The Cutting Cafe - TURKEY TIME!

Hi Stampers!

I have a super late Design Team Project for you today! I have been having some issues with my computer that I use with my camera and haven't been able to upload my projects until it was fixed. Soooo...I am posting my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe TODAY! Again I am so sorry that this is late...but better late than never :)

This week we could choose from the Turkey Shaped Card, the Gobble Word Shaped Card or the So Thankful Circle Word Printable Stamp Set.

Now...I happen to think that Regina's Turkey File is the cutest Turkey you will ever see so I chose to use that one :)

I used some Mulberry Paper for the head and body to make him look soft and fuzzy. I used some scraps from My Mind's Eye Mabel paper pack. For the lay out I used this week's Simon Says Stamp Sketch.

I didn't have a banner die for the little sentiment piece so I just cut a strip of cardstock and folded the ends so it looked like a banner. My sentiment is from My Favorite Things Thankful Leaves Stamp Set. And of course I have to sponge EVERYTHING using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain :) I LOVE that stuff!

Well I better get this posted so I can let Regina know that my project is up finally! Be sure to check out The Cutting Cafe Inspiration Post and see what my fellow Design Team Members created using these files. There are some super cute ideas! While you are there be sure to leave a comment and you could win some FREE Cutting Cafe files of your choice if you are this week's lucky commenter :)

Be sure to also check out Indah's Inspiration Project for you today and her VIDEO TUTORIAL on making a shadow box card! Such a cute project! You can click on Video Tutorial or just scroll down :)

Let's Get BASTED!

Hi Stampers!

I will have TWO posts for you today! First up is my post for this week's new Love's Rubberstamps challenge! This week we want to see FALL LEAVES or PUMPKINS on your project! Or you can be adventurous and use both :)

Here is my project...

I used the C.C. Designs Monkey Feet Tom Turkey image and colored him with my prismacolor pencils because I wanted him to be soft looking. My papers are from the Authentique Thankful Paper pack. My embossed panel I created using a Sizzix embossing folder called Autumn Words (I think) and the cardstock I used is the Tim Holtz Core'dinations Distress Rusty Hinge. After embossing it, I lightly rubbed a nail file over the top to sand the words. I will be getting this cardstock listed in the store soon :)

Here is a closer look at my sentiment. You can see I layered some brown skeleton leaves behind the sentiment for my Fall Leaves :)

This sentiment cracks me up :D It is actually a Digi from Whimsie Doodles.

I also used a sketch for my layout from Sketch 'N Stash:

I hope you enjoyed my project! Be sure to check back later this morning for my Crafty Sentiments Designs - Design team post :)

Come play along with us! Have a great day!

Warm Apple Pie

Hi Stampers!

Guess What??? Last week I was contacted by the sweet Summer, who owned Belles 'N Whistles. Sadly, Belles has now closed their doors and Summer asked me if I wanted to purchase their remainder stock. I said .. OF COURSE - LOL! And guess what came in the mail today?? Yep... new Belles 'N Whistles whoooo hooo! 283 to be exact! I will be working hard getting these in the store!! There are some images that are already in there, but quite a few NEW IMAGES that we didn't have so that is exciting! Now... because we just bought all of her remaining stock...this is our absolute last shipment so if there are images you were wanting...snag them up because when they are gone...they are gone!

Olivia's card today is perfect for two..well three...actually more like four reasons but who is counting! LOL!

1. She used a Belles 'N Whistles stamp on her card
2. It is one that we didn't have listed in the store... BUT NOW WE WILL... because it was one that came today...so YAY YAY YAY!!
3. It is perfect for Thanksgiving which will be here before you know it...and fits in this week's
Thanksgiving Challenge which you still have a few hours left to enter
4. BECAUSE IT IS JUST SO ADORABLE!

Didn't I tell you it is adorable? Olivia did a great job coloring her image with a mix of both spectrum noir markers and copics. I love the bright, rich Autumn inspired colors she chose and that turquoise gives it a great pop! In order to use the alcohol ink markers and not have her black ink run, Olivia stamped her image using memento tuxedo black ink on the Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth White Cardstock for alcohol markers.

Well... I have lots of things to get done! So I better get crackin!

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check all of the NEW ITEMS listed in the store! We have been adding lots - with tons more to come!!

Happy Stampin!

Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch

Hi Stampers!

Happy Holly-Day to you! I can't belive that Thanksgiving is next week already! This will be the first Thanksgiving that I won't have to work at my other job in about 7 years! Which means I should probably cook the traditional feast of turkey and all the good stuff that goes with it. My favorite part is the pumpkin pie, because we only have it once a year on Thanksgiving. Why, I have no idea because they are easy to make and are yummy so there is no reason just to have it on Thanksgiving only - in my opinion - LOL!

Speaking of pumpkins... Holly created an absolutely adorable card using Luka with Pumpkin from La La Land! I think this is one of my super favorites from this line!

Isn't he CUTE?? Check out the awesome paper piecing that Holly did on his hat, pumpkin and it even looks like she did his socks too - LOL! I love the little rosy cheeks! It looks like he spent the day picking the perfect pumpkin out on a crisp, fall day. The cute pumpkin on the left is made using a C.C. Designs Cutters Die - Pumpkin. Holly accented her card perfectly by adding some yummy card candi - metallique copper and she also added a Fishtail Flag behind the circle panel which she created using Die-Namics Fishtail Flag Stax Die set from My Favorite Things. I love how Holly sponged just a touch of cantalope memento ink around her circle to give it that extra little pop of color. I think this is a super sweet card!

Be sure you are keeping an eye on our newest added items in the store... we have lots of fun, new items being added!

Have a safe and exciting weekend!

Thankful For You

Hi Stampers!

Today is Tuesday which means a new Loves Rubberstamps Blog Challenge! This week our theme is Thanksgiving. Here is what I came up with for my Design Team Inspiration project...

For my project, this image is actually a little witch but I cut the pointy end of the hat off and made it look like she has a fancy straw hat instead of a witch hat.  This adorable little "witch" is from Sweet Pea Stamps Elisabeth Bell Collection and is called Wispy Willow with Pumpkin. I thought it was so cute I wanted to use it for more than just Halloween! I colored her using Spectrum Noir markers.

My vertical panel is made by stamping the Food Word Collage Stamp from Impression Obsession multiple times to make my own background paper. My other papers that I used are from the Bo Bunny Apple Cider 6x6 paper pack.

The flower I had made about 6 months ago and it has been sitting on my desk staring at me with it's one pearl wondering if I would ever use it on a project. Well, I finally found the right one for it :) I had come across a video showing how to make a melted satin ribbon flower and had to try it right that second so that is how this flower came to be. I think they are really cool looking so I will be making some more. Here is a close up of my flower...

I accented my card with some flourishes cut from glitter paper for a touch of bling using My Favorite Things Die-Namics Fancy Flourish Die. My sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Collection - Turkey Time. The layout that I used is from Sketchy Colors:

Hope you will play along with us this week!
Happy Stampin!

Turkey Table Manners

Hi Stampers!

Today I want to share with you my design team project for The Cutting Cafe! This week we are getting ready to prepare for Thanksgiving and Regina asked us to showcase a few of her super cute Thanksgiving files. Now you know me... I usually can't just pick one because they are too cute and today is no different - LOL!

I wanted to make a cute wall hanging for my Thanksgiving decor. Since this Holiday is all about family, being thankful for all the blessings in your life, good food and family gatherings ... I thought it would be fun to make a sign to remind of us of good table manners.... turkey style!

That super cute Turkey is made by paper piecing the turkey pieces from Regina's Turkey Shaped Card. The only thing I did different was adding different eyes. The "Did Someone Say Turkey" sentiment is from the Thanksgiving Day printable stamp set.

To make the bottom part of my wall hanging I used the Gobble Shaped word card and matching sentiment. Instead of making a folded card - I just cut the card in half and paper pieced the letters on top. I used some hemp twine to make it hang from the top piece.

Most of the designer papers that I used are from the Authentique Paper pack called Thankful.
My "Turkey Table Manners" are computer generated.

Here are close up pictures of the top half and the bottom half so you can get a better look!

And here is a better look at the Bottom Half!

I hope you enjoyed my project today as much I wall enjoy it hanging on my wall :)

Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Blog and see what my fellow design team members created for an extra blast of inspiration!! Regina also gives away prizes so be sure and leave a comment while you are there!

Have a great day all!

The Cutting Cafe - Fall Projects

Hi Stampers!

Today I want to share my inspiration post for The Cutting Cafe. This week Regina gave us a choice of three different beautiful Fall sets to use on our project. We could choose the Acorn Shaped Card, Welcome Fall Printable Stamp Set, or the Autumn Days Printable Stamp Set.

I loved both of the printable stamp sets and couldn't decide which I wanted to use - so I made TWO projects - LOL - that way I didn't have to pick just one!

The first project I made is a Matchbook Treat Holder that I made to fit the Apple Cider Travel Sticks.

Here is the outside. I used the Autumn Days Printable Stamp set on this project. That gorgeous Fall Words background and the Apple Cider Circle Saying are just 2 of the 16 images that come in this set. The Apple Cider Mug is a stamp that I had from Gourmet Rubber Stamps that I thought would be perfect to use with the Apple Cider Word Circle. I colored my mug using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers.

Here is a peek at the inside of the matchbook:

For my second project I totally loved the Apples and the Baskets in the Welcome Fall Printable Stamp Set and knew I wanted to create my own "basket" background to pop a pretty bushel of apples on.

To create my basket background I dug into my hoard of the long retired and my all time FAVORITE Stampin Up! cardstock... Creamy Caramel. I cut my cardstock into 1/2" strips and then ran them through my cuttlebug using a wood grain texture plate. I then sponged the tops with close to cocoa ink to make the wood grain pop, then sponged all the edges with early espresso to define them even more. I then created a weave with my strips and added brads to look like a basket edge. If you like to create your own backgrounds too...that is this week's challenge at our challenge blog so be sure and play :)

My basket and apples are colored with spectrum noir markers. I added white gel pen to my basket to make the stripes look like leather stitched trim, and added mini brads to the basket as well. I also added white gel pen highlights to my apples to make them appear shiny and used to my white pen to create the faux stitching on my gingham table cloth.

Here is a close up of the apples and basket:

This project is actually a little folder that opens up to hold two packets of apple cider mix. You could also put hot cocoa packets in there too, fits either one.

Here I stamped an image from the Flourishes Stamp Set - Apple of My Eye and then added the Simple Pleasures sentiment from The Cutting Cafe's - Autumn Days Set.

Well I hope you enjoyed my projects today! Here is one last look of both together :)

Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe's Blog on Wednesday to see all the projects the Design Team made with these beautiful sets! PLUS if you leave a comment on the post ... Regina draws one lucky person who will win their choice of 3 files from the store! Very cool!

Have a great night all & thanks for stopping by!
