Beautiful Fairy

Hi Stampers!

Happy Monday! It is going to be FREEZING here this morning! We are supposed to get down to 32 degrees with a high today only in the 40's! GAH! NOT ready for freezing winter temps yet! My Warm Climate friends...send me some sunshine and warmth please :)

Here is a little piece of sunshine from Olivia just for you...

A bright, fun and funky Fairy from the Karen Middleton Collection from Sweet Pea Stamps! I think this is so pretty with the warm Fall colors and that gorgeous embellishment! I love how Olivia colored her image and check out her shading in the frame around the image! It looks perfect, almost like a ruffled ribbon with the different shades of copics! Such a pretty design and gorgeous Echo Park papers!!

Well it is almost time for me to get off work and go out in this FREEZING weather! Thanks for stopping by today & stay warm :)

A Star is Born

Hi Stampers!

Happy Monday! I am excited because I only work tonight and then have a couple days off - YAY! I am so looking forward to trying to get some much needed crafty time once I can find my desk. It is a horrible, pathetic mess right now and super uninspiring because I know I NEED to desperately clean it off before I can make ANYTHING! Darn messy desks anyway - LOL!!

Well...we didn't make it to see the movie Gravity over the weekend. Maybe on my days off this week we will make it! If anyone has seen it... What did you think? We went to my nephew Jayden's 4th birthday party Saturday Evening. That was pretty fun! We found out that a friend of our's daughter and her friend have a crush on our son Austin! The two girls were super excited that Austin was coming to the party but since we had to wait until Tim got off work and were late they had left before they could see him. So Jenny (her Mom) made sure to take Austin's picture and send it to them once he arrived! LOL! Teenagers :) He just shook his head and was embarrassed :)

Here is today's super gorgeous card from Olivia!

Olivia used the stunning Birth of a Star by Rachel Anderson for Sweet Pea Stamps. I love the colors of this and the way the cloudy sky is really subtle. Those corner flourishes are so beautiful! I really love the layout and the designer papers that Olivia chose. They are from the Authentique Thankful Paper Pack.
Olivia colored this up with copic markers. I love how it turned out!

I will be adding a large batch of various Artists from Sweet Pea Stamps as preorders in the near future so be watching for those! You can also sign up for our newsletter to be advised when they are available also :)

Have a great day all & thanks for stopping!

For my project today I decided to do my first... I guess you would call it an art journal page. It is not in a book yet, and I didn't use any fancy mixed media stuff...just my favorite stuff that I like. But I guess there is no right or wrong way to art journal...so that is what I am calling it - LOL!

I used one of my favorite Ching-Chou Kuik images called Dark Sirene and colored her with copics. My page is 6 1/4" x 6 1/4". The Designer paper I chose is from the Gorgeous Girls line...totally my favorite paper ever and I will be getting it listed in the store, hopefully by early Monday morning :) I frantaged the edges, again this will be in the store soon too! The flowers are some of my favorite colors and they are from prima...will be in the store soon too - LOL! The die cut tree is the La La Land Heart Tree Die  and I used the Martha Stewart Branch Punch to punch some branches for under my flowers.

I wanted this to look like kind of a dark, mysterious night with a few stars and I thought the gold frontage looked a little like fireflies :)

Here is a close up of my journal words that I stamped on vellum:

This is part of the sentiment that comes with the Ching-Chou Kuik The Seahorse set. I completed my page with one of my favorite butterfly embellishments that I bought of Etsy.

Here is a close up of Dark Sirene:

I did the background around her with copics by dotting different colors and then blending them with the lightest yellow and teal I had. Then I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Shaded Lilac.

Be sure to check out what the other Designers have for you today!! Don't forget to leave comments on all the blogs for the most chances to win to be in our drawing on October 6th!! Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Today for my project I decided to ink up a stamp that I have had for a long time but have not had the chance to get inky!

This stamp is called The Moth and is from the Ching-Chou Kuik Collection from Sweet Pea Stamps. The thing I love about this line is the stamps look gorgeous in monochrome, with no color coloring, or with coloring. Very versatile! I decided to color mine up using copic markers. I stamped my image in memento tuxedo black ink on the xpress-it blending card.

Now be sure to check out what the other Designers have for you today! Don't forget to leave comments on all the blogs for the most chances to win! Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Katie Skiff

This is adorable! I love the super cute country feel of the card with the colors of the papers and the paper piecing. What an awesome layout too! The stitching adds the perfect touch! Such a beautiful job!!

Shanna Shands
Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink

Wow! Shanna always does such a super amazing job coloring her images! I don't have any copic markers yet, just my spectrum's but seeing the gorgeous effects she achieves with her shading I always want to run right out and buy some - LOL! We will be stocking copic markers soon so that will be my chance to try some out :) This is so pretty with the rolled roses and the ribbon too! Gorgeous card!

Lydia Walker

How adorable is this?? One of my favorite things to do is scrap recipes like this! I think that Lydia did an amazing job paper piecing her image. What a yummy sounding recipe too! There were a couple of things I haven't heard of like caster sugar... wonder what you would use here in the U.S. as a substitute? I wounder if it is like powder sugar? Hmmmm maybe I could just get Lydia to make me some and airmail them - LOL!

Marcy Dangcil
The Greeting Farm - Holiday Anya
Spellbinders Dies - 2011 Heirloom Ornament
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Frayed Burlap

This is so cute! Marcy's coloring is gorgeous as always! I love all the accents that Marcy uses, the bling and gems, the pom pom puff trim gorgeous flower and ribbon... all of it together is just stunning! Gorgeous job!

Kelli Hull
Impression Obsession - Santa Bridge

This is so gorgeous! I love the country, yet masculine feel of this card with the deep colors and the woods paper. Kelli did a beautiful job coloring this image up and I love the simple accents because it allows that gorgeous image to be the star! Love this!

Martha Stewart Punches - Cocoa Cup & Doily

This is so cute! Holly did a beautiful job paper piecing her image with those cute candy cane looking leggings! The colors are so pretty and this layout is amazing!  Ok... Holly is such an enabler... I NEED to own that cute little mug punch! How cute! I love the texture she added with the puff of marshmallow in it! Beautiful job!

WOW! The ladies all did AMAZING this week! I LOVE LOVE LOVE each design! I am definitely needing some stamping time after seeing these gorgeous projects! Awesome job ladies!

Thankful For You

Hi Stampers!

Today is Tuesday which means a new Loves Rubberstamps Blog Challenge! This week our theme is Thanksgiving. Here is what I came up with for my Design Team Inspiration project...

For my project, this image is actually a little witch but I cut the pointy end of the hat off and made it look like she has a fancy straw hat instead of a witch hat.  This adorable little "witch" is from Sweet Pea Stamps Elisabeth Bell Collection and is called Wispy Willow with Pumpkin. I thought it was so cute I wanted to use it for more than just Halloween! I colored her using Spectrum Noir markers.

My vertical panel is made by stamping the Food Word Collage Stamp from Impression Obsession multiple times to make my own background paper. My other papers that I used are from the Bo Bunny Apple Cider 6x6 paper pack.

The flower I had made about 6 months ago and it has been sitting on my desk staring at me with it's one pearl wondering if I would ever use it on a project. Well, I finally found the right one for it :) I had come across a video showing how to make a melted satin ribbon flower and had to try it right that second so that is how this flower came to be. I think they are really cool looking so I will be making some more. Here is a close up of my flower...

I accented my card with some flourishes cut from glitter paper for a touch of bling using My Favorite Things Die-Namics Fancy Flourish Die. My sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Collection - Turkey Time. The layout that I used is from Sketchy Colors:

Hope you will play along with us this week!
Happy Stampin!

The Cutting Cafe is also sponsoring our challenge this week at Loves Rubberstamps Challenges! Be sure to show us what you are creating...this week is Anything Goes!

Now on to today's blast of inspiration from our talented Design Team! Here we go....

Katie Skiff

I had to start with Katie's project because it is so perfect to honor our service men and women! I love this layout and the deep, rich blues in that paper with the kraft. What an adorable way to accent the ribbon with the bit of twine too! Simply beautiful!

Lydia Walker

OMGosh!! This is the cutest! Lydia placed her little critters on springs so they actually wobble and bounce around like they are jammin' out to some great music - LOL! I would be wiggling my card all day! They are getting DOWN with Karoke! Now obviously this bear is better singer than I am because his deer friend is there listening to him. My screeching clears rooms so I only sing in the car, when I am alone, or with the kids when I want to embarrass them so they say.... "MOM! SERIOUSLY!" LOL! I love this card!

Marcy Dangcil

WOWZERS! This is a stunning tag! Marcy did a beautiful job coloring her image and adding all those gorgeous pearls, bling and fibers for texture! I love the little heart charm on top too. I have been a huge fan of this collection for a long time and am so glad that we were able to add it to the store! Such beautiful designs!

Kelli Hull
C.C. Designs - Sweet November Noelle

This is such a pretty CAS design! I love how Kelli just added a touch of highlights to the wings and the dress and let that beautiful image be the star. This shows how you can even keep your colors really simple and still have an elegant and beautiful card.

Shanna Shands
My Mind's Eye - Papers

This is so pretty! I love the colors and how Shanna matched the purples in her image with her papers. Such a cute layout and those mini roses are gorgeous! This would make a sweet card for a lot of different occasions, you could just add different sentiments.

Olivia Marmara

This is so pretty! I love those soft pretty blues and how the lace and pearls add an elegance to this card. Reminds you of a super fancy tea party! Olivia colored her image perfectly to match those gorgeous papers!

Olivia Marmara -

These are soooo cute and would make a perfect gift for any person on your Christmas List! Olivia did an awesome job coloring her images and adding stickles to the design before transferring them to her candle. Have you ever wondered how do make these? Well... you are in for a treat because Olivia has created an easy to follow picture tutorial on her blog showing you how to do it!

I hope you enjoyed today's amazing projects! Be sure to leave a comment so you are in the drawing for next week!

Happy Stampin!

It's a Party...

Hi Stampers -

Today certainly wasn't a party for me - LOL! Spent the ENTIRE day getting poked and prodded at the doctor's office...Not Fun!

BUT this cutie sure is having a great time! This super cute card was created by Olivia and she used Party Play from Sweet Pea Stamps. This is from the Elisabeth Bell Collection. I just had a WHOLE TON of Sweet Pea Stamps come in that will be listed very soon so look for them :)

Olivia did a great job coloring this cutie to match the designer papers. Love the layout too! Those cute Birthday Wish Tickets are from Whimsy Stamps called Celebration Mini Tickets.

I am off to get the next Loves Rubberstamps Challenge ready to go!! Have a great night all!

                                       5. Leave a Comment on this post to show love to the DT and let
us know that you are our "Super Fan" and have done these 5 things!

Here we go....

This is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! I absolutely love these two colors together after seeing Shanna's card! This is a color scheme that I wouldn't ordinarily choose on my own (yellow is hard for me to use with anything other than browns - LOL) but this is just the cutest the way Shanna put it all together! Her coloring is GORGEOUS and I love how her roses match the pretty designer paper.

OMGosh! These are SUPER CUTE!!! Katie did an awesome job paper piecing her image with the Apple Cider papers, which is my favorite designer paper right now. I am a complete sucker for cooking and baking related projects because I love to scrap favorite family recipes. I haven't tackled tag making yet because most tags I see are very loaded with so many layers and textures that they intimidate me a little....ok a LOT - LOL! So I am really loving how Katie kept her tags very simple yet they are packed with cuteness! I would definately try something like those!

This is such a sweet card! I love the soft pretty colors that Marcy choose along with the embellishments!I love the pearl flourish pieces that mimic the flourishes in the image. One of the first things I was drawn to with Marcy's designs was her coloring ability which is just gorgeous! She does an amazing job!

Lydia Walker

This is sooooo cute! I LOVE the colors that Lydia chose and those accent flowers! Now can you believe that Lydia is brand new to coloring images with markers? She did a AMAZING job on this super cutie! I would never have guessed that she is a newbie to coloring! I really love the tones that she got in the hair, which is the hardest for me. I am still learning how to color with markers myself.  Lydia and I will learn and grow our talent together - LOL! I am so glad that Lydia decided to venture into the coloring world because this is absolutely adorable!

This is the absolute cutest little treat holder!! Holly was super lucky to be able to take a class with Irina Blount who owns La-La Land and this was one of many adorable projects that they made! Aren't these colors gorgeous? I love all the layers and the doily which reminds me a super bubble from the bath! Holly's coloring is amazing too! Make sure that you visit Holly's Blog because she has links to the instructions on making one of these cuties for yourself!

I love both of Olivia's super fun cards! Her cards always make me smile with her use of bright colors and fun patterns!

Olivia's Abbie card is so cute with the bright reds and blues and I really love how she outlined her sentiment. I will have to remember that trick because sometimes I accidently get ink around the edge of my rubber while inking and it transfers to my paper :)  Then instead of tossing it out ... I will save it for a card that I want to ink around the sentiment... Awesome!

Now... when it comes to Paper Piecing... Ms Olivia is the QUEEN! She has so many projects, like this cute witch ,where she uses this technique! It is one of her favorites and I can see why... she does it beautifully! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that cute witch dress! This is a super cute and fun Halloween card!

How cute is Kelli’s card? ADORABLE!! Kelli used one of the cutest Saturated Canary images I think anyway! She did a beautiful job coloring her up to match the vibrant purples and super fun, funky patterns on her papers! This would be an awesome birthday card for some lucky lady!

Here is an AWESOME video tutorial created by Katie Skiff using My Favorite Things - Die-Namics Lollipop Treats Die and Matching Stamp set!  TOO COOL!!

I hope you enjoyed our first Sensational Sunday Inspirations! You can visit each of our designers blogs for more information on their projects and to leave them some love by clicking their name! Don't forget to get your name in for our drawing by commenting on this post!

I hope you all had a great World Card-Making Day yesterday! I had to work so my world cardmaking day will be celebrated today... LOL!

Standing Pretty

Hi Stampers!

Today is Tuesday which means it is a new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge!!
This week's challenge is a Pinterest Photo Inspiration Challenge! I love these! Here is the photograph that we had to use:

Isn't this adorable? There are TONS of ways to be inspired from this photograph. You could be inspired by that sweet little girl herself. You could be inspired by the gorgeous dress with the lace, pearls, and the creamy white layers. You could choose to be inspired by that gorgeous flower headband. Or just the vintage, shabby chic feel of the photo! Or combine it all! Your choice that is what makes it so fun!

Here is what I came up with for my inspirational piece...

I have always loved the look of the white on white layers using different embossing folders and this was the perfect inspiration piece to try it out myself! I used the little girls dress as the inspiration for my background. I distressed the edges, but I did it after I used my embossing folder so it was kind of hard to do it without tearing it too much. I also punched the edges of the strips with my tiny heart border punch from Stampin Up!

With having an all white background I really wanted my little girl image to pop so I chose to color her with deep, rich colors. This adorable image is called Standing Pretty and is from the Elisabeth Bell Designs Collection from Sweet Pea Stamps.

Here is a close up of my image. I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the ribbon in her hair and the front of her dress for some added sparkle.

I hand drew the grass using my prismacolor pencils and went around the image with pencil first and blended it out. The added some very faint clouds and sponged sky. I wanted it to be really faint. I think I got a little too much glitter on her dress and I noticed my red bled a little into her arm. Red is such a booger sometimes! I still think she turned out pretty though :) I added little pearls to her dress and ribbons too.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be inspired by that gorgeous flower so I created my own "scrunch flower" This is my absolute favorite flower to make. I love how they turn out! Reminds me of little carnations which are one of my favorite flowers.

Here is another look at the main panel and flower together...

The little sentiment on the jewelry tag punch is from Stampin Up! I wanted just a subtle one nothing too big and this was perfect.

I also used this week's sketch from My Favorite Things because it had lots of awesome layers which I wanted for creating all of the white on white embossing. Here is a look at the sketch:

I am also entering this in the Elphine House challenge because it is for Elisabeth Bell images. Their challenge is a 3,2,1 challenge. I used 3 - Different Embossing Folders, 2 - Large Pearls, 1 - Homemade Scrunch Flower :)

This challenge was a lot of fun and our Design Team really rocked this one with creations that are simply STUNNING! But you will have to go visit the challenge blog to check them out... you won't be disappointed ;)

Hope you will play along with us....

Happy Stampin!
