Aloha!

Hello Friends! It's Marcy and I'm here to share some inspiration for a wonderful Saturday! :)

I know we are still in the Winter season but I'm already looking forward to the Summer months.  Because with Summer comes warm weather, the beaches and hopefully maybe a Summer vacation???  A girl can dream, right?!! LOL  Well this sweet image definitely makes me smile and dream!  This is "Aloha" and comes from the Doodle Garden Collection from MFT.  Don't you see yourself right now on a sandy beach drinking a pina colada?! :)

I wanted to go colorful with this card and used a fun paper collection called "Summer Soul" by Fancy Pants. Perfect papers for my summer theme!  I colored up this cute Hawaiian gal with my copics. and then added some glitter to her flowers to give her more shimmer.  Behind her is one of my favorite new dies called Die-Namics Oval Dainty Doily Die by MFT.  MFT has such awesome dies and the store carries a bunch of them! I finished off my card with some pink polka dot ribbon I had in my stash, some flowers and some pink pearls.  The sentiment "have a sun-sational day" also comes with this fun stamp set.

Supplies Used:
Aloha-MFT Doodle Garden
Black Tuxedo-Memento Ink
Summer Soul-Fancy Pants Designs
Flowers-Wild Orchid Crafts (Soon to come!)

Be sure to stop by Loves Rubberstamps to see all of adorable images from MFT's Doodle Garden collection and so much more!

You still have time to join in on the "Anything Goes" Challenge and don't forget to join tomorrow's "Sensational Sunday" blog hop starting right here to win some fun prizes!

Hope you like my card and have a "Sun-Sational" Saturday!!!

Hugs

Harriet Has a Makeover!

Hi Stampers!

For my Wednesday Inspiration post today I thought I would make up a project using the brand new release Digi Stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs called Little Friends! This is BRAND NEW in the store today!

I decided to make a no waste criss cross card because I wanted to use another new little Harriet on the inside :)

Here is the outside of my card:

The no waste cross cross cards are standard A2 size cards, so you are able to make 2 of this style from 1 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of card stock.  I colored this Little Friends image with my Copic markers. The rose is from Prima and the little branch punchies are made with the Martha Stewart Branch Punch. The lacy Kraft colored border was created using the Faux Crochet Die-Namics from MFT.

Here is a look at the insert being pulled out...

And here is my inside insert....

I kept the inside pretty simple, because there is not room for embellishments with this style card, so I just colored this cutie called Lady Bird and Butterfly up and left a blank space for writing.I sponged all my edges with the Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. LOVE this stuff!

Now you will want to run along and pick these cuties up! Crafty Sentiments Designs is having an AWESOME deal for the month of August! Check it out...

Well...I better get to bed, I am almost falling asleep as I type this up! Have a great day all and thanks for stopping by today!

I will be entering this in the following challenges (will update when I wake up!)

A Fistful of Flowers

Hi Stampers!

Here is post ONE from me today :) It is a day full of fun challenges starting...LOVE Tuesdays :D

This week our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge is EVERYONE'S FAVORITE.... ANYTHING GOES! YAY! We do these the first week of every month and it is so fun seeing so many players and visiting the blogs!

Here is what I created:

This super cute image is from the Whimsy Stamps Crissy Armstrong Collection called A Fistful of Flowers.I just love her sweet face! Now...she is not currently in the store, but we do have her in and I will be getting her added in the next few days with loads more stuff :)

Check out my new Butterfly Watermark! I have had this for a looooooong time and finally found a program to use where I could add it to my pictures - totally LOVE it! Now if only I can figure out my blog post signature one - LOL!

The papers are used are from the Simple Stories Summer Fresh Collection. I colored her with a mix of copic markers and spectrum noirs. I tried the Copic X-Press paper for the first time tonight instead of my usual Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth and I did notice a few differences between them...

Copic-Xpress seemed to bleed through more when doing lots of layering, BUT the ink always soaked in, it never stayed wet and smeary on the top. I found I didn't get out of the lines as much either when coloring closer to the edges. I also think this one has a bit of subtle sparkle which is really pretty.

Crafter's Companion - didn't bleed as much but, it was easier to go outside the lines and when you do a lot of layering with certain colors (noticed it happen with hair combo E13, E15, E18) It is almost like it gets a glaze and the ink won't soak in anymore. It takes a very long time to dry when it does that and there us always like a wetter looking spot, even when dry. Does that make sense? LOL!

I actually like them both, they both have some good and bads and are about even. Anyway...that was way off topic - LOL! For my layout I used this sketch from Stamp With Fun:

I also decorated the inside of my card to match the outside...

Also here is a final close up of my Image...

I need to remember to start writing down my marker colors so I can post them! Sorry about that!

I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week in our Anything Goes Challenge!! Also be sure to keep your eye on the New Items section in our store so you can see when this cutie is added :)

I will be back later today with my Design Team post for Crafty Sentiments Designs :) Have a great day all!

Here is my Inspirational Piece for you today...

This card is called a Shaped Double Tag Card. It creates double pouches so you can add a tag in each slot. I only created one insert because I made it as a Get Well Card and I thought it would be cute in the upper pocket to add a packet of Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup :)

For the outside I used the Tilda In Key Largo Stamp from the Magnolia Stamps Summer Memories Collection. I actually have this collection in and will be adding it to our store later this week. I have a few other things I need to finish listing in there first :) I colored it with my copics and created the sky. I tried to add some purple and pinks into my clouds this time. I chose the designer paper because it looked like little Suns and I wanted it to remind you of a hot summer day at the beach! My Waves were created using the My Favorite Things Wave Die-Namics and the Die on the front is Spellbinders.

Here is a look at the Insert out. For this one I used the Magnolia Stamp called Pearl Tilda which is also from the Summer Memories Collection. This is one of my favorite series :) I tried something new with her hair which is adding some teal to the brown. Here is a closer look...

I got a tad carried away with my doodle dots on her tail - LOL!

Here is a close up of my Cover Image:

Out of My Comfort Zone...

Hi Stampers!

Well after about 3 hours of trying to organize my craft disaster and find my desk...I finally found it! Good thing because I have lots of projects to get made because I want to get ahead a little bit :)

Here is what I made for your Inspiration today...

This card is totally out of my style element - LOL! I normally do not use the bright, bold colors but I saw a challenge on Anyone For Anya to create a card based on this inspiration photo...

When I saw this I immediately thought of the Anya Blooms stamp from The Greeting Farm because of the flowers. I also thought that the color scheme of kraft, burgundy, orange, and dark and light pinks was intriguing. So I thought I would try it out! I don't think it turned out to bad! That is one of the fun things about challenges! Sometimes it is fun to go outside your comfort zone a little and try something new! I never would have put these colors together on my own. My Sentiment is from the Anya Celebrates stamp set.

For my layout I used the sketch from this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge...

Anyway...I hope you were not too blinded by my Bright, Bold, Summer colors - LOL! What do you think of my Blonde Hair color? I have never tried coloring blonde hair with my copics because I don't have many colors yet so I just kind of grabbed a few that looked "Blondish" and went with it - LOL! I kind of like it - more of a golden strawberry blonde.

Here is one last look at my Anya...

Thanks for stopping by! also... Don't forget about our DESIGN TEAM CALL!

A REEL Expert!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Holly-Day Friday! Well....Guess who fell asleep on the couch last night, literally within 15 minutes of laying down?? YEP! ME! I fell asleep about 8:15 and of course slept until 3am this morning and am now up...wide awake...lol! I think I will work on the computer awhile then maybe head down to to my craft disaster and try and find my desk to get some Design Team Projects made! I seriously need to work on my craft room so I can start using it one of these days! Always too many things to do - LOL - sometimes it is hard to figure out where to start! But crafting out of boxes and piles gets annoying sometimes and it probably would take me HALF as long to make stuff if I wasn't losing things I need on my desk because it is so messy, or my piles falling over when I try and move anything - LOL! If you are a paper crafter you probably know EXACTLY what I am talking about - LOL!

Holly was able to find her desk and create this absolutely adorable card for your Friday Inspiration...

I LOVE it! I really love how Holly used the Instaframe to make it like a little polaroid. That Designer paper is PERFECT too! I don't think could get any cuter! Such an adorable way to start the weekend!

In case you haven't heard yet....we are having a DESIGN TEAM CALL so be sure to get your application in :) We are having three positions open up!If you have always wanted to be on a super fun team and craft with a bunch of talented paper artists....be sure to apply :) We have two different ways...either by email or through you creating a blog post.

Have a great weekend and Happy Stampin!

Watermelon Cutie & DESIGN TEAM CALL!

Hi Stampers!

Today is Tuesday which means a brand new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge! This week we are asking you to break out some hoarded supplies and GASP....actually USE THEM! Maybe it is special embellishment, ribbon, papers, or maybe you hoard it all! LOL! Whatever it is we want to see it :)

Here is my project:

This week one of our sponsors is All That Scraps. Christine asked our team to use a couple of the new release Swiss Pixies - Abigail With Watermelon or Pinwheel Brigitta. So you will notice that the team used one or both of these images on their projects this week!

I used the adorable Abigail with Watermelon. I wanted to keep my card, CAS, cute and with a country feel so that was the basis for my color scheme. Actually it is one of my super favorite combos...which you probably figured out since I have used it in like my last 3 or 4 projects - LOL! Cherry Cobbler & Crumb Cake, and sometimes Early Espresso mixed in.

The hoarded supply item I used is my Stampin Up! Crochet Lace Trim Victoria. I only have a few twists on my spool left so I have to use it sparingly! I need to buy like a case of it because I could seriously use it on everything I make - LOL! I LOVE it!  I layered my red gingham ribbon on the top of it here.My Sentiment is from the Wild For Watermelon stamp set from Flourishes.

Here is a close up of Miss Abigail:

Sorry my picture looks a little washed out. I had to take it at night and my lighting is not the greatest. Plus I had literally like 10 minutes to edit and upload to make it to work on time! I will try and take some better pics in the morning.

In some other news on the store front... for our next Design Team Term - September 1st - December 31st we will sadly be saying good-bye to 3 of our amazing Design Team Members! While it makes us really sad to have to say good-bye we know that they will not be far away on blog land and we will have the opportunity to design with THREE new Designers! So we are having a DESIGN TEAM CALL! You can see all the details on this blog post here... DESIGN TEAM CALL.

We hope that you will apply and we look forward to seeing all the applications!

Thanks for stopping by! Now...break out those hoarded supplies and play along with us :)

Hi Stampers!

I know I know it is Monday...but Monday's are awesome here on the blog because that is when we get to see a super cute Inspirational Project created by Olivia! Such a perfect way to start the week off! Take a look at this cutie...

This adorable image is called Winnie Peeking Out The Window and is from Stamping Bella's Uptown Girl Collection. This is one of my FAVORITE stamp lines! They are sooo cute! What do you suppose Miss Winnie is thinking about? I think she is wondering where the heck the weekend went so fast! LOL!

I think Olivia did such a cute job paper piecing the curtains and the colors scheme is so pretty! This is a great stamp that you can use for many occasions! Love it!

If you haven't had a chance to get in on our Anything Goes challenge this week you still have a few hours left! Come show us what you have been working on! We will also be starting a Design Team Call as well so if you have wanted the chance to be a member of our amazing team...you will be getting the chance to apply! Look for Details on Tuesday!

Peas & Strawberries!

Hi Stampers!

Today's post will be super quick because I am in a time crunch - LOL! My inspiration piece for you today I created to enter this week's Saturated Canary Challenge of Summer Fruits. I only have 40 minutes to edit my pictures, write this post and get it entered before Mr. Linky closes! YIKES!

So here is my finished project...

I used the super adorable Saturated Canary Summer! This is the first time I have colored her AND the first time I have tried coloring an image with this much hair! It was pretty scary at first - LOL! This is also the first time I tried to draw in a nose and my second time doing clouds in the sky! I don't think it turned out to bad :)

Here is a close up of Summer:

And a close up of my sentiment...

I LOVE this sentiment - it totally cracks me up! It is from the C.C. Designs Berry Logos Stamp Set. I also used the C.C. Designs Cutters Tickets Die to cut the ticket out. The bowl is the Love Bowls from Great Impressions.

The Sketch layout I used is the Mojo Sketch #300!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked my Inspiration piece for you today :)

Have a great day!

Summer Days!

Hi Stampers!

Holy Buckets! I can't believe that July is here already! Seems like yesterday the cold, Iowa Winter was in full force! And before you tell me to hush it... Christmas will be here before you know it! That is my reminder for myself that I really need to make Christmas cards now so I can send more than 2 handmade cards this year - LOL!

But before we think about Christmas...let us focus on the gorgeous Summer weather :) Olivia created a super cute (as always!) Summer Inspired Card that is packed full of sunshine, cuteness and one of the best reliefs on hot Summer Days.... ICE CREAM!

How cute is this?? Olivia used the adorable Mo Manning Lacie with Ice Cream from Stamping Bella! I love how she made the panel look like a polaroid! The papers, colors and ticket are perfect! I love the way she added the word Summer along the bottom also!

Such a cute way to start the week off! Be sure to hop along in our Sensational Sunday Blog hop if you didn't get the chance yesterday! You have until Saturday to play along!

Thanks for stopping by!

Red, White & Blue at Loves Rubberstamps!

Hi Stampers!

I am back for my SECOND Post for the day! If  you are looking for my Crafty Sentiments Design Team Project just click here...

This week at Loves Rubberstamps we are doing a color challenge of Red, White & Blue! With Independence Day here in the US fast approaching, it seemed like a fitting theme :) You can go patriotic or just use the color scheme like I did for my piece.

I decided to use The Greeting Farm's Cheeky Beach. I love this line of stamps they are so cute and fun to color. I paper pieced her swimsuit and shoes with Royal Blue Glitter Paper. This was also my first time trying to create eye shadow using copics! I don't have very many colors yet so I kept it pretty light. That was scary adding it because if it didn't turn out well it I would have had to start coloring all over - LOL! But I am glad I tried because I think it turned out cute. Instead of coloring the flower in her hair I added a ribbon bow. My Sentiment is created using the Delicate Words Die from The Greeting Farm.

For my layout I chose to use the sketch from the Anyone For Anya challenge this week. I have to say that this sketch stumped me for quite awhile even though it looked pretty straight forward. I had a hard time figuring out what designer papers I wanted to have in the background. I think it took me longer to figure that out and how I wanted to do the corner decoration than it did to color my image - LOL! Here is the sketch...

I chose to us the strip at the bottom instead of the top corner and used rolled roses that I made with Night of Navy cardstock and placed them on top of flourish made with the Fancy Flourish Die-Namics. I added a pearl in the center using the Best Glue Ever and added some stickles to the edges for a little bling.

Here is a close up of my Cheeky Beach Cutie!

I used Copics and Spectrum Noir Markers to color her up.

Hair: E11, E13, E15, E18
Skin: SN FS2, E00, E11, E13, R20
Beach Ball - Spectrum Noir Reds
Lips - R59
Eyeshadow - E70

Faith & Trust & Pixie Dust

Hi Stampers!

Today starts a new Loves Rubberstamps challenge! This one is everyone's FAVORITE... Anything Goes! Before I share my project that I created for inspiration... I wanted to share a picture of my Grandma :) For those not aware, she is battling breast cancer for the second time and just had a masectomy at the beginning of March. Last week, I received a surprise in the mail from one of our Design Team members, Athina Emory, of a lovely card for myself, and also one addressed to Gramma and for only her to open it :) Grandma was super touched by the lovely card and she wished for me to tell Athina - thank you so much from the bottom of her heart. She loved the card and thought it was such a wonderful surprise. This is for you Athina :)

For my project today I am trying to use some of my stamps that I have not had the chance to ink up yet. I totally adore C.C. Designs stamps and I saw that their challenge this week is to use an image with wings so I decided to play with Pixie Lucy. This is one of my super favorite stamps and it is horrible that I have had her for so long and never had the chance to color her up yet!

I decided to try and go with some bright, bold, spring-like colors because I am getting tired of cold and snow - LOL! The mushroom image is one from my very first purchase of Magnolia stamps when I bought the Alva and Alf elves collection. This is one of the accessory stamps for the characters to sit on. I colored my Pixie Lucy using copic markers. Her hair and skin colors are all from the 6 piece copic sketch marker set. I don't own very many copics yet so the grays in my mushroom are spectrum noir markers and the cap is actually all the colors from the Color Fusion 2 Trio. The flowers are a mix of handmade rolled flowers and prima flowers. Using so many flowers on a card is a new thing for me too - LOL! I always admire the cards with loads of gorgeous flowers arranged so perfectly. I think I need one more prima flower next to my two rolled ones on the bottom :)

Here is a little closer look at my Pixie Lucy and mushroom together:

And here is a closer look at Pixie Lucy so you can actually see the Dazzling Diamonds on her wings...

I also am super lame when it comes to trying to come up with a lay out for my cards so I looked around and saw this card sketch from Card Mania for their challenge this week and decided to use it for my lay out :)

I hope you enjoyed my project today and please come play along in our challenge this week! Our design Team and myself would love to visit your blog and see your creations :)

Happy Stampin!

Shanna made that with cheesecloth that she dyed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers! That is beautiful! What a cute card that can be used for many occasions!

Dangina Martinez

I used an image from  C.C. Designs HONEY-BEE-TRICE and some Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp her.

This is one of my favorite lines from C.C. Designs and Dangina colored this one up perfectly!! This is a super sweet card that makes me ready for summer! I love the paper that Dangina chose with the glittery stripes. That flower is gorgeous! I love the unique shape too, makes this extra fun! Love it!
