Fresh Cuts Thank You

Good morning everyone!

Today's card was inspired by a set of cards I saw on splitcoaststampers made by Cheilah.

This uses the stamp set Fresh Cuts which I personally think make elegant looking cards when the main image is used in a single color. Mine is made using Soft suede ink for the main image and sentiment and the edges sponged. These were layered on soft suede cardstock and then onto a base of so saffron which was stamped with the vine in matching ink. I added the smallest pearl jems to the centers of the flowers on the left hand side to give an extra bit of bling. You can make this style card in lots of color combinations... bashful blue & chocolate chip, cherry cobbler & early espresso, real red & crumb cake....you get the hint... pretty much any - LOL! This card measures a square 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" so it doesn't cost extra postage to mail.

Make a batch of these in different color combinations with a little box and you have a great gift. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Spring Pick Up!

Good morning everyone!

Hope your day is going well so far! I am just about ready to hit the sack after a long night at work! With the days getting a little warmer I have been in the mood to create some sweet spring & summer cards. I think the Loads of Love Set is super cute and thought a little flower truck would be cute so here is what I came up with:

Isn't that the cutest little pick up? I used a piece of the bashful blue retired hostess exclusive designer paper that I found in my stash to paper piece the pick up. You can use any designer series paper you want to match the theme of your card! That is what makes the paper piecing technique so fun on this little pick up! It is really easy to do just stamp the truck image image on whisper white. I then colored the tires, bumpers, and created the "dirt". Then I restamped the truck on the pattern paper and then cut it out and glued right over the top of the previous truck image. The oval I cut using my coluzzle. To make the chocolate chip oval I just cut the next coluzzle size up from the one around my truck then free hand cut it down so the layer wasn't as large and because I can't cut in a perfect oval.... I distressed the edge to hide the bumps :)

This color combination is also one from the Color Coach....
Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery & Chocolate Chip love these colors together!

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for taking a peak!

Here is what I used:

Stampin Up! Stamp Sets: Loads of Love

Paper: Stampin Up! Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Ink: Stampin Up! Classic ink pads in basic black, old olive, chocolate chip, basic gray, real red

Accessories: Stampin Up! blender pen, chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, finial press embossing folder, big shot, coluzzle, distressing tool

Summer Hydrangea

Good Morning everyone!

Today's card is the second project that I made using the Because I Care Hostess set. This card is super quick to make and turned out gorgeous if I do say so myself! :)

This would be a great card to have in your stash because it can be used for many types of occasions.

This is a square card that measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" so it does not cost any extra postage to mail.

To make it I inked up the stamp with versamark then used my elegant eggplant inkpad to put ink just on the flower head. Then I used my old olive marker on the leaves and stem and stamped on whisper white. I then clear embossed the flower. Added a little more color to the leaves with my marker. Cut the circle out using my coluzzle and then sponged the edges with early espresso. Mounted on the scallop circle die. That is it! Hope you enjoy it! I want to try to do this with some other colors too. I have seen this flower done with melon mambo and it is so pretty.... hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Frame Illusion Hydrangea

Good Morning everyone!

One of my favorite Hostess sets in the current Idea Book is Because I Care. It features this stunning hydrangea flower stamp. I haven't played with it for quite awhile so I thought I would break it out and make a few things with it. Here is one of the cards that I made with it...

This card is made using the Frame Illusion technique that I learned how to do from a super talented lady named Michelle Zindorf. She is an amazing artist and creates very easy to follow tutorials on her blog. She posted a tutorial quite awhile ago on this technique which you can see here.

I think I haven't played with the Because I Care stamp set very much because the flower to me seemed a little intimidating to color. The way I did mine for this card was super simple! I inked my stamp with versamark and then the flower head I inked with Elegant Eggplant. I then used my Old Olive marker to ink the leaves and stem and then stamped it in the center of my panel. I then clear embossed the flower. Then I colored my leaves and stem using my old olive marker. I used a blender pen and perfect plum ink to color the flower head. Because the blender pen fades out when it starts running out of ink it created the shading and hue changes for me. I then went over the whole thing with a versamarker and clear embossed again. That is it! I used the flourish from Elements of Style on my frame. The rest I just followed Michelle's tutorial. I did use a chocolate chip marker for my shadow because I don't have the soft suede but the rest is pretty much the same. Be sure to check back tomorrow when I show you my second card that I made with the Because I Care Stamp Set! Have a great day!

Here is what I used on my card:

Birthday Bakery Awning Card

Good morning everyone!

I had a chance yesterday to do some stamping and decided to make some challenge cards!

I came across a website called Create with Connie & Mary and they post some challenges each week using Stampin Up! only products. I thought it would be fun to try.

This week they gave you this picture of a cake for inspiration:

Here is my card:

I have been wanting to try one of these Awning Cards for awhile and thought this was a perfect time to make one! I used the blue & white stripes from the cake as my awning colors. The gold swirls on the cake inspired my "building wall" and of course you have to have lots of yummy cakes in the "window". It is hard to see in the picture but on my white frosting areas I used iridescent ice to make them sparkle. Lots of fun! This was the first time I got to use the Birthday Bakery Hostess exclusive set. It is super cute! Get your's by hosting a workshop, or by placing an order of $150 or more because they earn hostess credits also! Contact me for more information!

Here is what I used on my card:

Paper: Stampin Up! Pacific Point, Whisper White

Ink: Stampin Up! Classic ink pads in Versamark, Pacific Point, Real Red, Basic Black, Baja Breeze
