Otterly Great Birthday

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's a fine Holly-Day Monday and my turn to post.  Today I am sharing a Video Tutorial I came across on Happy Thoughts and Inkspots.  I just happened to have that Grunge Stamp as well, lol.

Lawn Fawn - Year Five
Another yellow to substitute for Distress Ink - Squeezed Lemonade
Water color Paper
White Embossing Powder

The Newest Lawn Fawn has not been added to The Loves Rubberstamp Store just yet.  Laura is plugging away to get caught up on Shipping Orders, and then will tackle the emails she is behind on, and then when things start to balance out, she will be adding the newest items.  In the mean time, if you would like to order this, feel free to shoot her an email and she will get back to you as soon as she can.

The first time I tried this technique, I had a piece of PTI heavyweight card stock and the colors were very bold.  So I went to my stash and I did have some water color paper.  So I pulled it out and tried a lighter touch and yes, the paper made all the difference in the world.  I think I'll keep working on the technique as I do love the effect.

I hope you all have a great day!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello Friends!  Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!  In preparation of the Father's Day Holiday coming up, I thought I'd create a Father's Day card for my share today!

And here it is...

I had so much fun water coloring with my distress markers for the last card that I couldn't resist making another card with a water colored background!  For this one, I used a background stamp I have in my stash and stamped it onto some Tim Holtz water color paper using my Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad.  I then added some white embossing powder from Recollections and heat set it.  Over this cool design, I water colored over it with my distress inks and water using some colors I thought would make a good background for a masculine card.  The colors I used were Pumice Stone, Faded Jeans and Black Soot.  I really love the way they blended together so well!  I added some splattered ink to parts of it for a fun effect!  The sentiment came from a Winnie & Walter Set called "The Big, the Bold & You".  I also embossed this sentiment and used some Sparkle Black Ranger embossing powder for this.  The die cut used for the background is from MFT called Warm Wishes Die-Namics.  To finish off my card, I added some enamel dots and twine.

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Faded Jeans - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Black Soot - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Pumice Stone -Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Warm Wishes Die-Namics - My Favorite Things
Water Color Paper - Tim Holtz
Black Sparkle Embossing Powder -Ranger
The Big, the Bold & You - Winnie & Walter

For those of you celebrating Father's Day, I hope the "Dads" in your family have a special day and that you all have a wonderful celebration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Marcy

Blue Skies Ahead

Hello and welcome to a new Thursday inspiration with Shanna.

I created this quick and simple card to share using a fun stamp set from My Favorite Things.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum and wrapped the vellum around the edges.

Then I added a flower I made using the sunflower die and inked the edges and used a blue button with jute string on the top.

Anything Goes Challenge + DESIGN TEAM CALL

Hi Stampers!

Today we start our FAVORITE Loves Rubberstamps Challenge.... Anything Goes! We are also having a Loves Rubberstamps Design team call. You can see all the details and also how to apply in this by clicking here to go to the blog post.

Here is my project for the challenge...

I created the background using Tim Holtz Distress inks in Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves, and Salty Ocean. I then used some Ranger Texture paste and a Hero Arts Stencil called Stars Pattern and created the raised stairs. This setncil also has some tiny dots mixed in with the star shapes too. After that dried I mixed some water and Perfect Pearls on my craft sheet and then splattered it using a paint brush onto the background.

I had been itching to use this cute Groovin' image from the Little Darlings Rubber Stamps Dollhouse Collection and I thought she would look cute against this background since she has little stars in her eyelids :) I just love her she is so fun! I colored her with copics, fussy cut her and popped her up on dimensionals.

The sentiments on my card are from the Avery Elle Stamp set called Written In The Stars. This will be listed in our store soon ... I am currently working on listing the Avery Elle line of stamps and dies. I used some kool tak clear foam under the gems to attach my vellum piece.

Here is a look at how I did the inside of the card using another sentiment from the Avery Elle set...

Be sure to keep checking our new items section in the store... I will be adding the perfect pearls, the hero arts stencil, texture paste and loads more very soon!

Hope to see you play along in our challenge and try out for our Design Team as well!!

Thanks

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's my day to show you some Inspiration.  I actually made a card from a card that inspired me.

Here is Kimberly Crawford's card that inspired me.   And she made another one as well.   And so did I.

I didn't focus so much on triangle pattern with my ink on this one, which was my first one, but I did try Kimberly's tutorial on the first one shown and I really like the triangle within the triangle pattern, it just creates a better eye flow.    So like Kimberly, I heat embossed with white embossing powder and turned my distress inks upside down on my craft sheet and then picked up the ink with a paint brush from there.  I wiped off with a paper towel and then added a velum stitched traditional tag.  Added the die-cut Thanks and then added a few sequins.

These were a lot of fun to make!

I hope you will join us in our Current Blog Challenge and you will want to head on over to the store to check out the New Items that Laura has added!  I'm so excited about the Wink of Stella in the store!

Thanks for Looking in on me.

Holly

Sensational Sunday Inspirations

Good Morning Stampers!

Welcome to the Loves Rubberstamps weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team has created some gorgeous projects for your Inspiration. Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links. This has been a busy week here for me. My sister Leah flew in from Florida to visit with my Grandma. The only day I was able to spend with her while she was here was on Thursday. She flew back yesterday already. It was a short but nice visit.

Grandma had Dr. Appts on Friday which is an entire day event. We were talking about her physical therapy and possibly her needing to go to a skilled care facility in order to improve. She doesn't always like doing the exercises like she is supposed to. So we talked about some options and the different nursing homes that would be options.

Tonight I work a 12 hour shift - 7pm - 7am and I plan on spending the day before work getting orders packed and dropped off at the post office on my way to work. I am hoping once I get the orders out to get some crafty time tomorrow to join in our new challenge on Tuesday but we will have to see! Cross your fingers for me :)

Today I have a blast from the past from Lydia...

I think this is adora-bull! LOL! This cutie is a stamp set from SugarPea Designs. I will be adding more of these stamps to the store. They are listed as Preorder right now but our first order will be coming in this week so we will have some in stock. We will them be placing orders every two weeks for the preorders. I love how Lydia colored this with her copics and check out the groud! LOVE that look and the texture it creates.

The background Lydia simply used Distress Ink in Festive Berries and then added some water splashes! What a quick and easy way to create a really cool looking background. LOVE it!

Here are the items Lydia used on her card:

Doll Tag

Hey everyone. Shanna here with a  little Thursday inspiration!

I created a tag using a Julie Nutting Prima Doll tag.

Her name is Shay! I stamped her on some white cardstock and colored her with some watercolor pencils. Talk about fun!

Then I stamped her again on some Prima Paper - Epiphany Collection. I paper pieced the outfit together and layered her down.

For the tag I started with some Distress Paint (Cracked Pistachio), dried it, and then used the Distress Ink Abandoned Coral with a blending tool around the edges. Splattered some water and then let it dry.

I added my built up image and embellished the tag.

Don't forget to stop by the store and see all the new stuff coming in.

Love You!

Happy Saturday Friends! It's Marcy with a card share for you all today!  I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!

Here is my card...

Today, I have created a fun Valentine's card using the adorable Pure Innocence image called "Love You with All My Heart" by My Favorite things.  It's been a while since I've used one of these darling images and I had so much fun creating with this cutie! I colored her up with my copic markers and then paper pieced her dress and the heart she is is holding.  I also added some Wink of Stella to her shoes and her hair clip.  The fun papers I used are from Doodlebug Design called "Sweetheart".  These papers are definitely one of my favorite collections for V-Day and I just love them!  I created a cute heart border on the bottom using my  Martha Stewart heart punch border.  Now for the sentiment "Love You", this was created using the My Favorite Things new DIE-NAMICS set called Love & Adore You Die Set.  I  think it's such a fun and different look to use die cuts for sentiments rather than just stamping them which I tend to do.  To finish off my card, I added some scattered sequins and a pink heart button from my stash with some rope twine tied in a bow

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Love You With All My Heart - Pure Innocence Collection; My Favorite Things
Friends are Flowers - Tiddly Inks
Sweetheart - Doodlebug Design
Spun Sugar - Tim Holtz distress ink
Heart Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Black Tuxedo - Memento Ink

Make sure to check out the Loves Rubberstamps store for all of the awesome stamps and Die-Namics by My Favorite Things which have just been recently added!

Hope you all enjoyed my V-Day card and have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Marcy

Love You Always!

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  It's Marcy here and I have a fun Valentine's Day card to share with you all for today's Inspiration Day!

Here is my card...

So my inspiration came from a card by Kristina Werner in which she made a background by water coloring with distress inks.  You can find her beautiful card here!  I just have so much fun water coloring and am loving all the great techniques I'm seeing out there.   I took some Tim Holtz water color paper (Oh no, my last piece!) and then added lots of water and some fun Tim Holtz distress inks in shades of pinks and purples.  And voila... a fun and pretty cool looking background!!!  The adorable image on my card is by Tiddly Inks called Friends are Flowers.  I had so much fun coloring up cute Wryn with my Copics.  I also added some polka dots to her dress with my white gel pen and then Wink of Stella all over her outfit  and heart flowers.  The sentiment was stamped onto my paper using Versamark Ink and then embossed with some white embossing powder from my stash.  Of course, I couldn't resist scattering some sequins all over my card!

Here is the full supply list for my card:
Friends are Flowers - Tiddly Inks
Seedless Preserves - Tim Holtz distress ink
Picked Raspberry - Tim Holtz distress ink
Spun Sugar - Tim Holtz distress ink
Shaded Lilac - Tim Holtz distress ink
Water Color paper - Tim Holtz
Black Tuxedo - Memento Ink

Hope my card gives you some inspiration to try some water coloring and playing with distress inks!

Enjoy your weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Marcy
