Moose You

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's my turn to post on the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog today.  I have a couple stamp sets that I just have to put away for now, lol.   I love this Moose stamp set by Sugar Pea Designs.  If you love it and have to have one too, just send a quick email off to Laura and she will get this one for you.  With so many new stamp companies, it's really  hard to keep up on all the new releases, and Laura has not been feeling well for quite a while now, her Grandma was just in the ICU and now her son is very sick with Scarlet Fever.  So if it takes a bit to get a reply from an email, you will understand why.

Sugar Pea Designs - Merry Christmoose

I airbrushed the sky with my Copic Markers, colored the cute Moose with Copic Markers and then fussy cut him out and added him on to the airbrushed layer.  I also added the tree on to the this panel.

I hope your Holly-Day Monday is a good one!  The boys are off school today, so it's free Ipad day and running around outside.  I have a few chores to get caught up on and then I plan to spend most of the day getting inky, lol.   I hope you have had a chance to play in our current challenge!

Have a great day!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Friday! Do you have any big plans this weekend? I am working all weekend so no big plans here. Today I thought I would keep working on some Christmas cards and try and actually have some done by the time I need to mail them - LOL! I am horrible at getting cards done in time for mailing :)

Here is my card:

I used the super cute stamp from A Random Fan called Seasons of Love. I colored the image with copics. I also added Liquid Applique and Stardust Stickles for texture and dimension. I created the frame using the MFT Square Stax sets 1 and 2. The papers I used are from the Authentique Festive. I added a metal sentiment that I have had forever, Tim Holtz tag and some ribbon to finish the card off.

Here is a close up of the image:

Sensational Sunday Inspirations Blog Hop

Hi Stampers!

We are excited to be back with our Inspiration Blog this week starting with our Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team ladies have created some stunning inspiration for you this week and we will be back to posting regularly on this blog :) YAY!

Here is my project for you today...

I used the super adorable Polar Bear image from the Some Odd Girl stamp set Winter Friends and it is definitely one of my favorites! I first stamped him using Memento London Fog ink and then colored him using copics in the warm gray colors - W0, W1, W3. My designer paper is also new and from the Doodlebug Frosty Friends collection. My sentiment is stamped in the London Fog as well on shimmer white cardstock and is from the My Favorite Things stamp set Stitched Stockings.

Here is a look at the inside which I decorated as well. I have found that if I don't do the inside at the same time....I never get the inside done - LOL!

I used the same layout as the outside of my card and added just a pop of color with the my Spellbinders Snowflakes cut from glitter paper. If you look at the bottom of the Bazzil Bling Gray paper you will see some sparkly icicles! I cut these using my C.C. Designs Icicle Border die in vellum and then I went over the vellum with Stardust Stickles.  Which will all be in the store soon :)

Here is a closer look at the icicles - If you look on the front of the card I added them there too.

Here is a closer look at my Arctic Night Sky. I sponged this using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Evergreen Bough, Iced Spruce, Shaded Lilac and Broken China. To make my stars I used some of my Shimmer Pebbles chalk and scraped some of the white and placed it on my craft mat. I added a little water using a paint brush and then flicked it onto my paper. It gets more intense as it dries and the shimmer chalk gives it some sparkly bling :) The little faint snowflakes I stamped in the Broken China ink using the two smaller sized ones from the Lawn Fawn set Critters in The Snow. The trees are cut using the My Favorite Things Campy Tree Line Dienamics and shimmer white paper.

Here is a closer look at that sweet little polar bear image....don't you love him ?!?!

For my layout I used the Papertake Weekly Sketch #74.

You're SNOW Cool!

Hi Stampers!

Hope your week is going well. I am not feeling very good today so I am headed to the DR. this afternoon :(

Today is my Design team day for The Cutting Cafe. This week we had a real range of files to choose from...all the way from rainbows to snow! Now, even though I am so ready for Spring to arrive with all the rainbows and spring showers...I just received this super super super cute little snowman digi from The Doodle Garden called Rolly Polly Snow Baby and I just couldn't wait to use it on something so I knew I HAD to choose to use the Snow Word Shaped Card Template :)

Now, I don't have a cutting machine but Regina's files are still very usable by hand cutting which is what I did for this card. I used scissors around the outside and then a craft knife to cut the inside pieces. It really didn't take too long, so don't be afraid to try these types of files even if you don't have a cutting machine. Her files are very user friendly!

The little hat and mittens are part of the Snow Word file. I paper pieced them using papers from the Echo Park Winter Wishes Collection and then added liquid applique for the trim. My sentiment is from the Some Odd Girl Winter Friends stamp set.

I thought I would give you a little peek at what I have been working on...

These are my piles of new WHIFF OF JOY stamps that I have been working on adding to our store...yep...not done yet but getting closer :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe Inspiration Blog to check out what my fellow design team members created! Also while you are there...leave some love for the team and be entered in a chance to win some free files of your choice! Awesome deal!!

Now I am off to lay down for a bit before my DR Appt....

Have a great day all!

For my project today I am going to share a card I did awhile back for the Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirations Blog. I didn't have a chance to post it here yet so I thought today would be the perfect opportunity :)

I used one of the adorable snowman stamps from Crafty Sentiments Designs called Snowman and Friends! I really love their snowmen images, of course snowman stamps are one of my weaknesses - LOL! I used some copic markers to color and then added lots of iridescent ice for snow sparkles. The papers I used are from the Winter Wishes Paper Pack from Echo Park. I love this pack - such pretty colors in it! The small snowflake and the border punch are both Martha Stewart punches and the larger snowflake is, I think a Stampin Up one. I punched the snowflakes from silver glitter paper for added bling :) I also used a card sketch but I can't remember which one now - LOL!

Got The Blues...

Hi Stampers!

Today starts a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs! This week we got the blues! Now...we are not talking about being sad, or the music...we want to see LOTS of BLUES on your projects! I really love the color combination of blues with some browns for Winter cards so that is what I did for my inspiration piece...

This super cute image is called Come On Teddy and is one of the new releases from Crafty Sentiments Designs that just came out! I colored this with copic markers. I added some liquid applique with iridescent ice embossing powder on the top to create my snow. The papers are from the Bo Bunny Powder Mountain Collection. It is kind of hard to see but on the top I added an embossed word that says "Winter" from a sizzix embossing folder I had and then added the Tim Holtz Ticket that says Play. The spellbinders dies are Labels 22.

I hope you will play along with us this week at Crafty Sentiments Designs!

I will be back later this afternoon with my Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Project so be sure to check back for that :)

Pillow Box...BUCKET!

Hi Stampers!

Today is my posting day for The Cutting Cafe! This week the Design Team was asked to have fun with PILLOW BOXES! Regina has a TON of awesome files for all kinds of pillow boxes for many different occasions!

I decided to have a little fun with the Assorted Pillow Box File because I wanted to use a plain pillow box shape with no cutouts and this file has one. I wanted to try and use the Traditional Pillow Box in a Non-Traditional way so I made a Pillow Box BUCKET!! Take a look!

This was really not that hard to make! What I did was cut out 3 of the Pillow Box shapes and instead of closing them, you place sticky strip on the tabs you would typically close them with and adhere them end to end, closing your bucket with the last tab.

Regina's plain  Pillow Box Template is very good sized - the pillow box sides are 3 1/4" wide so my bucket turned out to be about 5 3/4" diameter! You can stuff ALOT of goodies inside it! To do the bottom, instead of scoring the curve on the end, I scored it straight across and folded the flap under and then placed a large circle on the inside and outside of the bucket to make it really sturdy.

You can do the handles different ways, across the middle, make two front to back or do like I did and create what looks like a Coffee Mug handle so my bucket looks like a ginormous cup! I knew I was going to put hot chocolate mixes, marshmallows and mint patties in mine so I chose to make the "Cup" Handle. I secured the bottom with a fancy vintage style brad.

Here is a closer peek at the front:

This image is called Cocoa from Saturated Canary which I colored with copics. I LOVE her! :)

I hope you enjoyed my unique way to use the Pillow Box File! These are so fun to make and would make great gift ideas! Be sure to see how my fellow Design team members used their Pillow Boxes on the Cutting Cafe Inspiration Blog!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Little Take Out..

Hi Stampers!

First off I want to say that my thoughts and prayers are with all the Federal Workers and their families who are furloughed while this whole Government fiasco is being hashed out! Hopefully Congress gets their act together quickly and they get folks back to work and things running again ASAP!

This week at The Cutting Cafe the Design team was asked to use the Chinese Take Out Box Template. Now, when I first read our assignment I was coming up with different ideas and themes, but hadn't look at the size of the box first - LOL! So when I saw that this box was actually a super cute LITTLE box - I had to change  my game plan - LOL! This adorable little box measures 1.75" x 2.25" when it is assembled!! Perfect to give a little treat in :)

Here is my little box...

I think it turned out really cute :) This was such a quick and easy project, you could make quite a few for little party favors or a little treat for the kiddos during the holidays. I used some of my scraps of designer paper that I had to cover my box. Because it is a smaller size it is a great project for using them up! After covering my box with Designer papers, I just punched a 1 1/4" circle and made a little snowman face. I used sparkly pebbles chalk on the cheeks and black pearls for eyes and then just used a black marker to drawn in the mouth. I popped the face up on dimensionals and then used a scrap piece of ribbon to create a scarf. Quick and Easy!

Here is a peak at the side of my box...

I added a contrasting designer paper on my side "wings" and added some crochet lace and an antiqued brad that had a white wash to hold it all in place.

I love the size of this box! For Christmas this year, I want to make a little advent project using these little boxes. They are just the perfect size to hang on your tree and the kids can get a treat off the tree as they count down the days till Santa arrives :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe Inspirational Blog early this evening to see all the different ways the Design Team decorated their Chinese Take Out Boxes!

Have a great day!
Laura

Let It Snow!

Do not think by my title that I am asking for snow! I am not a snow person, a winter person or even a cold person and the only snow that I like to see is on my cards - LOL! And the only time I ever want to see snow in the Winter is when I don't have to go outside in it and I can stay home in my flannel jammies with coffee or hot chocolate :) Oh..and on Christmas, I love a white Christmas. OK...enough about SNOW - LOL!

For my card today I am combining my Design Team Posts for Crafty Sentiments Designs and Loves Rubberstamps challenges.

This week I am hosting the challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs and we want to see your Favorite Technique. And if you don't really have a favorite technique you can still play along by just using your favorite color combination :)

My absolute FAVORITE thing to do is create scenes using sponges. I am not very good with a brayer so I use sponges instead. Believe it or not but the background panel on my Christmas card is all one layer. I just used post it notes to mask off different areas before sponging and then added liquid applique with dazzzling diamonds to create a little dimension on my tree branch, along the frozen creek and for some drifts. The tree branch and the sentiment are from the Tattered Angels stamp set called Chillin'. I extended the letter "N" swirl with my white gel pen so it looked like ice skating marks. The image I used is from Crafty Sentiments Designs called Jasmin - Winter Skates. I colored her with copic markers and I did use spectrum noir for the reds and the lightest green color. Then I just cut her out and popped her on dimensionals. I added some more liquid applique with dazzling diamonds on her hat.

I have had quite a few people ask if we will be getting more Crafty Sentiments Designs in the store and the answer is YES! I do plan on getting ALL of the Crafty Sentiments Designs images that we can carry listed in the store as a preorder. That way we make sure we are ordering the customer requests first because there have been quite a few new releases since our last order! So look for those this week!

This is also my project for this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge which is EVERYONE's super favorite... Anything Goes! So if you have a chance to get crafty this week...use your favorite technique or color combo and then enter it in BOTH of our challenges :D We can't wait to see what you create!

Here are the Copics/Spectrum Noir Markers that I used that I can remember :)

Skin: E00, E11, E21, R20 and Spectrum Noir F1
Hair: E25, E31, E33
Brown on Clothes: E31, E33
