Before you hop along with the Design Team Ladies I wanted to let you know that we are doing our FIRST FACEBOOK PRIZE GIVEAWAY  this week! We are giving away a set of the Tropical Gelatos Color Kit:

We have also posted a DT call for our January through April Session and would love to have you apply so check out the details! We will have the call open through November 18th.

Now onto my project that I created for you today :) When I went to my craft room I had a project in mind that I had planned out and was prepared to create .... until I sat down....then I was like...ehhhh...I don't feel like doing that. LOL! Do you ever do that?

Last night while at work, once we slowed down, I started watching a few you-tube videos about watercoloring with Distress Inks and thought you know what...I want to try that! I have the whole set of distress ink markers and had yet to really use them, outside of one or two here or there. So that is what I ended up doing for my project! I just decided to try something new for me (both watercoloring in general and using distress inks for more than just sponging backgrounds) and I just had some fun!

For my card I was totally inspired by a video I watched done by K Werner Design. Here is a link to the video.  For my card I love Sunflowers and had these big beautiful Sunflower stamps from the Sheena Douglas collection. I thought they would look so pretty done in this style of card. So I inked up the stamps using versamark ink and then stamped them onto Strathmore 140lb Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper. I really like this watercolor paper it is pretty smooth. I then used white embossing powder and embossed the flower heads. I looked all through what stamp sets of mine that were easy to get to (I need to organize and get in my craft room still :( ... and I could not find any silhouette leaves to use for the background. So I pulled out my Tattered Angels stamp set called Flowering Vine and used that which I think turned out really pretty!

Here is a closer look at my Sunflowers:

I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers to color the flowers. I scribbled some of the marker color onto my craft mat and then spritzed some plain water separate and then watercolored onto the paper. The colors I used were: Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, and for the flower centers - Gathered Twigs and Vintage Photo. I love the detail in the flower centers with all the little flicks of white from the embossing powder.

For the background color of the card I used my large Pumice Stone Distress Pad and smooshed it onto my craft mat twice and then spritzed some water onto it and watercolored the background. Pumice Stone, when watercolored, takes on a really cool look...it has some areas that look almost purple and I also had some areas that looked like they had kind of a green tone. So I really loved it. Then what I decided to do before my card front was dry was spritz the top using Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. Here is a picture from the side a little so you can see this beautiful shimmer the gold gave to the card. This shimmer covers the whole card front so it is really pretty in real life:

I decided to use a Tim Holtz key for my "sentiment" for now because I wanted more of a generic card that could be used for a Sympathy card, birthday, thinking of you and the key just seemed perfect! Here is a closer look:

I liked how the key was not really silver, and not really gold but had some tones of each and since it just says "Life" it would be good for a variety of occasions! If you look at this picture you can see the kind of purples, greens, and grays colors that the pumice stone seemed to create! All in all I really love how this turned out! Thank you to K Werner Design for a great tutorial! I do have to say that after watching her videos and many of Jennifer McGuire's on watercolor backgrounds with Distress Inks.....I may have found my new favorite thing....so be prepared to see me do this a lot - LOL....you may ban me from you-tube watching in the future! :D

Now let's hop along and see what the Design Team ladies have in store for you...

BOY ... OH BOY!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Holly-Day Friday! I hope you have an exciting weekend planned!  Tonight we are supposed to go out to eat with Tim's Sister and Brother to Olive Garden. I have never ate at an Olive Garden so I was looking at their menu online to try and see what I "should" eat that isn't too horrible for me - LOL! Trying to make better meal choices eating out is tough sometimes! They do have a "Lighter Side Menu" that has some pretty yummy sounding things so that helps :)

I am glad that today FINALLY arrived because I have to tell you...Holly had created her super cute card that I am sharing with you today a couple of weeks ago and it has been sitting in my Holly folder torturing me because it is so darn cute!! I wanted to share it right away and not have to wait - LOL! So finally ...I can share it!! YAY!

Isn't this the most adorable little boy car EVER??? I love this image! This is the Morehead Boy stamp set from Crafter's Companion. This line is retiring from Crafter's Companion so if you want them...get them ASAP! Not sure how much longer we are going to have them!

Holly did such an amazing job coloring this cutie up! I love the designer papers, the layout...EVERYTHING! The inside is super cute too, especially with the Barb Wire Fence Die-Namics!

Here is a list of what Holly used on her card:

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to visit Holly's Blog and let her know how adorable this little guy is!
Have a great day!

Sensational Sunday & Monday Inspirations, Catch Up + Candy!

Hi Stampers!

I apologize for being the world's most horrible blogger this week. It has been a little crazy here the last week and there is just not enough hours in the day sometimes! I think we all have those weeks at one point or another! This coming week is also going to be a busy one because my Grandma is having her breast cancer surgery Tuesday and I have to take her up to the hospital that morning. We have to be there at 5am because she is slated to be the first surgery of the day and they will need to do their prep and get her ready.  Here is hoping this go smoothly and well!!

This Sensational Sunday Inspirations Post (even though it is super late and posting early Monday Morning!) will have a few bonus cards...Ceal's from Thursday, and Jacqueline's from Saturday. I am also going to include our amazing project for our Monday Inspirations from Olivia in here too because I am not sure if I will have the chance to post later or not today! And it is now Monday anyway :)

AND...super exciting news!! Ivonne Hernandez will be joining our Design Team as a Regular Designer!! YAY!!! We are so excited to have her back on the team after her Guest Design spot!! She will also be showing her Inspiration projects on our Sunday posts as well!!

Sensational Sunday Inspirations + Blog Candy

Hi Stampers!

Hope your weekend is going well so far! Our weather is super cruddy today! We have had freezing rain off and on since 3am this morning. It is like an ice skating rink outside! I felt bad for our puppies because I let them out to go potty and when they jumped on the stairs their feet went out from under them and they face planted because they were not expecting the slick! LOL! It is the perfect day to stay home and get some crafting done today :) I have TONS of projects running through my brain so I hope I can focus and at least get ONE finished - LOL! The hard part will be what to make first :D

Busy Doing Nothing...

Hi Stampers!

Hope your weekend is going well so far! I have a busy weekend planned of working in the store, getting all my tax stuff ready for the accountant or as close as I can, doing a little crafting AND doing some housecleaning only because Holly is making me :D Just kidding...I need to clean because my clutter is driving me nuts! LOL!

I wanted to let you know that if you tried to visit the blog or the store today and you use Google Chrome, you may have got a malware warning. Apparently every website that had the Stamping Top 50 badge on it was triggering that warning. Rest assured that it was not our site and I have removed the Stamping Top 50 badge and now seems to be working fine.

Also... if you are a Saturated Canary fan... Krista is giving away one of her super cute digi stamps that is perfect for Valentine's Day today on her blog. It started today at 3pm EST and will only be available for 24 hours! I got mine and it is super cute.... click here to get your's!

It is time for our Saturday Stunner from Jacqueline! She has a real beauty for you today too!

This is GORGEOUS! Makes me yearn for warm summer days - LOL! This adorable image is called Busy Doing Nothing by Sheena Douglass from Crafter's Companion. Jacqueline colored this using her copic markers. I think she did a beautiful job, almost reminds me of watercolors. I love the warm oranges and the pretty polka dot ribbon! That sentiment is a beautiful touch!

Hope you all have an amazing weekend! Be sure to play along in our Inspiration Challenge this week! The entries we have had so far are all AWESOME! they have been doing an excellent job at using the inspiration pieces they choose! Check it out here!

Happy Stampin!

Now on to today's blast of inspiration from our talented Design Team! Here we go....

Ceal Pritchett - Thursday's Inspiration

Ceal always does a beautiful job with clean and simple cards. I love the purples that Ceal chose for her card and the different layers of snowflakes are so pretty!

Holly Flores - Friday's Inspiration

Holly has made a vow to herself to create more scrapbook pages (something I desperately need to do as well!) and she has been doing an AWESOME job! This is so adorable! I love the layout and the little sprinkling of tools that Holly placed around her page. Her little cubscout image is perfect for this page's theme! This is a great example of how to use stamps in your scrapbook page designs!

Jacqueline Smith - Saturday's Inspiration

Jacqueline has been creating some exquisite Christmas cards and this one is right up there with my favorites! I love the crimped snow panel layers and those deer are stunning! The colors are so pretty and I love the sprinking of snow bling on the trees. This is so pretty!

Lydia Walker

This is the cutest! That Winter Fox is a must have image for me and it will be included with our next Lawn Fawn order. Now I have to tell you that I was absolutly WOW'ed when I saw how Lydia created that gorgeous red and turqoiuse pattern....no that is not pattern paper - Lydia created it in the most genius fashion! Visit her blog post here to see her tutorial and prepare to be AMAZED!

Shanna Shands

This is such a beautiful card! I love the z-fold style that Shanna used! Ching-Chou Kuik does such beautiful designs paired with Shanna's gorgeous coloring and you know it will be a stunner! This makes such a beautiful Christmas card! I love the simple design of the patterned paper and those gorgeous flowers add the perfect touch. Shanna has this card along with some of her other gorgeous creations for sale in her Etsy Store - SCSCardDesigns!

Marcy Dangcil

This is so super sweet! Marcy colored this little Tilda so beautifully for the Christmas Holiday! I love this layout and the embellishments are so perfect!

Katie Skiff

This is such an elegant card and I love that Katie can create cards making those beautiful sentiment stamps the focal image. I struggle with that because I always want to add a picture. Those papers are GORGEOUS and go with this week's challenge theme at Loves Rubberstamps of Kraft plus one color perfectly!!

Kelli Hull

This is SOOOO CUTE!! Kelli did a beautiful job of coloring this super cute image! I love the traditional Christmas colors and those patterned papers that Kelli chose are perfect! That pine branch is from Impression Obsession and we will be adding those dies soon. I love the woodgrain looking paper that really adds to the pine branch. Beautiful job!!

Wow! Is my Design Team super amazing or what?? I love each and every project for today's post! These ladies are so awesome and I just love being wow'd each and every week by their gorgeous projects! i hope you enjoyed them as much as I did!

Oh Duck!

Happy Saturday Stampers!

Hope you are having a great weekend so far! Mine will be busy busy working on getting lots of new things in the store! We have loads of exciting stuff coming so be sure to keep tabs on our New Items section because that is where you can find everything added to the store recently :)

Don't forget.... the new Saturated Canary images will be up for PREORDER on Monday! As a thank you to all of you that preorder from us - you will get a little surprise gift in your order :)

Now... Saturdays are extra special because not only is it the weekend...but because you also get to see one of Jacqueline's mini works of art! She has been busting out some gorgeous Christmas cards...but today she took a little break and created an amazing masculine card for her Dad's Birthday coming up!

How adorable is this? This is the perfect masculine card for any guy that goes hunting!  Now I have to admit that this stamp set makes me giggle. It is called Oh Duck! and it is from the Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Different Collection. We do have a few Sheena Douglass stamps available now, including the paint fushion line, and will be adding this cute set along with the others in the series very soon :)

The absolute cool thing about this stamp is that main image panel is all one stamp! The black cattails, the duck, water, sentiment, and those textured words are all the main image! Love that! Jacqueline added extra layers and texture by adding some "weeds" that she cut from designer paper. I think that the colors that Jacqueline used are just stunning! She colored the background by masking off her duck and then airbrushing it using a copic airbrush system. She then colored her duck using prismacolor pencils! Doesn't it look like you could just pluck him off your screen? It looks that real!

Jacqueline completed her card using the Whimsy Stamps Celebration Mini Tickets for the Happy Birthday tickets.

I love this card and I am sure that Jacqueline's Dad will love it even more!

Have a great weekend!

Sweet Santa Bear

Hi Stampers!

It is time for some Saturday Inspirations from Jacqueline! She has been working hard on her Christmas cards and lucky us ... we get to see some!

I think this is one of my favorite Christmas cards Jacqueline has made so far! I am a HUGE Teddy Bear fanatic and have a huge Cherished Teddies collection which these sweet Popcorn Bears remind me off. Jacqueline used the super cute Santa Bear stamp from the Popcorn Collection by Crafter's Companion.

I love the date that Jacqueline added using the Tim Holtz Alpha cards. It reminds me of this sweet little Santa bear looking at the Calendar and getting all dressed up to deliver gifts because it is the special day :)

I also love this color combo of Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze! Adorable ♥

Hope you have a safe and stampy weekend!
