So Happy! Friday Inspiration with Athina

Happy Friday!

It's Athina here with a little inspiration to get your weekend started! Today is the last day of February.  Come on spring!  I am ready to get out side and work in the garden, walk the dogs and just play around in the yard.  Whose with me?

Today I used an image that I have had colored for a while.  It did not go with the original card very well, so I set it aside at the time.  But today, I have the perfect use for little Oliver,  The Greeting Farm - Lovey Dovey.  He is stamped with Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.

I used My Minds Eye - Lost & Found Ruby for the background as it matched just perfectly!  The sentiment goes perfect with this handsome little boy!

Supplies used:

Keep in mind our challenge this week at Loves Rubberstamps, we want to see you use washi tape!  Also make sure to check out the new items in the store.  Laura has been teasing us with a bunch of fun new items to come.  So make sure to keep your eyes peeled!

That is it for me today!  I hope you have a fantastic Friday and an even better weekend ahead!

Hugs,
Athina

You still have a few hours left to join us in our Challenge - use a funny sentiment.  Which my card does not depict because I need to send this to someone who has experienced a loss.   Please join us tomorrow for our New Challenge as well.

You also want to take a look through the Loves Rubberstamps Store, so many cute things and Laura has been adding to the New Items.  As soon as I get done studying for tomorrow nights class, I am getting my Sugar Pea stamps inky!  These are on preorder, so you may want to order one... a few.... okay, all of them are so stinkin cute! lol.

Laura is also adding the MFT's items that came out last month and she will add this release soon.   It's so nice that you can come to the store and get as many different stamp companies and items as you want, all in one fell swoop for one shipping price or free if you spend $75.00!

Friday Inspiration with Athina!

Happy Friday!

It's Athina here with a little inspiration to get your weekend started!  I hope your week went well.  The weather was a bit warmer here in Ohio which was nice!  I am very ready for spring, hence the inspiration for the card I want to share with you today.  I am tired of the dark colors, I needed to brighten things up a bit.

So I have used C.C. Designs - Ice Cream Lucy image.  What about this image does not remind  you of spring or summer?  She is colored with copics!  I added some fun tickets, twine, button and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers for embellishments.  (A list of supplies can be found at the bottom for reference.)  I used a creamy yellow cardstock as the base, for a bit of sunshine!

Supplies used:

C.C. Designs- Be Happy Sentiments (one of my favorites)
Stampers Anonymous (soon to be added to the store!)

Keep in mind our challenge this week at Loves Rubberstamps, we want to see a funny sentiment!  Also make sure to check out the new items in the store.  Laura has been teasing us with a bunch of fun new items to come.  So make sure to keep your eyes peeled!

That is it for me today!  I hope you have a fantastic Friday and an even better weekend ahead!

Crafty Sentiments Designs - SNEAK PEEK!

Hi Stampers!

Today I have a cute SNEAK PEEK for you at one of the new release stamps coming from Crafty Sentiments Designs!

This cutie is called Prom Dress and she will be available for purchase on Feb. 22nd:

I decided to try one of the projects that has been on my "MUST TRY SOMEDAY" list and that is a Faux Book Card or Book Shadow Box, whichever you want to call it! I am pretty happy how it turned out...here are some other pictures to show the different sides...

If you want to create a Faux Book here are the instructions:

Cut the cardstock for your cover at 5 1/4" x 9 1/2" and then score it at 4 1/4" and 5 1/4"
The Designer Paper for the cover is cut at 4" x 5"
The Designer Paper for the Spine and inside spine is cut at 3/4" x 5"

To create your book pages you will need to cut:
2 cardstock pieces that measure 4" x 10"
2 cardstock pieces that measure 5" x 10"

You are going to score all four of these every 1/2" to the very end.
To create the book pages - take each piece and accordion fold these back and forth - be sure
to use your bone folder between each fold to get nice, crisp folds.
After you have the piece all folded - sponge the edges with ink if you wish.

Then take one long piece and one short piece and "marry" them so they make a right angle,
sliding them together so the pages alternate. Glue the outside flaps to hold the pages in place.
Add the other long and short end to create your book pages, gluing each outside flap together
until you have a full rectangle.

Place your decorated insert onto the inside back cover and then glue your book pages over it.
To create the decorated top of the pages, just cut strips of cardstock and punch one edge.
Glue down on top of the book pages, miter the corners of the two top strips in you wish.

Then just decorate as you want!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to visit the INSPIRATION BLOG and see MORE Sneak Peeks from the other Design Team Members!

Let's Play

Hi Stampers!

Today starts a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs and this week is EVERYONE'S FAVORITE...ANYTHING GOES!

For my project I decided to use the adorable My Best Friend rubber stamp and created a little outdoor scene with some clouds and grass...

I really like how the scene turned out! I am not sure how I feel about the letters though! I used the Thickers letters and they were plain sand colored so I colored them with the More Mustard Stampin Up marker which is supposed to match the cardstock I used but it was a lot darker than I wanted.

Here is a close up of my image:

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week...remember it is ANYTHING GOES so no matter what crafty project you make...you can enter the challenge and there is a great prize this week so you will want to play along!

I will hopefully be back later today with another project for you for this week's new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge...be sure to check back later :)

Have a great day!
Laura

Sending Thanks

Happy Monday!

It's my turn to post some inspiration for you today.  I got up early yesterday just to make this one.

I don't know about you, but I can't seem to ever have enough Thank You cards on hand.  I need to make a dozen of these up, lol.  I love the Postage Die because the middle cuts out as well as the sides, so you can mix and match your papers with this.  The stamp sets are a perfect combination with these dies.  I recommend having both!  The Cheverons are different sizes and styles in each set.  I also love the coverage I get with Memento ink and since they are safe for my Copic Markers when I use them, I am safe!  lol.

I hope you feel inspired by my card and you have the holly-day off to get inky!  I know I do!  And while you are at it, you can join us in our current challenge - paper piece!

I had a little help with my card photo's today:

Dora the Explorer

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments!

Holly

This has been a super busy week for me trying to get caught up with emails and shipping after the funeral last week. I wanted to say that I am excited to have signed up for a copic coloring class being taught by my color idol - Alyce from Kit and Clowder! She has recently launched a new website and she will be putting on online classes for coloring from beginners to advanced! I am super excited since it would be tough to fly to Australia to take them in person :)

I am going to try and find some time tomorrow to tackle my homework...but first I need to just color an image so I can have a "before" picture to compare to the "after" the class is over picture to see my progress :) I will post my before picture after I get it done :)

If you have never watched Alyce's videos she has many free ones listed on her site as well...she is such a great teacher and does a really amazing job explaining things and making it easy to watch what she is doing. I highly recommend her classes! Plus she has an awesome Australian accent so it is fun to listen to her talk as well :D

Marcy's Saturday Inspiration: A "Fall Love" Valentine's Day Card!

Hi Friends and Happy Saturday!  Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday with your loved ones.  I know many of you are continuing this "Sweetheart" celebration this long holiday weekend!  I know I am! :)  So with that in mine, I have a V-Day card to share with you today.

Here it is...

This sweet image is called "Fall Love" which is from the Time for Tea Collection by Whimsey Stamps!  The cute gal could really be used for any occasion but the heart on her outfit made me immediately want to use her for a V-Day card!  After coloring her up with my copic markers, I added some stickles in "Start Dust" to the heart on her pretty sweater.  For my papers, I used the fun "Love Note" collection by Fancy Pants which was perfect for this theme!  The pretty roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.   I can never get enough of using these gorgeous flowers on my projects!  The heart doily peeking out from behind my image as well as the small pearls on the corners are from my stash.

Here are the Supplies Used:
Fall Love - Whimsey Stamps
Love Note - Fancy Pants Designs
Victorian Velvet - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Black Tuxedo-Memento Ink

Oh and I wanted to also share a few more gift bags and also some gift favors I made for Valentine's Day using the We R Memory Keeper Punch boards!  These are so addicting and so easy to make!   I just really love how you don't need to add much since the patterned papers are already so pretty as is!  With these, I just added some die-cuts, some ribbon and voila... instant gifts! :)

Be sure to stop by the Loves Rubberstamps store to see the items used on my card including so many  cute Whimsey stamps to choose from as well as these very popular We R Memory Keeper Punch Boards

Also, make sure to stop by tomorrow for the "Sensational Sunday" blog hop where you can win some fun prizes!  You can also check out our "Paper Piecing" challenge still going on!

Have a wonderful Valentines and holiday weekend!

Hugs
