Sensational Sunday Inspirations Blog Hop

Good Morning Stampers!

Welcome to the Loves Rubberstamps weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team has created some gorgeous projects for your Inspiration. Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links. One of the Design Team posts is the hop's Sensational Sunday Sweet Spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to be in a monthly drawing for a $20 Loves Rubberstamps Gift Voucher! We will draw the winner of the Voucher the 1st Sunday of each month from all the comments left on the design team blogs! Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments!

Hope you are all having a great weekend so far! I was not feeling well the last few days with my colitis. I went back to the DR on Wednesday and had all my dosages upped on my meds again. Hopefully this time will help get it back to remission. I am ready for that! I go back to the DR Feb 2nd pending no new infections or issues. Fingers crossed things get better! I did make some progress getting orders shipped but still have some to go before being fully caught back up. Thank you for your continued patience! I know it is frustrating when you want your goodies and I am really sorry about that!

Today I would like to share with you a blast from the past from Dangina...

I love when Dangina uses the adorable Whimsy Wee Stamps on her cards! Her coloring is so pretty! I love this one because you can do this in so many color schemes for many occasions. This one has a Christmas feel with the plaid and poinsettias. Very beautiful!

Here are the items Dangina used on her project:

This last week has been a doozy at our house with getting sick and Dr Appts. I have some time off for the Holidays coming up so it will be a rush of playing catch up with the store, emails and house work and all that fun stuff after being sick :(  At least we are hopefully getting over the sickness BEFORE Christmas instead of during!

I wanted to remind you that this week on our challenge blog will be the start of our HOLIDAY BLITZ! We have NUMEROUS amazing prizes and will be drawing lots of winners so you will want to be sure and play along with us! It will be a two week anything goes theme that starts on Tuesday!

Because I have been sick and have almost all my crafty stuff packed to move into my new craft studio we will be sharing a project from one of our Design team ladies :)

Today I chose this Christmas Cutie from Shanna Shands...

Isn't this super adorable?? Shanna's coloring is gorgeous as always! This image is from the new Christmas line called Waiting For Christmas which I will be listing in the store hopefully this week!

Here is what Shanna used on her project:

The Magic of Christmas

Hi Stampers!

Today I have a Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe for you! Before I share it...I do have to say that I am staying on their team for another term....WHOOT WHOOT! I have so much fun creating with Regina's awesome files that I had to stay for another session! I am so lucky that Regina chose me to stay on :)

This week we could choose from quite a few fun files...The 3D Christmas Ornament Set, The Christmas Ornament Shaped Card Set, Christmas Ornament Fun, and the Bulbs For The Tree Printable Stamp Set.

I decided to use the Bulbs for the tree stamp set to create a Clean and Simple card. CAS are hard for me but when I saw the images in this stamp set I knew that they would pair perfectly with one of my favorite images - Birdie Brown's Christmas Elf. The Sentiment and the Bulb spray across the top are both from the Bulbs For the Tree Set.

I colored everything with copic markers and then added some Gold dust in certain areas for shimmer! I hope you enjoyed my card! I actually have TONS more ideas for ways to use this stamp set...I am hoping to get some more crafty time soon and if so...you just may see some more projects from me using this cute and versatile stamp set :D

Now head on over to The Cutting Cafe Blog to see what gorgeous projects my fellow teamies have created for you this week!

If you get some crafty time ... be sure to show off your project in the Loves Rubberstamps Holiday Blitz Challenge! We are giving away TONS of prizes and will have multiple winners! It is Anything Goes theme so be sure to play along!

Thanks for stopping by!

Friends are the Ornaments of Life...

Hi Stampers -

Happy Holly-Day Friday! Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend? I work this weekend so nothing super exciting for us :) I have been busy, busy getting the Black Friday orders shipped out! Thanks to everyone that shopped with us! We really appreciate it :)

My goal for the weekend is to get my ginormous pile of laundry folded and put away so we can put up the Christmas tree.

Today we have a super cute project from Holly using one of the cutest snowman stamps ever...

I totally LOVE this! I love how the snowman pops off the Kraft cardstock and that brilliant coloring is awesome! I love the designer paper that Holly chose too. Such an adorable CAS design!

Here are the products that Holly used:

Christmas Stocking Box

Hi Stampers -

This week for my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe...we got to choose from a few different boxes that are perfect for giving as Christmas Gifts. We could chose from The Stocking Box, which is the one I chose, The Christmas Shape Milk Cartons, the Candy Cane Box Set, or the new Christmas Bag Toppers Set.

I used some of my most favorite Designer Papers from my hoard. These are from an old Stampin Up! set. I let the papers do the decorating for me, the top cuff is the design of the paper that I just traced for the cuff and then cut the flowers out so it looked like they spilled over. I cut another flower out and then popped it up with the tag. The sentiment is one that comes with the Stocking Box Set.

The stocking I made is the Large Size and I plan on placing some candy canes and a gift card wrapped in some tissue paper inside of it for one of our white elephant Christmas Gifts this year. Then I won't have to wrap it :) There is a small stacking that also comes in this set of templates.

This is the side of the box, I just used some more of the paper from this set.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to go check out The Cutting Cafe Inspiration Blog to see what my fellow teamies chose to create this week :)

Perfect Apple Pie!

Hi Stampers!

Well I feel like a complete DING DONG! I just realized that I didn't get my post pre-scheduled :( Shame on me! I was so tired Monday night I fell asleep really early and just popped over here to check some things and noticed that my post was not up! I am so sorry!

This week at Crafty Sentiments Designs we have everyone's FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE challenge...ANYTHING GOES! Whoot Whoot! Here is what I decided to do...

I have just starting delving into the realm of making pies - completely from scratch...even the crust - LOL! I have only tried Apple Pies so far and this is the Recipe that I use for my crust and for the Apple Pie I make. This apple pie is so good...tastes amazing warm with cinnamon ice cream on the side or cold! I still need practice on making my pie crust edges look neat and even. My husband is really good at that part - me not so much - but I say OH Well! The pie tastes so yummy - messy pie crust edges and all :) Maybe I will get some practice this afternoon if I have some time :D

For my recipe page this measures 8" x 8". That adorable image is one of my mega favorite Crafty Sentiments Designs stamps called Baking Pies. We have these ordered for the store and they should be coming in any day - our order shipped Nov. 11th so fingers are crossed :)

For the two recipe cards - these are actually a Free Download from Country Life Graphics. I loved that it had the Holly across the top  - matches the Holly in her hair :)

Here is a link to the page that has these Recipe Cards and some other cute Freebies. For my Designer paper I just used a few scrap pieces that I had left from my Simple Stories Handmade Holiday paper pack. This paper is from last season but is one of my favorites. Because the recipe cards take up quite a bit of room - I kept the embellishments to a minimum.

The flower is from Prima and these will be in our store very soon. I layered this on top of some crochet lace and the punchies are from the Martha Stewart Branch Punch. Here is a close up of my image colored with copics and a few spectrum noir markers:

I hope you play along with us this week at Crafty Sentiments Designs! They do not require the use of their images to play - but you get extra entries when you do! Also - Over the next several weeks that are giving away some of their DIES as the prizes for the challenge!! You definitely will want to play along!

Thanks for stopping by and I apologize that this wasn't posted yesterday! I will be back later today with my Cutting Cafe project and Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Project :)

Have a great day!
Laura

I will be entering this in the following challenges: (will fill out shortly!)

Sensational Sunday Inspirations + Blog Candy

Hi Stampers!

Hope you are having a great weekend. We went to our Nephews Prayer Benefit last night. We had a pretty good time. Tim's brother's band played and they had a large silent auction. I won one of those Sashay Ruffle Scarves. I really love it and think it would be fun to try and make some...I am thinking some Christmas presents maybe :) I found some videos on you-tube and they actually look pretty easy so we will see :)

This week the our Sunday Blog Hop winner was chosen from Holly's Blog:

Now for my project. I decided to use one of my favorite Crafty Sentiments Designs Christmas images called Christmas Helper. I am doing so good this year for Christmas Cards...usually I only get like 3 made - LOL!!

I colored her up with copic markers. I used a spellbinders die set for the oval die cuts. The designer paper is from the Bo Bunny Mistletoe collection.  This was a super quick and easy card, and is my version of a clean and simple design :) I just added a little bit of bling, a few flowers and a little tag.

Here is a close up of the cute Elf :) Now we will be placing our second round of Crafty Sentiments Designs Preorders on November 15th. The first round was placed and just wanting for them to arrive :)

Sweet Christmas Angel

Hi Stampers!

This is my 2nd post for you today! This is for my Design Team Project for this week's Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge! It is everyone's FAVORITE - Anything Goes!! Now this is the total opposite style project from my creepy witch I made earlier - LOL!

This week I decided to use one of the gorgeous new release images! I really love this release, there are so many adorable characters! This one is called Angel.

I colored her with my copics. I  added some Liquid Pearls to create the berries in her hair. The glitter on her wings, flute, and shoes are from my Marvy Uchida Just Glitter Pen in Gold. I LOVE this! It has a pen tip so you can get the glitter just where you want. It dries fast so you don't get glitter everywhere, which is perfect for me because I get glitter everywhere usually and sparkle for 3 days after I use it - LOL! Because it is a pen tip you can write with it too, so I Added it to my Sparkle part of my sentiment and the loops. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Seasonal Sentiments. The Glitter pens will be in our store very soon, in a few different colors :)

My designer papers are from a Simple Stories paper pack - Handmade Holiday - I believe is the name. Do you see that pretty music background paper? Well I created that using the Magnolia Stamps Silent Night Background Stamp that is from the Santa Collection. This will be in our store hopefully today - I will be working on listing the Magnolia stamps & Dies I have in so watch for this one :) It is so pretty! I sponged all my paper edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.

I created these flowers using the Poppystamps Small Blooming Poinsettia Die and added some more of my gold glitter pen for some sparkle. The green leaves is the Poppystamps Lovely Tendril Die and the branches I made using the Martha Stewart Branch Punch.

For my layout I used this sketch from the Christmas Challenge With Sketches:

Pillow Box...BUCKET!

Hi Stampers!

Today is my posting day for The Cutting Cafe! This week the Design Team was asked to have fun with PILLOW BOXES! Regina has a TON of awesome files for all kinds of pillow boxes for many different occasions!

I decided to have a little fun with the Assorted Pillow Box File because I wanted to use a plain pillow box shape with no cutouts and this file has one. I wanted to try and use the Traditional Pillow Box in a Non-Traditional way so I made a Pillow Box BUCKET!! Take a look!

This was really not that hard to make! What I did was cut out 3 of the Pillow Box shapes and instead of closing them, you place sticky strip on the tabs you would typically close them with and adhere them end to end, closing your bucket with the last tab.

Regina's plain  Pillow Box Template is very good sized - the pillow box sides are 3 1/4" wide so my bucket turned out to be about 5 3/4" diameter! You can stuff ALOT of goodies inside it! To do the bottom, instead of scoring the curve on the end, I scored it straight across and folded the flap under and then placed a large circle on the inside and outside of the bucket to make it really sturdy.

You can do the handles different ways, across the middle, make two front to back or do like I did and create what looks like a Coffee Mug handle so my bucket looks like a ginormous cup! I knew I was going to put hot chocolate mixes, marshmallows and mint patties in mine so I chose to make the "Cup" Handle. I secured the bottom with a fancy vintage style brad.

Here is a closer peek at the front:

This image is called Cocoa from Saturated Canary which I colored with copics. I LOVE her! :)

I hope you enjoyed my unique way to use the Pillow Box File! These are so fun to make and would make great gift ideas! Be sure to see how my fellow Design team members used their Pillow Boxes on the Cutting Cafe Inspiration Blog!

A Little Take Out..

Hi Stampers!

First off I want to say that my thoughts and prayers are with all the Federal Workers and their families who are furloughed while this whole Government fiasco is being hashed out! Hopefully Congress gets their act together quickly and they get folks back to work and things running again ASAP!

This week at The Cutting Cafe the Design team was asked to use the Chinese Take Out Box Template. Now, when I first read our assignment I was coming up with different ideas and themes, but hadn't look at the size of the box first - LOL! So when I saw that this box was actually a super cute LITTLE box - I had to change  my game plan - LOL! This adorable little box measures 1.75" x 2.25" when it is assembled!! Perfect to give a little treat in :)

Here is my little box...

I think it turned out really cute :) This was such a quick and easy project, you could make quite a few for little party favors or a little treat for the kiddos during the holidays. I used some of my scraps of designer paper that I had to cover my box. Because it is a smaller size it is a great project for using them up! After covering my box with Designer papers, I just punched a 1 1/4" circle and made a little snowman face. I used sparkly pebbles chalk on the cheeks and black pearls for eyes and then just used a black marker to drawn in the mouth. I popped the face up on dimensionals and then used a scrap piece of ribbon to create a scarf. Quick and Easy!

Here is a peak at the side of my box...

I added a contrasting designer paper on my side "wings" and added some crochet lace and an antiqued brad that had a white wash to hold it all in place.

I love the size of this box! For Christmas this year, I want to make a little advent project using these little boxes. They are just the perfect size to hang on your tree and the kids can get a treat off the tree as they count down the days till Santa arrives :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe Inspirational Blog early this evening to see all the different ways the Design Team decorated their Chinese Take Out Boxes!

Have a great day!

Let It Snow!

Do not think by my title that I am asking for snow! I am not a snow person, a winter person or even a cold person and the only snow that I like to see is on my cards - LOL! And the only time I ever want to see snow in the Winter is when I don't have to go outside in it and I can stay home in my flannel jammies with coffee or hot chocolate :) Oh..and on Christmas, I love a white Christmas. OK...enough about SNOW - LOL!

For my card today I am combining my Design Team Posts for Crafty Sentiments Designs and Loves Rubberstamps challenges.

This week I am hosting the challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs and we want to see your Favorite Technique. And if you don't really have a favorite technique you can still play along by just using your favorite color combination :)

My absolute FAVORITE thing to do is create scenes using sponges. I am not very good with a brayer so I use sponges instead. Believe it or not but the background panel on my Christmas card is all one layer. I just used post it notes to mask off different areas before sponging and then added liquid applique with dazzzling diamonds to create a little dimension on my tree branch, along the frozen creek and for some drifts. The tree branch and the sentiment are from the Tattered Angels stamp set called Chillin'. I extended the letter "N" swirl with my white gel pen so it looked like ice skating marks. The image I used is from Crafty Sentiments Designs called Jasmin - Winter Skates. I colored her with copic markers and I did use spectrum noir for the reds and the lightest green color. Then I just cut her out and popped her on dimensionals. I added some more liquid applique with dazzling diamonds on her hat.

I have had quite a few people ask if we will be getting more Crafty Sentiments Designs in the store and the answer is YES! I do plan on getting ALL of the Crafty Sentiments Designs images that we can carry listed in the store as a preorder. That way we make sure we are ordering the customer requests first because there have been quite a few new releases since our last order! So look for those this week!

This is also my project for this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge which is EVERYONE's super favorite... Anything Goes! So if you have a chance to get crafty this week...use your favorite technique or color combo and then enter it in BOTH of our challenges :D We can't wait to see what you create!

Here are the Copics/Spectrum Noir Markers that I used that I can remember :)

Skin: E00, E11, E21, R20 and Spectrum Noir F1
Hair: E25, E31, E33
Brown on Clothes: E31, E33
