Snow Days!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Holly-Day Friday! Hope you have some exciting plans this weekend! I work this whole weekend so not much excitement will be had here - LOL! Tomorrow night is opening race night for my husband - the first points night anyway! I will head over to watch him but will have to leave early to make it to work on time. Such a bummer when I have to leave early :(  Sometimes the first race nights they are so slow at doing anything - I am cutting it close just to see his races before I leave! It is supposed to be super cold too so I am making some chili and a new recipe I haven't tried called crock pot hot chocolate to take with us :)

Today...Holly's card fits our weather because as I was carrying in groceries earlier it started spitting snow! I am so ready for warm weather! Send me some Holly! We had one teaser day of almost 70 and then we went straight back into the freezer!

I love this! The colors are so perfect for a little boys card and I love the wonky square mats that Holly made using her spellbinders wonky squares dies! Holly colored her image so cute too! Love it! That sweet image is from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps called Snow Day Lucas. This set has three different boys images which are all adorable! This is TOO CUTE!! What a super fun image and I love how Marcy paper pieced her outfit! What a perfect pattern to use also! The colors are so pretty and that arrow is too cool! I love this layout too and check out the major bling flower center! Gorgeous! This is such an awesome design! Love Love LOVE it!   Wow! The Design Team were on their A-Game again this week! What super gorgeous and fun designs! I am hoping to get down to my crafty space and do some crafting today too, especially after seeing these inspiring cards! Amazing job ladies!! I loved each and every one! You gals ROCK!

YAY! I am always excited when Olivia gets to join us on Sundays too :) This is sooo pretty! I love the rich colors of the papers and Olivia colored her image perfectly to match! One thing that I love about the Simple Stories papers is they have some built in page elements that you can use to decorate with that match the papers perfectly. Like in this case the little acorn tag and the fishtail behind the image panel. Olivia did an awesome job using these elements in her card! I LOVE that flower too - just beautiful! Awesome job Olivia!!

Now this is such a beautiful scrapbook page! I think it is even more beautiful because it features a picture of our very own Design Team Member.... LYDIA!! This is such a gorgeous lay out and I love all the flowers and accents that Lydia added! How cool is that name tag?!?! I love how Lydia used the stamps to create interest in the background too and the colors are so pretty!! Lydia creates the most stunning pages! I swear that one of these days I will send her some of my photos to scrap - LOL! Do you think she would notice if I sent her 20 + years of pictures - hee hee!

Sensational Sunday Inspirations + Blog Candy!

Hi Stampers!

Are you ready for some gorgeous inspiration today? I sure am! I have to make sure to make it to my craft room later today after I wake up and bust out some projects so today's blast of inspiration should do me some good! But first I will need to get a few hours of sleep...I stayed up posting lots of new stuff last night and I am not even done yet! I got on quite a few new MFT A La Modes, Die-Namics and just a few sentiment sets. I still have more MFT to add - more Sentiments and some PI stamps. Then I have some La La Land, Magnolia Stamps & Dies,  and I have just got some TIM HOLTZ stamps and some Dies in, so look for those soon too. I have some crafty essentials and some other fun stuff in waiting too :) We have new stuff coming about every other day so I will pretty much be listing new stuff on a daily basis most of the time. Sometimes it will be just a few things, other times more :) The best and easiest way to quickly see the new stuff is by checking the New Items section.

This is the absolute cutest! Lydia colored this so pretty! Just think when she first joined our team she used to not be a color person and now look how amazing that coloring is!! Beautiful! I am soooo glad she decided to give it a try! I adore how Lydia created the sentiment with that cute little pie! The papers and ribbon are beautiful! Look at the paper pieced apron - ♥ love!

WOW! I have to pinch myself each week to make sure that having a design team this amazing is real - LOL! These ladies are all so super talented and they just outdo themselves every week! Totally love each and every one of these projects! I hope they inspired you to get crafty!

We are super sad to see her leave the team but I know we will be seeing her in blog land and she will be starting some new adventures with the New Year so we wish her lots of luck with that! I love Katie's style of having a clean and simple design that packs a huge wow in it and comes out looking so elegant. This card completely cracked me up when I saw Lydia's sentiment! This is too cute and that little wiener dog is hilarious! I love how Lydia used the sign from the Paper Smooches set for part of the sentiment! I think Lydia is becoming quite the expert colorist with her spectrums too! Love the shading on the dog! And I SWEAR that I will get the new Lawn Fawn stamps that have arrived in the store TODAY... including the Sally's ABCs that Lydia is AMAZING at using! I can never get my letters so straight using an alphabet set! AWESOME JOB!!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Hi Stampers!

It is Christmas Eve!! Hard to believe that Christmas is tomorrow! Tonight we will be heading over to my brother's house for our traditional Christmas Eve family get together. We always have Chili and at least 2 other soups and my sister-in-law always has a gazillion pounds of Christmas Candy that she makes every year. It is so good! We always do a White Elephant Christmas Gift exchange which is a ton of fun. It will be a blast. I am grateful that my Grandma is feeling well enough to be there. The Christmas Eve Chili Tradition was started by my Grandpa many years ago and we carry it on in his memory. That way it is like a part of him is there celebrating with us.

Today we have an adorable card for you from Olivia! This is the last of her Christmas card projects and it is totally cute!

Olivia used the super cute Kraftin Kimmie Stamp called Joy. This is from the Moonlight Whispers Collection and it was a new style of character that was for one of their Holiday Releases. Olivia did a beautiful job coloring her image and she paper pieced her outfit! Olivia is awesome at paper piecing! I love the simple layout that allows the image to be the star!

I think this card is absolutely gorgeous! Shanna does such an amazing job coloring her images yo! I love how she created a frame for this adorable Magnolia image, Browns and Blues are one of my favorite color combos for Winter cards! I love this lay out and the accents are PERFECT! Gorgeous job!

Wow! I am just blown away each week by these amazing ladies! Their talent is just incredible! I apologize that this was late in getting posted today! Hopefully this week things here will get back to normal as long as we have no more blizzards! Now that my husband bought his snow plow blade and new snowblower... we will never have snow again in Iowa! YAY! Now THAT would not hurt my feelings any - LOL!

A Cup of Cozy Wishes

Hi Stampers!

I have a bonus post for you today :) I had a chance to escape to my stampin studio while my husband was playing Black Ops 2 and switching between that and football. I decided to play along in this week's Kraftin Kimmie Challenge because it has been a little while since I had the opportunity to play in one. This week they had a fun sketch challenge. I love sketch challenges because I can never come up with good ones on my own - LOL!

I still need to get some Christmas cards made before my last resort of... ugh ... store bought! Shame on me I know! I love this cute snowman from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps called A Cup of Cozy Wishes. I used papers from the Winter Wishes paper pack from Echo Park, which will be loaded in our store very soon :)

The snowflakes are made with glitter paper and the Snowflake Wonder Spellbinders dies. I added some sparkly gems to dress them up a bit too. The embossed snowflake in my background is from the Tattered Angels set called Chillin'.

I colored the snowman using spectrum noir alcohol markers and added dazzling diamonds to her snowbody. Here is a closer look at her:

How adorable is this?? One of my favorite things to do is scrap recipes like this! I think that Lydia did an amazing job paper piecing her image. What a yummy sounding recipe too! There were a couple of things I haven't heard of like caster sugar... wonder what you would use here in the U.S. as a substitute? I wounder if it is like powder sugar?
