April Showers

Hi Stampers!

Well you know the Old Saying ... when it rains it pours...well it certainly has been happening here! My Grandma fell this morning and broke her femur all the way through so she is headed to surgery at 4:30 this afternoon! This will be a quick post so I can get back there before they take her down.

This week our challenge at Loves Rubberstamps certainly fits with the way my life has been going this last month or so! APRIL SHOWERS!

To Play along just create a project that has Rain Showers, Umbrellas, thunderstorms & lightning...or think Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, as long as it has something to do with some sort of "SHOWER" it will qualify :)

Here is my card:

To create this card I used this week's sketch from Sketch N Stash:

For my papers I actually used some of my hoarded paper supply of My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two! I adore this paper pack and will be so sad when I run out.

My image is from C.C. Designs and is called Umbrella Lula. I also used the C.C. Designs Cutters Die - Umbrella and the Umbrella Logos set to create my Ticket and the sentiment with the matching paper pieced umbrella. The Ticket I did cut out with the C.C. Designs Tickets Cutters Die too.

I colored my Lula using copic markers after stamping her in memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I also paper pieced her hat and the umbrellas. I popped the little duck up so he is 3D. The clouds I free hand cut and then sponged then super lightly with some gray ink.

Here are some close ups:

I really thought this turned out super cute! I will be later this evening to get all the links to the products on and to update my post with the challenges that I am entering!

Monday Inspiration on Tuesday!

Hi Stampers!

I was super sick yesterday and didn't get on the computer at all so I apologize that this did not get posted yesterday. I laid in my bed and felt like crud! I feel better today but got the news that my Grandma has fallen and her femur has broke all the way through. She is scheduled for surgery at 4:30! So I ran home quick to grab a few things then am headed back to the hospital!

Here is Olivia's gorgeous project!

She used the Lula Big Heart from C.C. Designs! Her coloring is gorgeous and what a beautiful color combination for Spring! Love this fun layout too! She did such a beautiful job!

I will be back in just a few minutes with TWO more posts!

See in a few!

Double Inspiration Today!

Hi Stampers!

Sorry I have been the world's cruddiest blogger this week! It has been a long, exhausting week between working overnights and then taking care of Grandma during the day. Leaves no time for anything except pure sleep deprivation, crankiness and no mojo!

So today for your Saturday Inspirations I am sharing Ceal's Thursday project and Holly's Friday project so you will get a double dose of late...but amazing ... inspirational pieces!

First up... Ceal's project from Thursday...

This super cute Spring feeling card is done using the Ramona and Her Wagon image from Stamping Bella. I think this line is so adorable :) I love the Spring colors and designer papers that Ceal chose!

We also have this total cutie patootie from Holly...

EEEK! How cute is this? This sweet image is from My Favorite Things and is called Springtime Wishes. We will be getting these in as soon as our supplier can keep them in stock long enough to order - LOL! They just fly off the shelves it seems like! Holly paired this with the Magnolia scenery stamp Tulip Walkway. Doesn't it go perfectly?  I love the papers Holly chose and the cute paper piecing! Turned out so adorable!

Both of these cards are super cute and fit in our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Theme of Creating an Outdoor Scene. You still have a few days to play and this week we have TWO prizes that together would total up to $40.00 up for grabs! Come play along!

Have a great weekend everyone! I am hoping to sleep - LOL! Exciting plans...I know...but you would be surprised how excited you get for sleep when you don't have any for days :)

Take care & Happy Stampin!

A Beautiful Rose

Hi Stampers!

This week at The Cutting Cafe the Design team was assigned to use the printable stamp set called A Beautiful Rose. This set has a variety of roses, some beautiful sentiments, and even a vase shaped card! Such a pretty set. Here is what I came up with for my project...

I enlarged the largest size single stem rose to 100% and then printed three copies because I wanted to pop different layers to make it dimensional. I colored it with my copic color fusion set number 3. Then I cut it out and popped three different layers on the flower head. Here is a close up:

The embossing folder is from Stampin Up! and even though you can't tell it, the paper I used is Shimmer White so it has a sparkle to it. The sentiment is one that comes with this printable stamp set.

Sorry this is posting late - I had to bring my Grandma to our house to stay and didn't get anything accomplished yesterday. We did get good news about her leg...no cancer...just a stress fracture in her femur - yay for breaking a leg :)

Be sure to check out the the other gorgeous samples that the rest of the Design team did using this set! You can also leave a comment on The Cutting Cafe post for a chance to win some free files of your choice! How awesome!

Have a great day all and I will be back shortly with some inspiration from Ceal!

Lil' Miss CuteAtude

Hi Stampers!

While I am waiting to check on an order before I get to bed I thought I would share Olivia's super adorable card that she created for your Inspiration :)

Olivia used the sweetest stamp set from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence collection called CuteAtude. I think this is one is my super favorite set from this line :)

I just love this little Diva and Olivia colored her so perfectly! Those beautiful papers are from My Mind's Eye and the sentiment is from the Clearly Sentimental Stamp Set - Art. I think this is so adorable! Her little attitude just cracks me up! I love the layout that Olivia used too and the pearl accents are perfect!

Thanks for stopping by today! Now I better get some sleep :)

Sensational Sunday Inspirations + Blog Candy

Hi Stampers!

Sorry for being late today! We have had a crazy few days around here ;(  We found out Thursday that Grandma's cancer may have started in her right leg - in the femur area because she has been having a lot of pain where she can not walk on it. They rushed tests on Friday to check her leg and brain. Her brain was clear but there was an abnormality in her leg. She has to go Monday for more scans so they can see if it is a fracture or if it is the cancer. Fingers crossed she just broke her leg!

Then this weekend has been the annual Veisha Weekend festivities so work was insane all weekend!! Great thing it is still Winter here because I think we would have had a riot Friday night (had 2 cars flipped at bar close and arrested 23 people) if the weather was warm and then last night had to life flight two college kids for falling and striking their heads so hard they had brain bleeds. Crazy stuff!!

So I have not had a chance to do anything besides worry, work and sleep! I am glad the weekend is over and life can get back to a little more normal. Now just hoping Grandma's tests come back ok! I think I have rambled on enough so onto the fun stuff!

Before we get to today's hop... we have to announce last week's candy winner!

This week the Sensational Sunday Sweet Spot was on Ivonne's Blog!

The card I am sharing for the hop today is Ceal's Inspirational card that should have been posted on Thursday! With everything going on here I didn't get it up...but it is adorable and cute so I still wanted to share it! So I thought what better way then to kick off today's hop!

Isn't this CUTE? Plus since it is still Winter feeling here...(we had snow on Thursday!) this is perfect :) Ceal used the cutest snowman stamps from Paper Smooches called Swanky Snowdudes - which - I think the name is just as cute as the stamps :) She used Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Copic Sketch Markers. I think her background is so neat! LOVE it!

Be sure to swing by Ceal's Blog Post and leave her some love for this adorable project after you get done hopping around to see what the other design team ladies created this week!

Lace and Pearls and Spring Colors!

Hi Stampers!

Sorry for the late post today, we were having internet issues - GRRR! It seems like our internet provider knows exactly when I have tons of stuff to get done online!

Today is Tuesday and this is an extra special Tuesday for me because this is my FIRST challenge inspiration project for Crafty Sentiments Designs since being chosen for the Design team! Their challenge this week should have some gorgeous, gorgeous entries because it is Lace and Pearls!

Here is my project...

I used the Annabelle Elegance stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs and colored her with copics. The papers are from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found collections and that neat ticket is a Tim Holtz one that I distressed and then sponged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I just found that awesome rose trim with the pearls interlaced at Hobby Lobby last week! It was such a great find :)

I also added dazzling diamonds to the dress to give some bling and sparkle, here is a close up of the bling:

And here is a close up of my main image:

Now to me... nothing says Spring has arrived like Prom and this image totally reminded me of a girl all dressed up to go to her Prom so I made my colors be soft pastels which reminds me of Spring...so I also used this project as inspiration for our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge this week - Spring Colors!

So I hope that you will play along with us at Crafty Sentiments Designs by adding Lace and Pearls to your project and if you use Spring Colors also - play along at Loves Rubberstamps too!

Have a great night!
Happy Stampin!

Do Si Do...Here we go!

Hi Stampers!

First off, I have to say that our thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims that were at the Boston Marathon today. Such a senseless tragedy. I hope those responsible for the attack are found quickly so they can be held accountable.

Today will be a new beginning for me. I am making a promise to myself that I will get serious about losing some weight. I was following weight watchers and have slowly started slipping of the WW wagon. I have gained back a few of the pounds I initially lost and I don't want to gain anymore. So ... I have started the Dr. Oz 3 Day Detox program to kickstart the journey and to help reset my body and get it ready to be healthier :) After my detox, it will be better meal choices and making the time to get a workout in, even if it is a small one, I figure a little is better than nothing! My son and I are hitting the gym in just a little bit :) I am just charging my WW Activity Monitor and IPOD first!

So... once in awhile I will share how I am doing and maybe a recipe or two that is super yummy that I stumble across. Feel free to comment or share, tips, recipes or your own struggles with losing a few pounds. I feel like the more support you have the better chance you have of making a real lifestyle change that is sustainable and it helps to know that your not alone and others struggle with the same things you are. My sister started exercising and watching what she ate in January and has stuck to it and you can really tell a difference! She is doing awesome and it makes me realize that if I would just stick to it, long term, I can eventually reach my goals too.

Now on to the best part of Monday... Olivia's beautiful inspirational project!

This is one of my favorite Anya images from The Greeting Farm - Do Si Do Anya! I think she is just super adorable! Olivia did an awesome job paper piecing her dress! These paper are so beautiful and are from the Authentique - 6x6 paper pack called Lovely. This color combo is one of my favorites - soft pinks and kraft! Such a gorgeous combo! I think this is such a cute layout and it really lets the image shine as the focal point. I love the flower accents and the Die-Namics Notched Tag that Olivia added as well! Such a beautiful job!

Well... I am off! I have a super busy night tonight... I will be getting the new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge and Design team favorites posted, then I will be packing LOADS of orders... the Wild Rose Studio preorder arrived so those will all be going out! Then I want to get ahead of the game on creating some crafty stuff for my Design Team projects and inspirational posts...and get my workout in! :D

Have a great night all!

I will be posting my project for today's hop as soon as I get home from work! I was having camera issues and ran out of time before I had to leave so I will get the pictures up as soon as I get home today :)

Until then... I will share one of my  blast from the past FAVORITE past projects that I created. This was the card I created for my Grandma's Birthday...

This uses the Butterfly Shaped Card Template from The Cutting Café. I used the Butterfly Shaped Card for my base and then I used the Butterfly - Beautiful Wings Die from Stampin Up! to create a smaller set of wings so I could have a 3D layered butterfly. I did two layers for each size, one in pink pirouette and the other in vellum which I embossed in white with the Take Flight stamp set from Tim Holtz. Which will be added to the store soon :)

The inside roses hold the butterfly up so it makes it's own stand. I also added a corrugated heart and the banner and sentiment from the Tattered Angels Vintage Seasons Timeless Romance set. My flourish is the My Favorite Things Fancy Flourish Die-Namics.

I hope you liked my card for today - Be sure to check back this afternoon for my "real" project for today's hop!!

Snow Days!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Holly-Day Friday! Hope you have some exciting plans this weekend! I work this whole weekend so not much excitement will be had here - LOL! Tomorrow night is opening race night for my husband - the first points night anyway! I will head over to watch him but will have to leave early to make it to work on time. Such a bummer when I have to leave early :(  Sometimes the first race nights they are so slow at doing anything - I am cutting it close just to see his races before I leave! It is supposed to be super cold too so I am making some chili and a new recipe I haven't tried called crock pot hot chocolate to take with us :)

Today...Holly's card fits our weather because as I was carrying in groceries earlier it started spitting snow! I am so ready for warm weather! Send me some Holly! We had one teaser day of almost 70 and then we went straight back into the freezer!

I love this! The colors are so perfect for a little boys card and I love the wonky square mats that Holly made using her spellbinders wonky squares dies! Holly colored her image so cute too! Love it! That sweet image is from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps called Snow Day Lucas. This set has three different boys images which are all adorable! Check out Holly's blog post to see her inspiration behind this and the full list of her supplies that she used :)

I better get going! Have a few things to get done before work! If you get some crafty time - play along in our 3D Dimensional image challenge! It is pretty fun! We also have THREE prizes for one lucky winner!

Have a great weekend!

Make your own Pattern Paper

Hi Stampers!

Happy Thursday! I am busy working on my dishes...gah! One of my most dreaded chores! I need to get them done so I can go work in the craft room for awhile though - which is waaaay more fun :D

Thursday means we get to see some Inspiration from Ceal! Today Ceal's card reminded me of a technique that I love doing....making your own background paper using your stamps! That way you can create a custom look that is perfect for what you are needing AND as a bonus you get to hoard all of the pretty designer paper you have that is too gorgeous to cut up - LOL! That is if you are anything like me...some papers are super hard for me to use because they are so pretty and I want to only use them on the perfect project - LOL! Only my fellow paper hoarders will understand :)

Here is Ceal's pretty card:

Ceal took the doily stamp from the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 3 Ruby stamp set and stamped them in alternating shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks creating her background. This is such an elegant, yet easy to do design that looks amazing! Add your sentiment, pop a few blings on there because bling makes everything better...and you have a gorgeous card design that you can use for a lot of different occasions!
Love it!

Well...I better get back to the dishes...they are still there...waiting for me! I was hoping that they would wash themselves, but no such luck!

Have a great night!

Vintage Postcard

Hi Stampers!

Today is my Design Team day for The Cutting Cafe! Regina has been coming out with some really amazing files and this week we could choose from four of the new releases! Our choices were - The Suitcase Box Template, The Suitcase Treat Box, The Suitcase Mini Book, and the Postcard Printable Set. I decided to use the postcard set for my project!

Postcards always remind me of a vintage style so that is what I tried to do with my card. Here is what I came up with:

I totally love how it came out! There are two different postcards that you get in this set. This one reminded me more of a masculine style, why I don't know - LOL- but that is the first thing that popped into my mind! For my orange layer - I used the Tim Holtz Distress Cardstock and embossed it with his Clock embossing folder and then sanded the top. The bottle was created using the Ship stamp from Gourmet Rubber Stamps. I just stamped it and then did simple sponging to age it. I added a single layer of UTEE on top so it looked glossy, and pitted with age. The Sentiment is one of my favorites too. It is called The River Bends also from Gourmet Rubber Stamps. I sponged all my edges with the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain and then distressed the edges to make them look old. The doo-dad thing in the corner was created using the Sea Charms Die-Namics from My Favorite Things and the compass with the stamps from Stampin Up! Open Sea set. My papers are from the Simple Stories Pack - Awesome. This card went together pretty quick once I figured out what I was doing - LOL!

Here is a closer look at my bottle...

I hope you liked my project today! Be sure to swing by The Cutting Cafe Blog later today and see what all of my fellow teamies created! They are such a talented group of ladies!

Have a great day all!

Sweet Monkey Baby!

Hi Stampers!

It is time for a new Loves Rubberstamps challenge! This week we have TWO Guest sponsors as well as the Loves Rubberstamps prize so it is an awesome week to play along with us! This week we have a really fun challenge to make your stamped image 3D by cutting out pieces of your image and layering them on top of each other to create dimension. This really gives your stamped images a really cool look! If you have never tried it before...I am warning you it is totally fun and you will love how it looks! Even popping just a few pieces can make a real difference!

Here is my Inspiration card...

That sweet little Mrs. Monkey is one of the prizes this week from our Guest Sponsor C.C. Designs! In my project she is a baby not a Mrs. - LOL! I colored the monkey using the copic sketch marker 6 piece skin tones set and the outfit is colored using the Color Fusion 2 trio. To layer my image - I took four images and colored different parts to pop the pieces up. The bottom layer is her tail and ears, the second layer is her body, the third layer is her face and belly, and the 4th layer is her hair and bow and her skirt. I layered them with glue dots because I didn't want them really wide apart. Here is a side view so you can see my layers better...

Isn't that awesome? For the baby bottle I used the Baby Bottle Shaped Card 1 Template from The Cutting Cafe. I used the Simple Stories paper pack - Baby Steps to make it. That adorable banner sentiment is from the same paper pack. I love this saying and think it would be fun to do an art journal page or something for this quote :)

Here is a close up of the quote:

Yes...it is a Winnie the Pooh quote but it is still awesome! Plus - who doesn't love Winnie the Pooh?

Here is a closer look at Mrs. Monkey... or in this case Mrs. "Baby" Monkey :)

I hope you enjoyed today's project and I look forward to seeing your popped 3D image when you play along with us :)

Have a great day & happy stampin'!
