Happy Father's Day!

Hello Friends!  Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!  In preparation of the Father's Day Holiday coming up, I thought I'd create a Father's Day card for my share today!

And here it is...

I had so much fun water coloring with my distress markers for the last card that I couldn't resist making another card with a water colored background!  For this one, I used a background stamp I have in my stash and stamped it onto some Tim Holtz water color paper using my Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad.  I then added some white embossing powder from Recollections and heat set it.  Over this cool design, I water colored over it with my distress inks and water using some colors I thought would make a good background for a masculine card.  The colors I used were Pumice Stone, Faded Jeans and Black Soot.  I really love the way they blended together so well!  I added some splattered ink to parts of it for a fun effect!  The sentiment came from a Winnie & Walter Set called "The Big, the Bold & You".  I also embossed this sentiment and used some Sparkle Black Ranger embossing powder for this.  The die cut used for the background is from MFT called Warm Wishes Die-Namics.  To finish off my card, I added some enamel dots and twine.

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Faded Jeans - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Black Soot - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Pumice Stone -Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Warm Wishes Die-Namics - My Favorite Things
Water Color Paper - Tim Holtz
Black Sparkle Embossing Powder -Ranger
The Big, the Bold & You - Winnie & Walter

For those of you celebrating Father's Day, I hope the "Dads" in your family have a special day and that you all have a wonderful celebration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

You Bring out the Happy in Me!

Hello and welcome to my Inspiration post for this wonderful Saturday!!!  Hope you're all enjoying a nice weekend.  I'm so excited with Summer right around the corner and thought I'd make a fun happy card!

Here it is...

Here's another adorable cutie from the  TGF Magical Kit.  She's actually one of the originals called "Shimmer Bean" and I was excited to see her in this awesome set again!  I colored her up with my copics and then added Wink of Stella all over her cute outfit!  For the background, I used some TH distress markers to water color on some water color paper.  I hadn't done this in a while so it was so much fun! I also added droplets of water to the background which gave a cool resist effect,  making the water color stand out even more!  The sentiment was from my stash and I just embossed it to the background  using some white embossing powder.    To finish off my card, I added some fun yellow twine and of course sequins! :)

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Wild Honey, Tattered Rose, Tumbled Glass - Tim Holtz Distress Markers
Clear Glitter Brush Marker - Wink of Stella

Have a wonderful weekend and see you back next week!

You Make My Heart Sing

Happy Saturday Friends!  Hope you're all having a wonderful day and that some of you get to enjoy the longer Memorial Holiday weekend!  I've been under the weather this week with the "Sicky Bugs" which have been been passing through my household lately.  I'm a little disappointed that I am still having to recoup during his holiday weekend.  However, I am also thankful I will have some extra time to hopefully rest up and get better!  Well,  to cheer me up this weekend, I made a fun and cheerful card to share with you all!

Here it is...

This cutie comes from the adorable TGF Magical Kit.  She's one of the newbies in that set and I absolutely love her!!!  I colored her up with my copics and then added Wink of Stella all over her dress and flowers in her hair. The lovely papers in the background are from a collection called Dear Lizzy Neopolitan by American Crafts.  These backgrounds are so pretty!  The sentiment also came from the set which was pretty cool.   To finish off my card, I added some roses, twine and sequins...my favorite embellies!

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Dear Lizzy Neopolitan - American Crafts
Red Barn - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Clear Glitter Brush Marker - Wink of Stella

Super Boy

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Before I get started, let me tell you there is a Design Team Call for the Next Term that starts on May 1st!

It's a Happy Holly-Day Monday and I have some cuteness to inspire you.  This is what I came up with.

MFT BB Super Boy - coming soon
MFT Small Brick Wall Stencil - coming soon

Oh I had so much fun making this one.  First I cut die-cut a hole in the center with my Blueprints 12 circle. Then I used used the stencil with my light modeling paste on a white background.  I used the Scooper the the flat bottom to scoop it out and smooth it over.  Then I removed the stencil and let it dry over night.  I guess I could have used a dryer if I really was in a hurry.  Then I my Mini Ink Blending Tool (which I love) and went over the bricks with Fired Brick and then Black Soot TH distress inks.  I added a bit of white from an old white ink pad I have here, which is now red and white, lol.  I set that aside to dry while I cut out my stars and the white moonbeam from the Sun, Moon, and Stars set.  Then I stamped the boy on Copic X-Press It paper.  And I colored him up with Copic Markers and fussy cut him out.   There will be Matching Dies to go with him when he comes to the store....and I'll be grabbing one of those up, lol.  Then I cut the black circle with my Circle Stax set 2 and adhered behind the brick wall paper.  I could have used some foam adhesive to add some dimension if I wanted.  Then I added the moon beam and the star and the boy and added the other stars.

Tools are a great thing to have.  If you see a set of dies you think are cute but you don't have an exact idea for them, go ahead and pick them up.  Having lots of dies in your arsenal of supplies really helps when you are creating and have certain ideas or want to do something typical from the norm or what you have already been doing.  The same is true for me with the Mini Ink blender tool, it's so much more quick and easy to use this little took while distressing and I can add more or give it a light coat.  It really does cut back on time it takes.  Plus when I just use a sponge, I tend to get uneven dotted ink marks.  That used to drive me crazy.  So I really like the tool that I can distress ink in one directed and get a smooth, undotted color.

I love this little Super Boy and I have all kinds of things in mind for him.  He is one I will use again and again.  I love that there are more boy images out there now.

Okay, that's all my inspiration for today.  I will see you tomorrow over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.   Be sure to visit the New Items section in the Loves Rubberstamps Store.

Hello Friends!  It's Marcy here with some inspiration for you all today!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far!

Here is an Easter card I've made....

I had so much fun making this card and especially with these cute bunnies from the Lawn Fawn set called Snow Day.  Even though this stamp set can easily be used for Christmas, it can also be used for Easter and many other occasions.  I mean who doesn't love cute bunnies, right?!! :) This card is going to my mom from my kids and it's perfect since there are 3 little bunnies to represent each of them!  For the background, I had fun watercoloring using some Tim Holtz distress inks over an embossed background stamp called BG Gingham Background from My Favorite Things.  I really like the way it came out with the soft colors which match the copic colors I used on this image.  To finish off my card, I scattered some sequins on top and also took out my bow it all to make a festive 3 looped bow!

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Snow Day - Lawn Fawn
BG Gingham Background - My Favorite Things
Black Tuxedo - Memento Ink

Vintage Tags using distress inks

Hi Friends and Happy Saturday!!! I have something a little different from my usual card to share with you all today!

Here are some vintage tags I've made using my distress inks...

So when I first started making cards, my style was very much different from how I create today.  I would say it was more of a vintage grunge style.  I definitely couldn't do without my distress inks and I loved to layer and use flowers in everything I made.  Now with distress inks as popular as ever as well as stencils, pastes, sprays, water coloring, background stamps etc..., I've been having so much fun creating different backgrounds with all of my art media supplies! I also love layering whenever I have a chance which is perfect with these types of projects!

Here are the supplies used:
Victorian Velvet - Tim Holtz distress ink
Spun Sugar - Tim Holtz distress ink
Vintage Photo - Tim Holtz distress ink
Dried Marigold - Tim Holtz distress ink
Black Soot - Tim Holtz distress ink
Butterfly punch - Martha Stewart
Black Sparkling Embossing Powder - Ranger
Black Tuxedo - Memento Ink
Multi- Medium Matte glue - Ranger

Hope this gives you some inspiration to get grungy with your inks!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Marcy

Be Mine

Hello Friends and Happy Valentine's day!   I hope you all have some fun plans today...whether you're spending it with one special person, your family or even just doing something special for yourself, I hope it's a sweet one!!! :)  And of course, to celebrate this special holiday, I couldn't NOT make a Valentine's day card, right?!!

So here it is...

You might have recognized that I made a similar card a few weeks ago....well actually the background was similar!  I just love making these water color backgrounds and playing with my distress inks!!!   I took some water color paper and then added lots of water and some fun Tim Holtz distress inks in shades of pinks and purples.  I then took some water droplets to splatter all over my card and picked them up with a paper towel.  The resist effect the distress inks have with this technique is pretty cool.  You can't really see it in the photo but you can really see it up close!  The adorable image on my card is by The Greeting Farm and she is from the Bean collection.  This cutie is called Sweetie Bean and one of my all time favorite images for Valentine's Day!  I had so much fun coloring her up with my Copics.  I added lots of Wink of Stella all over her outfit and her heart garland to give her lots of shimmer.  The sentiment was stamped onto my paper using Versamark Ink and then embossed with some Ranger black sparkling powder.  I finished off my card with some fun colorful sequins.

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Sweetie Bean - The Greeting Farm
Seedless Preserves - Tim Holtz distress ink
Picked Raspberry - Tim Holtz distress ink
Spun Sugar - Tim Holtz distress ink
Shaded Lilac - Tim Holtz distress ink
Black Sparkling Embossing Powder - Ranger
Black Tuxedo - Memento Ink

Hope you give these water color backgrounds a try!

Have a great  Valentine's Day weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Love You Always!

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  It's Marcy here and I have a fun Valentine's Day card to share with you all for today's Inspiration Day!

So my inspiration came from a card by Kristina Werner in which she made a background by water coloring with distress inks.  You can find her beautiful card here!  I just have so much fun water coloring and am loving all the great techniques I'm seeing out there.   I took some Tim Holtz water color paper (Oh no, my last piece!) and then added lots of water and some fun Tim Holtz distress inks in shades of pinks and purples.  And voila... a fun and pretty cool looking background!!!  The adorable image on my card is by Tiddly Inks called Friends are Flowers.  I had so much fun coloring up cute Wryn with my Copics.  I also added some polka dots to her dress with my white gel pen and then Wink of Stella all over her outfit  and heart flowers.  The sentiment was stamped onto my paper using Versamark Ink and then embossed with some white embossing powder from my stash.  Of course, I couldn't resist scattering some sequins all over my card!

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Friends are Flowers - Tiddly Inks
Seedless Preserves - Tim Holtz distress ink
Picked Raspberry - Tim Holtz distress ink
Spun Sugar - Tim Holtz distress ink
