Look Who's A Big Girl Now!

Hi Stampers!

Wow! It has been AGES since I got to post anything on here! The other Design Team ladies have been doing an awesome job during my hiatus dealing with all our family emergencies keeping you inspired with their stunning projects. It really felt like things would never start to look up, but they finally are :)

I wanted to get back to my Design Team duties for The Cutting Cafe  for what short time there is left for this session. I have to say that Regina has been so amazing and supportive, and extremely patient while letting me take the time to handle everything going on with my family this last month and half. It really means the world to me. Thank you so much Regina!

Now you are going to have to go easy on me today because this is literally the first thing I have made in about a month! I felt like I was a new stamper - LOL! I even was shaking when I started to color because I didn't want to mess it up - LOL!

This week we got to use the SUPER ADORABLE new printable stamp set called Big Girl Elisha Jean and Friends. These are larger versions of Regina's adorable character stamps. I have to say that I really LOVE this size, they are so cute and fun to color. I used the Ruby. J. image from the set for my card.

I paper pieced her dress. The seed packet and watermelon are from Flourishes Stamps. My designer papers are from an old October Afternoon pad I had.

Here is a close up of Ruby. J.

I think she is super cute :)

And speaking of Big Girls... I thought I would share a few pictures of my little niece Zaena. She was born a little over 9 weeks premature. She has been gaining weight pretty steadily and is off her oxygen. She is starting to take milk from the breast and is doing awesome! She still has her feeding tube, but she is getting less through that every day. She is up to 4 lbs 4 oz now, so 2 more ounces and she will have gained a whole pound since she was born :)

Well, I better get this submitted! Be sure to check out The Cutting Cafe Inspiration Blog to see how my fellow teamies used their images! While you are there leave a comment and you could be this week's lucky prize winner of some free files from The Cutting Cafe! How fun is that?!?!

Thanks for stopping by today! It feels good to start getting back in the swing of things :)

Hello Baby

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Happy Holly-Day Monday.  I hope this week is starting out really well for everyone.  Did you happen to catch the NFL games on Sunday?  I am so bummed the 49ers are not going to the Superbowl.  So bummed.  But I am a Paton Manning fan, so I will be routing for the Broncho's.  I got up at 5:00 am on Sunday to make my cards this week, lol.  I knew it would be all day Football, so I wanted to have plenty of time to get them done.  I already had an idea of what I was going to do, so that helped.  I made this card in a little over an hour.  It went together super easy.

The card went together so fast because the Blueprints Die-Namics work for themselves.  They are really a no brainer and since there is nothing to measure and plenty to choose from, there are several options for card designs.   They really work when you have pattern papers that are stand alones, or are so bold they kind of dominate the focal point.   This is for a friend who is expecting her first baby.  The colors are more teal and yellow and the flowers lend to a feminine touch without it being all pink and purple, lol.   I just need to find a cute little gift and I'm all ready now.

Have you seen the NEW ITEMS lately?  Laura has added some new Whiff of Joy!!!  I saw this one:
CARING THOUGHTS Rubber Stamp Elisabeth Bell Sympathy Collection from Whiff of Joy
And actually emailed her to add it to an existing order I have, lol.    There is also new MFT preorders:
**PREORDER** New! DIE-NAMICS BLUEPRINTS 11 DIE SET from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps**PREORDER** New! DIE-NAMICS ROSE WITH OVERLAY DIE SET from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps
**PREORDER** New! HEART BALLOONS Clear Stamp Set Die-Namics Companion Collection from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps**PREORDER** New! DIE-NAMICS STAGGERED HEART BORDER DIE SET from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps**PREORDER** New! LOVE IS IN THE AIR Clear Stamp Set Pure Innocence Collection from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps

These are "some" of my preorder items.   Now I want to take a minute and explain what a preorder is.  Laura lists "preorder" items with set DATES that she will be ordering.  I think she will actually extend it a day or two just to make sure everyone gets their orders in on time.  Then she will order from her supplier.  That will have to ship to Laura.  Now Laura has a couple jobs, plus the store.  So unpacking will need to be done on a day off or at some point where she is not working a 12 hour shift.  But her goal and priority is to get her customers their orders ASAP!  So then she has to pack and ship the orders out.  I actually am not expecting these to get to me until sometime in the first week of February.   And I am okay with that.  I know some folks get excited when they don't get a notice in a day or two that their orders are not shipped, but I think they may have missed the preorder notice, or don't realize that an estimated shipping time might take longer due to weather.  So I wanted to just throw that information out there.  I have never not received anything I ordered from Laura and in fact, I usually get my things in the mail before I expected them.

I also preordered some of the Casual Friday Stamps!!!

**PREORDER** EXCLAMATIONS Clear Stamp Set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps**PREORDER** KA-BOOM Clear Stamp Set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps**PREORDER** RAD Clear Stamp Set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps

These are just a few of them that I want, lol.  The order goes in on these preorders in just a few days, so be sure to get yours in fast so you won't have to wait for the next round of preorders.    My Grandson is forever saying, "Like a Boss."  My son uses the word Dude, all the time and I am the OMGawsh, lol.  And who doesn't love to fist bump? lol.

Be sure to join us in our New Challenge tomorrow, or if you are off on this Holly-Day, you have a few more hours to join in on our Metal Challenge

Thanks for Looking in on us!

Hello....Baby!

Happy Holly Day-Friday Stampers!

Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend! This is my weekend to work but I am hoping to sneak some crafty time in here and there and maybe hit the movie Gravity this weekend. We will see! I have to catch up on Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries since it was just released on netflix yesterday and season 5 has just started. Thank goodness I finally joined the land of technology and got DVR so I can record it :)

Holly has the sweetest project for you today! She created an adorable card that has a pocket for a gift card on the inside! It is so CUTE!

I think it such a great idea and such a pretty way to give someone a gift card! Check out that AMAZING Cloudy sky!! Looks awesome and Holly's coloring is gorgeous! I love the designer papers that she chose too, I really love the vintage style of them.

Thanks for stopping by today! If you get some crafty time this week be sure to play along in our Anything Goes Challenge!

Have a great day!

Signs of Spring

Hi Stampers!

Well, my Step-Dad is doing pretty good today! The antibiotics seem to be working so far so that is good news. He will have to stay in the hospital at least another day or two and then he will continue antibiotics and will be off work for a few months. Hopefully he continues to get better and has no set backs :)

Today we get to see some Inspiration from Ceal! She has a beautiful clean and simple design for you today!

Isn't this like a breath of fresh, Spring air? Ceal used the beautiful Flourishes stamp set Signs of Spring and Tag Lines. She colored the stem with her copic sketch markers and then paper pieced the flower head. She used the Tulip frame embossing folder from Stampin Up! to frame her piece in. This makes a simple, yet beautiful thank you card when you would need something quick!

Well...I will be back in just a few minutes with a bonus post for you today... :)

Pure Innocence Sweetness

Hi Stampers!

Happy Thursday! We are just now starting to get some snow from the big storm that is supposed to hit. Nothing major yet, only about 1/4" and no winds or nothing so far. Hopefully it stays that way and the weather people blew it way out of proportion  :)

Today's card from Ceal does a little weather forecasting of it's own...I have to say I like the forecast :)

This super cute CAS design uses a Pure Innocence Cutie from My Favorite Things. Those clouds were created using the Die-Namics Cloud Trio and the sentiment is from Flourishes. I love the colors and the cute paper piecing that Ceal did! It is sooo cute!

I just added a few new Pure Innocence stamps and a few new release Die-Namics into the store! Be sure to check them out! I am not done yet but my eyes were crossing because I am so tired. I am going to take a nap and then will be listing more stuff later after I wake up :)

Have a great night all!

Special Delivery!!

Hi Stampers!

Today is my design team day for The Cutting Cafe and this week we were given the Postage Stamp Shaped Card as our piece to design with.  Now, this is a shaped card and Regina told us we had free reign on how to decorate it! Well, usually that is a great thing EXCEPT...that this whole week my Mojo has been on vacation and no matter what I tried, I just haven't been able to make anything worth a darn! Soooo...I have been pouring over the internet, looking for inspiration and then last night when I still was no closer to figuring out what I wanted to do, I remembered a super gorgeous card that my coloring idol, Alyce from Kit and Clowder had done with the most gorgeous two-tone colored dress...AND... I remembered that she had made a coloring video on how she did it. So I decided to watch it and see if that helped spark some Mojo. Well, when you watch one of Alyce's videos, you are instantly hooked and I ended up watching all 16 of her videos...LOL! Yes, all 16! BUT... I have to say that it was TOTALLY WORTH every minute! I really learned a TON and besides now needing every copic color they make, I was sooo inspired to try some of her technics out!

Now, I only have 12 copics so far, pathetic I know, and they are all skin and hair colors, but I was super excited that I actually had the four colors that Alyce used in her Flynn - hair & skin coloring video, so I could try her hair technique with the same colors!! YAY! I had to compromise on the skin colors because I only had 2 of the 4 that she uses, so I used the blush color I had R20 and in place of her E000 base color I used a Spectrum Noir Color - F2. But I still followed her principles. I had to use Spectrum Noirs on my clothes and also to try out Alyce's Stippling Background Technique also :)

Here is my final result....

EEEEKKKK!!! I still can't believe that I colored this - LOL! I can't stop looking at it :) This image is called Welcome Little One from Crafty Sentiments Designs. That cute little postage stamp saying is one that comes with the Postage Stamp Shaped Card template! I made my first rolled flower (purple one) and placed it on top of a Fancy Flourish Die-Namics. I actually layered the flourish behind my image panel because I didn't want to cover part of the image up.

I decided to make this into an easel card so here is a look at this open...

That cute little postcard was in my Simple Stories paper pack called Baby Steps. I cut it out using die from the My Favorite Things Dies-Namics Postage Stamp Stax, sponged it with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink, then stamped it with a sentiment from the Hello Baby stamp set from Flourishes.

This card took me F-O-R-E-V-E-R because after I colored my image and was so impressed with myself that I was scared to mess it up - LOL! This image took me about 4 hours to color because I am as slow as molasses since I am learning! I could really tell a difference in how I was able to do the hair with copics and get the super fine feather strokes with them, then when I tried to do the clothing and had to use spectrums. Their nib is not very flexible and doesn't have as fine a tip so I couldn't get the super fine strokes like I could with copics. But, I have to make do with what I have and both types of markers just take practice. After watching Alyce's videos I think my coloring vastly improved already!

Here is a closer look at my Momma-To-Be...

And if you want to see the coloring difference...here is my very last coloring attempt from 2 weeks ago using the same copic hair colors as on my card today....

It's amazing I think!! When you get a chance check out Alyce's videos, she is such a talented lady and a great teacher, they really are an amazing resource if you are just starting out coloring with copics like I am.

But first... be sure to pop over to The Cutting Cafe and get yourself this super cute Postage Stamp Shaped Card! You will love it!

If you want to know the colors I used on my card today...

Skin - Spectrum Noir - F2 - Copics - E00, E11, E13, R20
Hair - Copics - E11, E13, E15, E18
Dress - Spectrum Noirs - IB1, IB2, IB3, BT7
Bow - Spectrum Noirs - LV1, LV2, LV3
Stippling Background - IG1, IG2, IG3, Blender Pen

Seed Packet Gift

Hi Stampers!

Sorry for the late post today! I decided at the last minute that I wasn't happy with my Design team project that I created originally for The Cutting Cafe so I decided to start over..LOL...this morning...and I just finished because I am a mega slow at coloring! But I am super happy with my project now so that is all that matters :) How those people that make such detailed and beautifully colored cards just whip them out I will never know...I am just not that kind of crafter.

This week at The Cutting Cafe we are taking a break from Valentine's Day and sending some sunshine instead! We could choose to use the Sunshine Word Shaped Card, The Seed Packet Holder Template, or the One Spring Day Printable Stamp Set.

I decided to use the Seed Packet Holder Template. I love this little template and I will use it a lot! It is so cute and goes perfect with my Seeds of Friendship stamp set from Flourishes that I have been dying to get inky. You can just create all kinds of scenes on your packet and them pop it right on Regina's Seed Packet Holder! Here is my version...

I used the template a little bit different because I wanted the top to be open. Instead of gluing the tab at the top closed, I just cut it off and then made a little tab slot to pull the inside out easier. Then I have the flower seed packet mounted on a little pull out insert.

The little scene on my seed packet was created using Primrose Garden Flowers and the Roses and Tulips both are from Crafty Sentiments Designs. I have had both of these stamps awhile and this is the first time I have got to color either of them up! I used spectrum noir alcohol ink markers on everything except the hair and skin, I used copics for those. I am still a newbie at coloring with markers so it takes me super long time but I love how this turned out. I fussy cut the little girl and the front flower pot out and mounted them on dimensionals.

The "Water Everyday" sentiment and the "For Your Garden" sentiments both come with the Seed Packet Holder Template. I sponged everything with my Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink (going to need gallons of this stuff - love it!)

Here is a close up of my little girl image and the flowers...

Ok... now please do not laugh at my next picture because I had every intention of getting a real flower seed packet for my project but didn't make it to the store...so I printed one that I found of the internet to use as a substitute so you could see how it works a little better :)

Anyway...I hope you like my Seed Packet Holder Template! You should get this file because it makes super cute gifts for someone and you can decorate it for any occasion that you are needing! With the way I used the file with the top open and a tab, you could easily mount this on a card front and give a little extra gift with your cards! Super fun and I will be using this file a lot!

Please pop on over to The Cutting Cafe Blog and see what the other Design Team Members created this week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Snowy Greetings

Hi Stampers!

This will be a TWO-POST day because I wasn't able to get yesterday's post up. My Grandma went into the hospital because she has a nasty infection and they needed to give her IV antibiotics. So I was there and then came home and fell asleep by accident before I got my post on. I didn't think Holly would appreciate me texting her when I woke up about 3am from the couch to go to bed - LOL!

Here is Ceal's adorable card that she created using the Flourishes Snow Day stamp set.

I think that this is such a pretty color scheme and I love the embossing that Ceal did on her fishtail strips. The twine and snowflakes from Martha Stewart punches add the perfect accents!

I will be back in just a few minutes with Holly's Inspirational card :)

Have a great night - Laura

Butterfly Garden

Happy Saturday Stampers!

I hope you have an exciting weekend planned. I have to work this weekend so no super fun stuff for me, although I do plan on trying to sneak in some crafty time :)

It is time for a Saturday Stunner from Jacqueline! Her card today reminded me of a gorgeous butterfly garden in the Summer. I could use a dose of Summer because it is so cold here today!

I made this extra large so you could see all those textures, layers, colors, and details that she added! I think this turned out so pretty! She colored those gorgeous flowers and butterflies using prismacolor pencils. They are from the Butterflies & Blossom stamp set by Flourishes. Do you see that pretty flower in the upper right hand corner with the charms hanging from it? Those are from prima and it is from the Allegra collection and I will be getting those listed in the store very soon :) There are 12 colors of flowers in this collection and they are all beautiful :) To read how Jacqueline put all of this together be sure to visit her blog post.

If you haven't got your name in this week's blog candy give-away you still have time! We will draw the winner and announce it on tomorrow's Sensational Sunday Post. All you have to do to be eligible is leave a comment...

Have a great weekend!

Winter Cardinal

Hi Stampers!

Well this is the last shopping weekend for Christmas! I am finishing mine up today, just have a couple of things left to get. I didn't get my Christmas cards made this year (as usual) I think my New Year Resolution will be to make about 2 or 3 Christmas cards every month so I will have some to send at Christmas time. Now Jacqueline has been rocking out some gorgeous Christmas cards since about September!

I love this fat little cardinal! This is an image from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps who is this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Guest Sponsor. You will want to be sure to play along because you could win some of their awesome digi stamps :)

Jacqueline did such a beautiful job with her layers and all of the textures. I always seem to see something new whenever I look at her beautiful work! That gorgeous sentiment is from the Flourishes stamp set called A Season of Celebration.

If you are traveling for the Holidays drive safely!
Happy Stamping!

Pretty Poinsettia

Hi Stampers!

Today we have a beautiful and festive inspirational piece from Jacqueline. She has been making some gorgeous winter and Christmas cards. Take a look at today's card:

I love all the different layers of color and texture that Jacqueline added! The colors are so pretty too! This gorgeous stamp set is called Poinsettia and Pine from Flourishes. Jacqueline has all the details on how she created this stunner on her blog!

I am in my final hour of a suuuuuuuppppppppeeeeerrrrr long 12 hr shift and am ready to go home and take a nap - LOL!

If you are out and about holiday shopping today - stay safe!

Rejoice

Hi Stampers!

Hope you are having a great day so far! Today is Ceal's day to share some inspiration with you! She has created a beautiful Christmas card using a gorgeous stamp from Flourishes called Rejoice.

This is such a pretty clean and simple design. The embossing is a perfect backdrop for this image. I love how Ceal stamped the image on a die cut and then popped that layer over the embossing. The colors are so pretty. Do you see all that glitter that the camera picked up? I bet this is super sparkly and just gorgeous in person!

Have a wonderful night!
Happy Stampin!

Waiting For Santa

Hi Stampers!

Today is Tuesday which means we start a new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge today :) This week we are being sponsored by the awesome KennyK! Our design team created inspirational projects using images from his amazing line of stamps! This week our theme is Let It Snow - so we want to see some sort of snow feature on your project. Here is what I came up with for my project.

I decided I wanted to use a non-traditional Christmas color and image for my card so I decided to use the Queen's Cutie from the Glam Gang Series. I made this "window sill" for her to sit on while she is waiting for Santa. Little does she know he is streaking by in the sky out the window :) Here is a closer look at the window area:

I used A Close To My Heart stamp set that I had for my Santa Image and then an old PSX stamp for the tree line. I covered whisper white cardstock in the Midnight Muse ink from Stampin Up to create my night sky before stamping my images in whisper white ink and covering with iridescent ice to make it look like snow. I drew snowflakes with a white gel pen.

Here is a close up of my Queen's Cutie...

I colored her with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers and then cut her out and popped her up on dimensionals. My Sentiment is from the Flourishes stamp set Dear Santa. My background paper is from the Authentique 6x6 Paper Pack Peaceful.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to play along with us this week :)

Happy Stampin!

Believe... Or Else!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Wednesday! Today I will be sharing with you my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe! This week we were using one of Regina's adorable word shaped card files that are PERFECT for the Christmas Holiday Season! She has quite a few that you can choose from too. I chose to use the Believe Word Shaped Card File for my project.

I knew when I saw this card that I wanted to pair it with a Santa and have a little fun with it :)
The Santa image is one of my favorite images from Whipper Snapper that I have had for quite a few years! My little Rudolph Peeker is a paper piecing that I did. The Scroll and the Coal Bucket are from the stamp set Dear Santa from Flourishes. I thought it turned out pretty cute and makes me giggle :)

I am also super excited because Regina is keeping me around for another session with the Design Team!! YAY!!! I really love working with Regina and her awesome files and all of the super talented ladies that Regina has on her Design Team!

Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Blog this afternoon and see all of the adorable cards created using different Christmas themed word cards! Regina always has the chance to win an amazing prize package and sometimes some deals that you don't want to miss out on!
