolate, and some Peanut butter flavor M&M's.

Here is a close up of one.  I had so much fun decorating the backs of these that I had to show it.

Now are you ready for the front?  It's a bit busy!

I told you I had to much fun! lol.  My little Monster was made with a tag and banner topper from the new Blueprints dies, see list of products here:

I love this new Halloween paper.  I used it the next day I got my order! The Best Glue Ever is perfect for adhering paper to glass.  No mess, no fuss, and it's not going anywhere.  I highly recommend it.
Laura has been busy, busy, busy adding new goodies to the store!  See the New Items list!
Be sure to stop by tomorrow and see Indah's fabulous new video!  And Sunday for our Design Team Blog Hop!!!
Thanks for checking in on us,

A Treat From Your Mummy

Hi Stampers!

This week I combined my Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Project along with my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe. This week at the Cafe we were able to use any Halloween file of our choice. Well...I decided to use TWO of Regina's awesome files for my project :)

This week for the Loves Rubberstamps challenge you can chose to do a TRICK, which is to create a card with an interactive or movable element - like a slider card, swing card, viewmaster card...etc OR you could choose to do a TREAT - which is to create a Halloween Treat Holder. Now...Can you guess which I chose?

A TREAT!! Who WOULDN'T want to do a treat because that way you can munch on some goodies while you craft - LOL!!

Here is my project...

I decided to use the Cupcake Holder File  and I paired it with the Mind Your Mummy Set. I think they make a cute duo :) I was going to try and get this posted yesterday but I had to wait until I had time to bake the cupcakes first. If I would have baked them ahead of time...you would be looking at an EMPTY cupcake holder the way my husband and children inhale them! LOL!

Here is a closer peek at my Mummy Treat...

I covered the Cupcake Holder with Designer papers from the Doodlebug Halloween parade paper pack. I think this is my FAVORITE Halloween paper right now :) The tag is one that comes in the Mind Your Mummy Set and I just added a spider that I made with my Die-Namics Die Spider Web Set . My cupcake decorating skills need some work - LOL! I forgot to put my tip INSIDE my piping bag before I put all the frosting in it so I had to try and hold it on while I squeezed the bag. A little bit of a nightmare - LOL!

Here is a closer peek at my scary Mind Your Mummy Card...

I loved this file and it comes together so easily once you remember to print the wrapping diagram :) I love that this comes with different sentiments that you can use on the Mummy Wrap and they are already on the strip for you. I inked all my edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain. I added some red sparkly bling for the eyes and the little patches are part of the set. Now I HAD to add this adorable little witch Elphie from Saturated Canary. The look on her face is perfect...just like this Mummy has just snuck up on her - LOL! I colored her with copics. Because she is a little witch I wanted her hair to look a little magical so I added some doodle dots :)

Well...I better get this posted as I am late as it is! Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to play along in our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge and do a TRICK or a TREAT!

Also ... check out the Inspirational Blog Post on The Cutting Cafe Blog to see what my fellow Design team members created for their Halloween Project! If you leave a comment on the post - each week Regina draws one lucky person who left a comment and they win THREE FREE FILES of their choice! How AWESOME is that?!?!

PS...As soon as I was done with my pictures...my husband came in and was like HEY are you done with that cupcake?!? And then he inhaled it - LOL...so the poor mummy cake is no more!

Have a great day all!

Halloween Luminary

Hi Stampers!

This is my SECOND post today! Be sure to scroll down or click here for my earlier Loves Rubberstamps Post. This week is my team's turn to create some inspiration for the new Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge! This week we want to see projects with the theme of ... HALLOWEEN! I love Halloween so I had fun with this one :)

Here is my project...

I created a Halloween Luminary! This side features the adorable Wizard Charlie. I colored him using Copics and just a few spectrum noir markers (the oranges and 1 green DG2) . The bats are from a Stampin Up! punch that I have. I ran the vellum through my crimper to give it some added texture.

This is what both the sides look like as you start to turn it.

And this is the side opposite of Wizard Charlie. This is the super cute Jasmin - The Witch  that I also colored with copics. Both of my images and all of the bats are popped up using dimensionals.

AND here is what both the sides look like when it is lit up...

NOW... A WORD OF CAUTION

For my pictures I did not have a flameless candle which is what you would want to use in these so I used a tealight candle just to take the pictures. You would NOT want to use a real candle in this
or you will start a fire!

I also wanted to share with you some CRAFTY SENTIMENTS DESIGNS news...

I have to say that I have seen all 8 of these new images and you will definitely NEED them all!! They are all so super cute - trust me...you will NEED them :) That gorgeous Angel is one of them that will be coming out :) Starting on Saturday on the Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspiration Blog - you will get to see some sneak peeks and Suzette lined up some amazing Guest Designers this round so there will be some serious eye candy to look at!

If you are here in the U.S. we do carry Crafty Sentiments Designs in our store AND I am placing a huge customer requests order in on October 23rd! I will list the 8 new images as soon as they are released on the Crafty Sentiments Designs website so you can add those to any others you want as well. I have a coupon code for you to use and all the details about the Customer Preorder on the store page.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you play along with us in this week's Crafty Sentiments Designs Halloween Challenge!

Best Witches

Hi Stampers!

Sorry for the late post today. Right after I woke up this afternoon I had to head to town to meet my sister for a night full of errands!

Today we have a super cute card by Ceal for you...

This cute little witch is a Tiddly Inks image. Now this particular witch is a digi stamp but they do offer a couple of cute witches in clear stamp form witch we have in the store - LOL! Couldn't resist :)

You can see our current in stock Tiddly Inks here (including the witches) and we also will be placing another Tiddly Inks order on October 15th for any CUSTOMER PREORDERS that we have at that time. You can see all the Tiddly Inks Preorders here.

I think Ceal did a great job coloring this cute witch with her copics. I love the colors of her dress...reminds me of candy corn :) The dotted background is really cute too! Ceal also used some Doodlebug Design Papers. We just got a couple of Doodlebug lines in the store and I do have a few more to list still :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to watch the NEW ITEMS section in the store....we have loads of new stuff coming :)

Too Cute to Spook!

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Welcome to a Happy Holly-Day Friday!  Boo-Ya!  I survived this week and it was a longggg one!  Fortunately for me, so is my weekend!  Whoo-hooo.   High Five!  Okay, enough celebrating, lol.   For my Inspirational Post, I have a Tiddly Inks Image Called  Too Cute To Spook.

Yes, tis the season of witches and let me tell you, I have a few of them, lol.  I love cute little witches, they make me so happy.  Have you been to the Home Page of the Loves Rubberstamps Store?  Look who's featured, It's Tiddly Inks!  A whole brand new supply has reached the doors and you are going to have such a hard time picking out which ones you want.  Not only are they adorable, they also are a lot of fun to color and just the perfect size for most card designs.  LOVE them!  I was jumping for joy to see them added.
I  don't know what it is, but I am loving the purple dresses, green faces, black hat and straw hair this year, lol.  I still have some Chillingsworth paper from last year and I was excited to see one in the store so I could use it on this card.  If you missed out on this paper last year, hurry - hurry, before it's all gone!
So this weekend I want to spend one day getting inky and one day watching football! lol.  Wish me luck!  I just celebrated with the 49er's finally finding their groove.  Should be an interesting season now.  lol.   How about that Gore rushing all those yards!  He is my hero!  And for those of you not watching football, take advantage of the all day Sundays! lol.  Plenty of time for those big projects you have been wanting to do.  So don't forget the 12X12 papers too!
Thanks for Looking in on us and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Holly

Bewitched!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Holly Day Friday! Today is a Witchy Woman kind of day here on the blog - LOL! Be sure to check out my earlier post that features a Crafty Sentiments Designs Sneak Peek called Witch's Broom!

Halloween is my 2nd favorite Holiday for creating projects and hoarding the stamps and papers for - LOL! I don't really send a lot of cards for Halloween, but I still love the images and making fun projects. My daughter's birthday is close to Halloween so I use that for my excuse to buy Halloween crafty stuff :)

Here is a super cute card from Holly today!

I love the way Holly colored this and paired it with those awesome neutral colored Halloween papers! It really makes the image pop right off the card! I love the layout and the pops of black that separate the layers. Looks awesome and is such a cute and fun Halloween project!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend!

Here is what Holly used on her card:
MFT ALM Bewitching
MFT Die-Namics Circle Stax Set

Witch's Broom - Sneak Peek!

Hi Stampers!

Welcome to DAY 2 of my Crafty Sentiments Designs Sneak Peeks! Today we are showcasing the super cute stamp called Witch's Broom. All the new releases will be available on September 22nd!

For my project today I decided to make a Witch's Broom Treat Bag Holder. This has another paper bag inside it that holds candy corn, or any other candy or treat you want it too. They are super easy to make, you just need 2 paper bags. One you place your treats in, the other you cut little all the way down to the bottom in about 1/2" intervals all the way around. You then lay your bag with the treats inside the shredded one. You gather the shreds up over your stick and then tie with ribbon to close. Then I accented the bag with my Witch's Broom Tag that I created. Here is a closer look at the tag:

For the tag I just colored the Witch's Broom image with Copics and then sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot. My little spiders hanging from the broom and on her dress I just hand drew in to make her a little bit spooky - LOL - I don't think it worked because my spiders don't look scary at all and one has 9 legs by accident - so it is a mutant spider - LOL! When you buy this image it will come without the spiders - LOL...even the mutant one! That neat bat is also one of the new Crafty Sentiments Designs Sentiments being released as well!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out my sneak peak from yesterday if you missed it...Me and My Dragon...and be sure to stop by tomorrow for Day 3 of the new release sneak peeks!

Be sure to check out the Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspiration Blog to see the other Design Team Members projects using this cute image!

Have a great day!

This is a cause near and dear to our hearts and it is awesome that we are able to bring awareness to this great cause and show our support all the women out there currently kicking cancer's behind! Let's get a cure!!

For my project today I decided to have some fun with one of my favorite Kenny K images - ELF QUEEN! I think she is totally cool...plus it is September and that means Halloween will be here before you know it! I didn't make mine "Halloweeny" but more like a gothic anytime card - LOL!

I colored her up with my copics and tried to make the bottom part of the image look kind of foggy and smoky looking - like she floats kind of. I used Frantage for the first time, I like the effect but I tried not to get any on my image. I see I got one little glob on there, but I think that is the point of it - kind of to get it everywhere - LOL! My papers are a mix from a few different companies Authentique Enchanted, Carta Bella All Hallow's Eve & My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Halloween. Here is a closer look...

My sentiment and the pitchfork are from an old MFT set that I had. I will be listing Elf Queen and the Frantage in the store very soon so look for both of them :) For my layout I used a sketch from Jo's Scrap Shack:

Be sure to check out what the other Designers have for you today!! Don't forget to leave comments on all the blogs for the most chances to win to be in our drawing on October 6th!! Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Just drop a house on her!

Happy Halloween!

Do you have any frightening plans this evening? I don't, unless you call doing some dishes frightening...then I will - LOL! I plan on staying home and passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters, so that will be a lot of fun. We get a lot of really little kids and they have some of the cutest outfits these days! Not like when my kids were little.

Speaking of Halloween... this week the design team for The Cutting Cafe was given the task of creating a project using one of Regina's adorable Halloween files. I ended up choosing a printable stamp set called Halloween Time. This file has 55 images!! And they are all super cute too! I chose this one for the adorable witch legs because I wanted to make a cute scene that looks like a house just fell on her! Check it out...

This was such a  fun card to make! To create my scene, I used sponges and strategically placed post it notes. First, I masked off the grass area and sponged it with old olive. I added some grass clumps using old olive and garden green markers from Stampin Up! I removed those post its and then kept moving them up at 1/2" intervals sponging crumb cake by each one to make the siding. Since I am entering this card in the Top Tip Tuesday challenge... here is my Top Tip - When you are creating the siding, place your card front on grid paper to line up where you want your post its placed. You can have them go off the edge a little bit and just line them up with the lines on the grid paper. This makes it fast and easy to make straight lines at evenly spaced intervals. I use the Stampin Up! grid paper which also includes rulers on the side of it.

I colored my witch legs using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers. I also added some iridescent ice to the witch's stockings and buckle straps on her shoes for some shimmer. I fussy cut them out and then had to make them a little shorter to fit on my card. Then I just glued them down and added a strip of grass cut using the C.C. Designs Cutters Grass Die.

My window is actually a Poppy Stamps Die called the Grand Madison Window. It is supposed to have 4 window panes. It is huge and takes up almost a whole card front! So , to make it work for my card, I cut my die cut in half and glue the top and bottom pieces together to create a two-pane smaller window. I glued it to keep the crown molding in place on both the top and bottom pieces. Then I just added some basic black cardstock to the back. I love how it turned out! I am also super excited because we will be carrying these dies soon at Loves Rubberstamps! YAY! Some spooky eyes and a hand drawn spider web in the corner finishes it off.

My creepy, icky spider is from the Die-Namics Spider Web Die from My Favorite Things. I added some sparkly green glitter eyes for some extra creepiness and popped it up on a dimensional. My sentiment is from the same printable stamp set as the witch legs.

Hope you enjoyed today's card! Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Blog later this afternoon to be blown away by a load of inspiration from the Design Team and to have a chance to win a prize!

If you are out and about trick-or-treating tonight - be safe!

Happy Stampin!

Too Cute to Spook

Happy Holly-Day!

LOL - I love saying that! Every Friday we feature an adorable project from Holly and today's cutie is no exception!

This is one of the super cute La La Land images that we have available for preorder right now called Flying Witch Marci. It wouldn't arrive in time for Halloween, but it would be so cute to accent your scrapbook pages with! Holly did such an amazing job coloring her up to match that gorgeous background paper! I LOVE that spooky tree peeking out! Those awesome filigree corners are one of the dies from La La Land too that we will stock in the future :)

While you are busy finishing your Halloween projects - show them off in our Halloween Themed Loves Rubberstamps Challenge!

Have a safe and stampy weekend!

Signs you are TOO OLD....

to Trick or Treat!

That is the theme of my card for our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge this week! Our challenge is to use the Out of The Box Technique which is really fun. We also have a special guest sponsor this week... KennyK so our Design Team all used his fun images for our inspirational creations :) I love KennyK and we do carry his rubber stamps in our store!

When I first saw this super cute Trixxie Treat digi stamp from KennyK I immediately thought...Whoa! She looks a tad grown up to be out Trick or Treating...LOL! So my card theme was born!

For my card background I used another one of the KennyK Digi Stamps called Haunted House. I just colored in some of the white areas and sponged some Daffodil Delight for my sky. It is hard to read on the picture but on the tombstone I hand wrote the name: Myra Mains in white Gel Pen.

My Trixxie Treat panel uses the Out of the Box Technique where her legs come out of the bottom of my oval die cut. I colored my Trixxie using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers and I had printed her out on the Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth White Cardstock.

Here is a close up of Trixxie...

I wanted the background behind her to look kind of like a moon so I sponged Daffodil Delight and then Pumpkin Pie inks around the oval die. They are both from Stampin Up! I popped this panel up on dimensionals.

Here is a look at the inside of my card which features the "Signs"

Here is a closer look at the Joke

The "Joke" is computer generated. The Happy Halloween sentiment is from the stamp set that comes with the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Spider Web & Matching Stamp Set. I stamped this sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

My Designer Paper is from the Enchanted 6x6 Paper Pack by Authentique. This has some gorgeous designs that can be used for a lot more than just Halloween themed projects!

I hope you got a chuckle out of my card today :) Come play along in our Out Of The Box Challenge! We would love to see your project!

Don't forget to ENTER OUR BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY... we will be drawing a winner on Sunday!

Happy Stampin all!

Spoooookkkyyyy Scrapbook Pages!

Hi Stampers!

I just had a surprise visitor!! My SISTER is back from Florida for the weekend!! Her daughter (my niece) is leaving for Basic Training for the Army National Guard on Monday and she wanted to surprise her by flying in to see her off! So no one knew she was coming! LOVE surprises like those! I also got to see my three adorable little nephews who I haven't seen since 4th of July weekend! We are going to get together for supper tonight so that will be a lot of fun!

Speaking of lots of fun... check out Holly's Spooky Scrapbook Halloween Pages!

Isn't this an AWESOME layout? I thought they turned out very cool! I adore all the different ways that Holly used the spider webs and all the bling on both the webs and the little spiders! The larger webs and that cute spider is from the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Spiderweb Die and Matching Stamp Set. To create the borders Holly used the new release Distressed Diamonds stamp by Lisa Johnson which she stamped in Memento Gray Flannel ink, the Die-Namics Picket Fence Die, and the Die-Namics Primitive Pumpkins Die and Matching Stamp set which she stamped in Memento Morroco ink.
Those gorgeous Halloween papers that Holly used for her photo mats are from Echo Park - Chillsworth Manor paper pack. That awesome Happy Halloween sentiment was created by using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Alphabet sets... letters uppercase and letters lowercase. Holly uses the Best Glue Ever! to hold everything down!

I really love how Holly's pages turned out! She is like me in that she hasn't ventured a whole lot into creating scrapbook pages but I think she did an awesome job so I am glad that she tried something new! Be sure to visit Holly's Blog and tell her what ya think of them! She also posted a link to a tutorial that shows how to make your Die-Namics Spider Web Die perfect for use on cards.

While you are stamping this weekend...throw some BLING on your project and then show it off in our Loves Rubberstamps Bling Baby Challenge this week! We would love to see it and visit your blog!

Happy Stampin!
Laura
