Happy Father's Day!

Hello Friends!  Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!  In preparation of the Father's Day Holiday coming up, I thought I'd create a Father's Day card for my share today!

And here it is...

I had so much fun water coloring with my distress markers for the last card that I couldn't resist making another card with a water colored background!  For this one, I used a background stamp I have in my stash and stamped it onto some Tim Holtz water color paper using my Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad.  I then added some white embossing powder from Recollections and heat set it.  Over this cool design, I water colored over it with my distress inks and water using some colors I thought would make a good background for a masculine card.  The colors I used were Pumice Stone, Faded Jeans and Black Soot.  I really love the way they blended together so well!  I added some splattered ink to parts of it for a fun effect!  The sentiment came from a Winnie & Walter Set called "The Big, the Bold & You".  I also embossed this sentiment and used some Sparkle Black Ranger embossing powder for this.  The die cut used for the background is from MFT called Warm Wishes Die-Namics.  To finish off my card, I added some enamel dots and twine.

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Faded Jeans - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Black Soot - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Pumice Stone -Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Warm Wishes Die-Namics - My Favorite Things
Water Color Paper - Tim Holtz
Black Sparkle Embossing Powder -Ranger
The Big, the Bold & You - Winnie & Walter

For those of you celebrating Father's Day, I hope the "Dads" in your family have a special day and that you all have a wonderful celebration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Marcy

You Bring out the Happy in Me!

Hello and welcome to my Inspiration post for this wonderful Saturday!!!  Hope you're all enjoying a nice weekend.  I'm so excited with Summer right around the corner and thought I'd make a fun happy card!

Here it is...

Here's another adorable cutie from the  TGF Magical Kit.  She's actually one of the originals called "Shimmer Bean" and I was excited to see her in this awesome set again!  I colored her up with my copics and then added Wink of Stella all over her cute outfit!  For the background, I used some TH distress markers to water color on some water color paper.  I hadn't done this in a while so it was so much fun! I also added droplets of water to the background which gave a cool resist effect,  making the water color stand out even more!  The sentiment was from my stash and I just embossed it to the background  using some white embossing powder.    To finish off my card, I added some fun yellow twine and of course sequins! :)

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Wild Honey, Tattered Rose, Tumbled Glass - Tim Holtz Distress Markers
Clear Glitter Brush Marker - Wink of Stella

Have a wonderful weekend and see you back next week!

Marcy

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello!  Hope everyone's having a great Saturday and for those of you celebrating Mother's day that it is a fantastic weekend!  Today's I have a simple Mother's Day card I've made in celebration of this special holiday!

Here it is...

I had recently picked up some Wow embossing powder in Gold Rich Pale and I couldn't wait to play with it because I really love the tone of this gold color.   I  used my Versamark ink to stamp some flowers and leaves from a set called Contemporary Roses by My Favorite Things.  I then water colored over them with some Tim Holtz distress inks.  I really soft colors against the gold.  I added Wink of Stella over the flowers and you can't really tell from the photo but there is tons of pretty sparkle here!  To finish off my card, I added some sequins including the fun heart ones from Pretty Pink Posh.  I also tied some pink jute rope in a bow for a bit more splash of color!

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Versamark Ink - Tusukineko
Mustard Seed-Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Picked Raspberry-Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Peacock Feathers-Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Spiced Marmalade-Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Clear Glitter Brush Marker - Wink of Stella

Easter Card With Love

Hello Friends!  It's Marcy here with some inspiration for you all today!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far!

Here is an Easter card I've made....

I had so much fun making this card and especially with these cute bunnies from the Lawn Fawn set called Snow Day.  Even though this stamp set can easily be used for Christmas, it can also be used for Easter and many other occasions.  I mean who doesn't love cute bunnies, right?!! :) This card is going to my mom from my kids and it's perfect since there are 3 little bunnies to represent each of them!  For the background, I had fun watercoloring using some Tim Holtz distress inks over an embossed background stamp called BG Gingham Background from My Favorite Things.  I really like the way it came out with the soft colors which match the copic colors I used on this image.  To finish off my card, I scattered some sequins on top and also took out my bow it all to make a festive 3 looped bow!

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Snow Day - Lawn Fawn
BG Gingham Background - My Favorite Things
Black Tuxedo - Memento Ink
Salty Ocean - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Peacock Feathers - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Mustard Seed - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Versamark Stamp Pad - Tsukineko
Wink of Stella - Coming soon!

Make sure to check out the Loves Rubberstamps store to see all of the adorable Lawn Fawn Set!  We also have a new Sensational Blog Hop starting tomorrow so be sure to to visit again!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!  For those of you celebrating the Easter holiday, may you have a special day with families and loved ones!

Bloom Girl Art Journal Page by Shanna

Welcome to a new inspirational Thursday from yours truly (Shanna)!!!

I have been wanting to play more with my Bloom Girls and stencils and just really get back into playing with my art journal and mixed media goodies!

So here for you is a fun art journal page YAY! I even got to use my new Tim Holtz stickers.

I have a video that I have of making this page, but have yet to load and edit it. Bare with me I will get it up shortly!

I used modeling paste with a black gelato to create the black paste I used with the stencil. I then colored the image with my watercolor pencils and gelatos. I used gelato around the image only after using some matte gel medium with a stencil to add to the background.

Here you can see the stencil giving texture combined with the gelato and some Twinkling H20 paint.

Lastly I wanted to add a flower here!! It started out white/cream. I went over it with a gelato, buffing it with my finger and then gave it a spritz of Gold Foil Prima Bloom Spray.

So I do hope you enjoyed this lovely art journal page. I will have a video up on my youtube this week.

Doll Tag

Hey everyone. Shanna here with a  little Thursday inspiration!

I created a tag using a Julie Nutting Prima Doll tag.

Her name is Shay! I stamped her on some white cardstock and colored her with some watercolor pencils. Talk about fun!

Then I stamped her again on some Prima Paper - Epiphany Collection. I paper pieced the outfit together and layered her down.

For the tag I started with some Distress Paint (Cracked Pistachio), dried it, and then used the Distress Ink Abandoned Coral with a blending tool around the edges. Splattered some water and then let it dry.

I added my built up image and embellished the tag.

Don't forget to stop by the store and see all the new stuff coming in.

Now onto my project that I created for you today :) When I went to my craft room I had a project in mind that I had planned out and was prepared to create .... until I sat down....then I was like...ehhhh...I don't feel like doing that. LOL! Do you ever do that?

Last night while at work, once we slowed down, I started watching a few you-tube videos about watercoloring with Distress Inks and thought you know what...I want to try that! I have the whole set of distress ink markers and had yet to really use them, outside of one or two here or there. So that is what I ended up doing for my project! I just decided to try something new for me (both watercoloring in general and using distress inks for more than just sponging backgrounds) and I just had some fun!

For my card I was totally inspired by a video I watched done by K Werner Design. Here is a link to the video.  For my card I love Sunflowers and had these big beautiful Sunflower stamps from the Sheena Douglas collection. I thought they would look so pretty done in this style of card. So I inked up the stamps using versamark ink and then stamped them onto Strathmore 140lb Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper. I really like this watercolor paper it is pretty smooth. I then used white embossing powder and embossed the flower heads. I looked all through what stamp sets of mine that were easy to get to (I need to organize and get in my craft room still :( ... and I could not find any silhouette leaves to use for the background. So I pulled out my Tattered Angels stamp set called Flowering Vine and used that which I think turned out really pretty!

Here is a closer look at my Sunflowers:

I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers to color the flowers. I scribbled some of the marker color onto my craft mat and then spritzed some plain water separate and then watercolored onto the paper. The colors I used were: Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, and for the flower centers - Gathered Twigs and Vintage Photo. I love the detail in the flower centers with all the little flicks of white from the embossing powder.

For the background color of the card I used my large Pumice Stone Distress Pad and smooshed it onto my craft mat twice and then spritzed some water onto it and watercolored the background. Pumice Stone, when watercolored, takes on a really cool look...it has some areas that look almost purple and I also had some areas that looked like they had kind of a green tone. So I really loved it. Then what I decided to do before my card front was dry was spritz the top using Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. Here is a picture from the side a little so you can see this beautiful shimmer the gold gave to the card. This shimmer covers the whole card front so it is really pretty in real life:

I decided to use a Tim Holtz key for my "sentiment" for now because I wanted more of a generic card that could be used for a Sympathy card, birthday, thinking of you and the key just seemed perfect! Here is a closer look:

I liked how the key was not really silver, and not really gold but had some tones of each and since it just says "Life" it would be good for a variety of occasions! If you look at this picture you can see the kind of purples, greens, and grays colors that the pumice stone seemed to create! All in all I really love how this turned out! Thank you to K Werner Design for a great tutorial! I do have to say that after watching her videos and many of Jennifer McGuire's on watercolor backgrounds with Distress Inks.....I may have found my new favorite thing....so be prepared to see me do this a lot - LOL....you may ban me from you-tube watching in the future! :D

Now let's hop along and see what the Design Team ladies have in store for you...
