Just drop a house on her!

Happy Halloween!

Do you have any frightening plans this evening? I don't, unless you call doing some dishes frightening...then I will - LOL! I plan on staying home and passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters, so that will be a lot of fun. We get a lot of really little kids and they have some of the cutest outfits these days! Not like when my kids were little.

Speaking of Halloween... this week the design team for The Cutting Cafe was given the task of creating a project using one of Regina's adorable Halloween files. I ended up choosing a printable stamp set called Halloween Time. This file has 55 images!! And they are all super cute too! I chose this one for the adorable witch legs because I wanted to make a cute scene that looks like a house just fell on her! Check it out...

This was such a  fun card to make! To create my scene, I used sponges and strategically placed post it notes. First, I masked off the grass area and sponged it with old olive. I added some grass clumps using old olive and garden green markers from Stampin Up! I removed those post its and then kept moving them up at 1/2" intervals sponging crumb cake by each one to make the siding. Since I am entering this card in the Top Tip Tuesday challenge... here is my Top Tip - When you are creating the siding, place your card front on grid paper to line up where you want your post its placed. You can have them go off the edge a little bit and just line them up with the lines on the grid paper. This makes it fast and easy to make straight lines at evenly spaced intervals. I use the Stampin Up! grid paper which also includes rulers on the side of it.

I colored my witch legs using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers. I also added some iridescent ice to the witch's stockings and buckle straps on her shoes for some shimmer. I fussy cut them out and then had to make them a little shorter to fit on my card. Then I just glued them down and added a strip of grass cut using the C.C. Designs Cutters Grass Die.

My window is actually a Poppy Stamps Die called the Grand Madison Window. It is supposed to have 4 window panes. It is huge and takes up almost a whole card front! So , to make it work for my card, I cut my die cut in half and glue the top and bottom pieces together to create a two-pane smaller window. I glued it to keep the crown molding in place on both the top and bottom pieces. Then I just added some basic black cardstock to the back. I love how it turned out! I am also super excited because we will be carrying these dies soon at Loves Rubberstamps! YAY! Some spooky eyes and a hand drawn spider web in the corner finishes it off.

My creepy, icky spider is from the Die-Namics Spider Web Die from My Favorite Things. I added some sparkly green glitter eyes for some extra creepiness and popped it up on a dimensional. My sentiment is from the same printable stamp set as the witch legs.

Hope you enjoyed today's card! Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Blog later this afternoon to be blown away by a load of inspiration from the Design Team and to have a chance to win a prize!

If you are out and about trick-or-treating tonight - be safe!

Happy Stampin!

Shimmer Bean

Hi Stampers -

Sorry for the super late post tonight. I spent most of the day moving my office and computer to another room in the house to make it more "user friendly" for the family. AKA ... I can work as late as I need without keeping my husband awake!

I want to say that my thoughts and prayers are with those on the East coast! I have family in Carlisle,PA so we have been checking with them on how things are going. I hope that the storm passes quickly!

Olivia, whose card I am sharing today, is on the East coast as well so my heart, and thoughts are with her and her family as well!

I think that this card is super sweet! The colors are so bright and beautiful and that ribbon rose is GORGEOUS! Can you belive that Olivia made that?!?! It is awesome! This card makes me yearn for summer! This adorable little fairy is called Shimmer Bean from The Greeting Farm and those gorgeous butterflies are the C.C. Designs Cutters Die called Butterflies.

Hope that you enjoyed Olivia's beautiful card today! Please keep Olivia, and everyone that is affected by this nasty storm in your thoughts and prayers!

Stay Safe East Coast Friends!

Happy Stampin!

Now on to today's blast of inspiration from our talented Design Team! Here we go....

Marcy Dangcil

Marcy's card is so cute and is perfect for those who have a "warmer" Christmas than we do here in Iowa! Marcy's coloring is so pretty and I love her hair especially! Great shading and the pearl halo is perfect! I also love how she used the Flourish Die-Namics so it looks like fancy stems and leaves for those pretty flowers. Beautiful job!

Holly Flores
Echo Park Paper - This and That

I always love it when Holly pulls out her airbrush! She does such an awesome job with it! This adorable image was colored with copics and then airbrushed. I love how Holly created the shadow around the main image and created a ground for her to stand on. I love the simple layout that Holly chose which is perfect. How cute are those candi dots?? LOVE the way Holly used one in the flower center too!

Lydia Walker
Lawn Fawn - Sally's ABC

I am always drawn to Clean and Simple cards because they really challenge me! I have a hard time leaving plain white space on my cards that I do, so I envy those that pull it off so perfectly like Lydia! How adorable is this? I LOVE the cute, simple design that you can whip out when you need a card in a hurry. I love the little touch of bling that Lydia added to her fire also. Tooo cuuuute!

Shanna Shands
Kraftin Kimmie Stamps - Magical Mathilda

This is such an awesome Halloween card! Those papers are gorgeous and Shanna's coloring is just jaw-droppingly perfect! I love the simple layout and how it makes the main image just pop. What a super fun image too. This is one of my favorite Halloween images from Kraftin Kimmie and is on my "I Need This" list! You could use this for many occasions by just paper piecing the book and popping other images over the pumpkins! You could do cupcakes for birthdays, snowflakes for winter cards, hearts for Valentines Day - lots of ideas... I need this stamp now - LOL! Love it!

Katie Skiff

This is SOOOO CUTE!! Katie's coloring is also jaw-droppingly gorgeous! She colored this perfectly and I love the little touches of red on the nurse's outfit. I also love the layout and the fishtail piece with the ribbon on top too. That is a hilarious sentiment - LOL! I think Katie made this for all of our design team member's this week because most of us have been either not feeling well ourself, or have had a crazy week with life throwing curve balls, hectic schedules or all of it together - LOL!

I hope you enjoy the Design Team's cards as much as I did this week! All the ladies did an amazing job and I loved all the variety this week! AWESOME JOB LADIES!!

Don't forget to leave the Design Team some love here on this post and you could be our lucky winner next week!

Have a great day!

Dear Santa...

Happy Saturday!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. Mine is going to be filled with work, and not the stamping or my store kind, so it won't be that fun. Hopefully your's is much more exciting than mine!

Saturday is Jacqueline's Inspiration Day and she has been sharing some gorgeous Christmas creations with us! Here is this week's beauty....

This was created using a new stamp set from Flourishes called Dear Santa. We do have this stamp set in but not listed in the store yet. I am hoping to get a bunch of new items, this stamp set included, listed starting Sunday evening and Monday. Those beautiful papers are from My Minds Eye. We have some of their Christmas papers ordered and they should be here next week. Jacqueline did a beautiful job with the colors and the layers of holly and pine cones. I had to giggle when I read her design process because she called this an "easy peasy" Christmas card! It would take me all day to make something with this much detail - LOL!

Don't forget to get your name in for this week's Blog Candy! Just leave a comment on our Sensational Sunday Inspirations post and you may be our lucky winner!

If you are doing some shopping in the store be sure to take advantage of our sale...

Too Cute to Spook

Happy Holly-Day!

LOL - I love saying that! Every Friday we feature an adorable project from Holly and today's cutie is no exception!

This is one of the super cute La La Land images that we have available for preorder right now called Flying Witch Marci. It wouldn't arrive in time for Halloween, but it would be so cute to accent your scrapbook pages with! Holly did such an amazing job coloring her up to match that gorgeous background paper! I LOVE that spooky tree peeking out! Those awesome filigree corners are one of the dies from La La Land too that we will stock in the future :)

While you are busy finishing your Halloween projects - show them off in our Halloween Themed Loves Rubberstamps Challenge!

Sweet Santa Bear

Hi Stampers!

It is time for some Saturday Inspirations from Jacqueline! She has been working hard on her Christmas cards and lucky us ... we get to see some!

I think this is one of my favorite Christmas cards Jacqueline has made so far! I am a HUGE Teddy Bear fanatic and have a huge Cherished Teddies collection which these sweet Popcorn Bears remind me off. Jacqueline used the super cute Santa Bear stamp from the Popcorn Collection by Crafter's Companion.

I love the date that Jacqueline added using the Tim Holtz Alpha cards. It reminds me of this sweet little Santa bear looking at the Calendar and getting all dressed up to deliver gifts because it is the special day :)

I also love this color combo of Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze! Adorable ♥

Hope you have a safe and stampy weekend!

Hope Quilt

Hi Stampers!

This week at The Cutting Cafe we are recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness so our assignment was to create a project using any of the Breast Cancer files. There are quite a few really neat ones available! I used two of the printable stamp sets on my project, the Think Pink and You Gotta Have Hope .

I knew I wanted to make a quilt card when we were given this assignment. Quilt cards are one of my favorite cards to make. Quilts just remind me of strength, warmth, and compassion... all things that are invaluable traits when you are battling this disease yourself, or being a support for someone who is. The pink ribbons on my quilt are from the Think Pink printable stamp set. I loved that this set came with designs in both black and also in pink. I printed the pink version of the ribbon squares. I sponged all the edges of my quilt pieces with Pretty in Pink ink from Stampin Up! The "Hope" sentiment and the sentiment on the inside of my card are both from the You Gotta Have Hope.

Here is a peek at the inside:

The designer paper I used is from Melissa Frances called Support and it is also a breast cancer design. I punched the "a" from this same paper and my number 4 is from the Simple Stories - Baby Steps 6x6 paper pack. I wanted to have the saying "Hope 4 a Cure" on my project. My grandma is currently battling this disease for the second time so this was an assignment close to my heart.

Hope you enjoyed today's card! Be sure to visit the inspirational post on The Cutting Cafe Blog later today to see how the other Design Team members projects and for your chance to win some prizes.

Happy Stampin!

Signs you are TOO OLD....

to Trick or Treat!

That is the theme of my card for our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge this week! Our challenge is to use the Out of The Box Technique which is really fun. We also have a special guest sponsor this week... KennyK so our Design Team all used his fun images for our inspirational creations :) I love KennyK and we do carry his rubber stamps in our store!

When I first saw this super cute Trixxie Treat digi stamp from KennyK I immediately thought...Whoa! She looks a tad grown up to be out Trick or Treating...LOL! So my card theme was born!

For my card background I used another one of the KennyK Digi Stamps called Haunted House. I just colored in some of the white areas and sponged some Daffodil Delight for my sky. It is hard to read on the picture but on the tombstone I hand wrote the name: Myra Mains in white Gel Pen.

My Trixxie Treat panel uses the Out of the Box Technique where her legs come out of the bottom of my oval die cut. I colored my Trixxie using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers and I had printed her out on the Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth White Cardstock.

Here is a close up of Trixxie...

I wanted the background behind her to look kind of like a moon so I sponged Daffodil Delight and then Pumpkin Pie inks around the oval die. They are both from Stampin Up! I popped this panel up on dimensionals.

Here is a look at the inside of my card which features the "Signs"

Here is a closer look at the Joke

The "Joke" is computer generated. The Happy Halloween sentiment is from the stamp set that comes with the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Spider Web & Matching Stamp Set. I stamped this sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

My Designer Paper is from the Enchanted 6x6 Paper Pack by Authentique. This has some gorgeous designs that can be used for a lot more than just Halloween themed projects!

I hope you got a chuckle out of my card today :) Come play along in our Out Of The Box Challenge! We would love to see your project!

Make Time for Detours...

Hi Stampers -

Today was a pretty tough day. My niece left to begin her basic training and will be gone for 7 months. While we are super proud of her for following this dream of hers it is always hard to say good-bye to someone you care about. This is her first time being away from family so I can imagine how tough it is for her also. I am sure she will do fine and will be focusing on learning her skills, but it still is hard.

Olivia's card is perfect for today...

Olivia used the sweet Molly Makes a Detour from the Uptown Girls Collection from Stamping Bella. I love the fun stitching around the edges and the warm neutral colors. Olivia did a beautiful job coloring this image to match the pretty designer papers as well. Olivia used both copic markers and spectrum noirs to color her image.

This theme of beginning a new journey really fits. And I hope that as my niece, Trista Jo or as we call her... Beaner... begins this new journey that she will have the opportunity to make some detours and enjoy the new places she will see along the way.

We are so proud of you Beaner Jo! We love you and will be thinking of you everyday until you are back at home. Stay strong and kick some bootcamp butt!

Happy Stampin All...

I LOVE this card that Katie created! It is super cute with the colors she chose! Her image is colored perfectly to match the designer papers. That metal flower bling on her hat is the CUTEST! I really love the layout that she used too which is from I ♥ Sketches. Beautiful job Katie!!

OMGosh I don't even know where to start! When I first saw Shanna's card I was blown away by how beautiful it is! Those colors are gorgeous! Shanna did an awesome awesome job coloring her image! Those flowers are so pretty with this color scheme too! This is my absolute favorite card that I have seen created with this stamp! Stunning creation Shanna!!

Spellbinders - Scalloped Circles Die

This is the sweetest card EVER! When Wild Rose Studio first came out with the Bella Collection...this image was my super favorite! Marcy did a GORGEOUS job coloring Bella and her flowers! It matches the paper perfectly and it hard to tell that it is colored, it looks like it should be a printed piece! Her coloring skills absolutely blow me away! When I grow up I want to color like Marcy does - LOL! I love the sweet butterflies and the gorgeous flowers that she added as accents too!

Wow! I love this! This is a simply beautiful clean and simple design that still packs a big WOW! Those long fishtails are stamped with sayings from this same set as well! I love the gold embossing on the edges of the main panel and the ribbon adds that classy, elegant touch!

This is such a cute Welcome Baby card! I love these colors and Olivia paper pieced her Mom perfectly! I love the way that Olivia stamped the sentiment! That layout is perfect and the twine around the panel creates the perfect touch!

OMGosh this is so CUTE! This is one of the projects that Holly got to do when she took her class with Irina Blount. How lucky was Holly? THE LUCKIEST - LOL! This is such a pretty card with the soft summery colors and all of the accents. Holly's coloring on her image blows me away on this! Love all the dots on the hat and pants! That balloon die is gorgeous and is from La-La Land too! We will be adding their dies as a preorder soon!

This is just gorgeous! I love the deep, rich colors that Kelli used to color her Isabella! That fun, funky feather is the coolest accent too! I love the design, a simple layout that really showcases the image! This totally makes me want to try and Cha-Cha but I would probably throw my back out - LOL!

I hope you enjoyed today's inspirations from our Mega-talented Design Team! I LOVE my team and couldn't ask for a better group of ladies to work with!
