Tall & Skinny...

Hi Stampers!

I wish I was talking about myself in the title but no such luck! I am more of a short and squatty unfortunately! What I am talking about though is this week's new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge of Skinny Cards! If I can't be skinny...I might as well make my cards skinny - LOL! This week our challenge is to create a card that will mail in a standard business size envelope, which would make your card a 4"x9" card. Tall & Skinny!

Here is my sample...

I absolutely adore the Whimsy Stamps Wee Collection...it is one of my super favorites...and their Christmas images are super cute. You may remember that a few weeks ago we did the Christmas in July challenge and I used the Wee Collection Berry image (you can look at my project here) which was also super cute and I just think that this Holly image is a perfect companion! So YAY me... TWO Christmas Cards made for this year so far! It is a RECORD! LOL!

I colored Miss Holly here with a mix of copic markers and Spectrum Noir. I used my Tim Holtz Distress Walnut Stain to ink the edges. I don't think I can make one project without this! I used Liquid applique and dazzling diamonds on the snow to give it dimension. The Holly Spray I created using the Martha Stewart Branch punch and added 3 little red bling gems. I kept the embellishments simple because this will be mailed in the business envelope. I even used some of my hoarded Stampin Up! paper...yikes! This is my favorite pack of Christmas Paper and this is only the second time I have brought myself to use it! My Sentiment though is from a Simple Stories Paper line called Handmade Holiday.

Here are some close ups of Holly...

And another that I left a little darker so you could see the snow dimension better...

I hope you liked my project and it has inspired you to get Tall & Skinny with us this week! I also want to remind you that there is only one week left to try out for our Design Team! We are looking for all skill levels, and no design team experience is necessary to be considered. Read all about how to apply and requirements here! We would love to have have you try out!

Flowers for your Monday

Happy Monday Friends and Stampers,

Holly here subbing for Laura today.  Olivia has brought up some total cuteness this Monday to brighten our day.  I love this adorable Whimsey Wee Stamp called Amy.  Olivia used some MME & Authentique papers from her stash and colored her up with her Copics.

I love the patterns and colors she has used and her coloring is fabulous.  So I hope you enjoy your flowers for your Monday.

Have you been by the New Items link? I hate to tell you, but Laura has added a ton of new products and most of them were on my wishlist!  So for my birthday, I got money from my Sister and my Husband and boy oh boy did I go to town.  You know what the awful part is?  I still didn't get everything on my list, lol.   If you can imagine that!  So go check it out!!!

Tomorrow starts a new Challenge too and if you know the size of a legal envelope, then you can get a head start!  perfect for the large images or creating a scene.

ALOHA!

Aloha Stampers!

Happy Holly Day Friday! Do you have any exciting plans this weekend? This is my weekend to work, as well as the hubbies so not much fun for us! He will get to race Saturday so we will have a little excitement at least :)

Today's Holly Day Inspiration is super adorable as always! Take a look at this Hawaiian Cutie!

I LOVE this! It makes me feel like breaking out my Bellydance Workout Videos - LOL! That would be a super horrific site to see so it is best to let the Aloha Cutie in Holly's picture inspire you instead of my dancing - LOL!

The colors Holly chose are so pretty and I am LOVING that Modern Morocco Die-Namics Background! Stunning! The flowers and butterfly with the shimmer and pearls are such pretty accents! Makes me want to go to Hawaii! That is on my places I want to visit but to fly there from Iowa is super expensive which is a bummer :(  Maybe someday though :) Have you ever been to Hawaii or any other exotic or tropical places? The extent of my tropical experience is Las Vegas - LOL!

Well...Have a safe and fun weekend! If you get crafty time be sure to use a charm on your project and you can enter it into our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge this week! We have some AWESOME prizes up for grabs for one lucky winner! Come play along!

Turtle Love!

Hi Stampers!

Hope your week is going well so far! Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday - time just flew by! I will save my project for this weekend :)

Today is Thursday which means some cute Inspiration from Ceal!

This is such a cute card, especially for a little one! I think turtles are so adorable, especially the huge Tortoises! One time we went to a zoo when Austin was about 9 or so...anyway this one tortoise LOVED him. He would stick his little head up as far as he could and every time Austin moved he would go as fast as he could over to where he went - it was so funny! I think their faces look like little old men that are super wise. They should be since they live to be 100 years old - LOL! Can you tell I am SUPER TIRED because I am rambling - LOL!

Anyway...back to Ceal's card...these cute Tortoises or Turtles and sentiment are from the Lawn Fawn Year Two Stamp Set. I love the color of cardstock Ceal chose, it makes the turtles really pop!

Well...it is time for me to go home and get some sleep! Be sure to check out all our NEW ITEMS in the store....we have loads more coming too :)

Play along this week in our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge - Adding a Charm...we have a special sponsor of The Paper Shelter this week in addition to the Loves Rubberstamps prize!

Pink Champagne & CAKE!

Hi Stampers!

Today is a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs called BLING IT ON! This week we want you to break out your bling and use it on a project!

This week I decided to try making a cute box that is decorated in the shape of a cake using flower soft and paint. I had seen this cute box designed by Mindy Baxter a long time ago and it has always been on my "to try" list and I thought this week's challenge was perfect for it!

Here is my version...

I decided to make my cake using Blue and Cream colors with a little silver mixed in. I used the adorable Cheers stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs and colored her with my copics. My copic markers bleed through my paper in spots so I placed her on black cardstock and cut out the image leaving a border.

My cake was created using the 3"x3" notecard box tutorial on splitcoaststampers and then I used inspiration from Mindy's cake to decorate. I used FolkArt Metallic Acrylic paint in Blue Pearl, which I will be adding this to our store soon. This is a pretty paint with a silver shimmer. It didn't stay raised like I hoped like Mindy's paint, but it still looks really pretty.

I covered the bottom using Delphinium Blue Flower Soft Sprinkles and created my own flowers using the My Favorite Things Large Rolled Rose Die-Namics to create the cream roses. To created the Rolled Blue flowers I just punched a 1 3/4" circle and cut it in a spiral and rolled it using my Hybrid petal Roller Tool.

Here is a look at the top...

My sentiment tags are from LOTV that I stamped in Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain and my large center flower I created using the My Favorite Things Loopy Bloom Die-Namics. This flower I made using a cream colored felt. This is one of my FAVORITE Dies! LOVE IT! My bling flourishes on top are from prima.

Here is a close up of my beautiful Cheers image from Crafty Sentiments Designs...

I think this is a super cute box that you can put a little gift in for someones birthday! I hope you play along with us this week and get your bling on!

Thanks for stopping by! I will be sharing my Inspirational Piece for this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge of Using a Charm on tomorrow's post, but feel free to play along before then :)

For the Our Daily Bread Challenge that I am entering this into ... I used this cake for Inspiration...

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Holly here, subbing for Laura.  I could not let this Total Cuteness Tag go another minute unpublished! lol.  This is from our very talented Designer Olivia.  I could just look at this all day long and never get tired of the adorable image which is a  Bildmarana stamp.  I love the coke bottle top she added and all the stunning details in this tag.  She is colored with Copic Markers.

Now I have one of these adorable Bildmarna Stamps around here somewhere, lol.  I am now inspired to undig her out of the stack I have going on, on top of my desk and color her up.  Thanks for the Inspiration Olivia.  You are amazing!!!

Let's Get RETRO!

Happy Holly-Day Friday Stampers!

The weekend is ALMOST here YAY! I actually have this weekend off so I am excited. Well kind of...I do have to work a few hours Sunday on my day off reviewing some EMD calls but the rest of the weekend is all mine! Now...what to try and tackle first will be my first problem to solve - LOL! I have LOTS I want to get done so hopefully I can squeeze it all in!

We did get some news yesterday...the bank FINALLY got the appraisal back on our house, so now hopefully we can get the refinancing paperwork signed and get it closed SOON! I want this mess behind us! We only have one more month for our extension so it is freaking me out a little! I am hoping next week we can get it done!

Today Holly created a super adorable card to share with you using one of the Riley and Company Retro Folks Collection images! This line is soooo fun and cute! We have just got these in the store this week :)

This is so CUTE! Coffee stamps are one of my hoards favorites! This image is called Midge With Coffee and it is one of my favorites from this collection. Of course it is ...it has COFFEE - LOL! I love the paper pieced cup and how Holly did the make up on her Midge!!  The papers, colors and little accents are all adorable!

Speaking of COFFEE - have you tried the new Girl Scout Creamer?? I have been indulging in a Chocolate Caramel Brownie flavored coffee and putting the Girl Scout Coconut & Caramel (like the Samoa cookies) creamer in it....SO GOOD! I also bought some of the Thin Mint Creamer to try :) That will be next - LOL! What is your favorite coffee flavor?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! If you get crafty time...whip out your Christmas Stamps and play along in this week's Christmas in July Challenge! We have some awesome prizes to give away!
Be sure to try out for our Design Team also! We will be having some openings to fill for our September - December term :)

Rainy Days...

Hi Stampers!

Hope you are all having a great week so far! I don't know how your weather has been but here it has been HOT, HOT, HOT!! I don't mind the hot but here we get the nasty humidity to go with it which makes it feel like a steam shower. But I shouldn't complain...I will take the heat and humidity over a cold, winter day anytime!

Today we get to see a super adorable card created by Ceal!

Is this sweet or what? I love this layout and the way Ceal paper pieced both the outfit, boots and the umbrella! The embossing and the cute doily are perfect accents!! This is so cute and would brighten anyone's day who is feeling a bit blue. Love it!

Here are the products Ceal used on her card:

Pure Innocence (MFT), Bo Bunny design paper, Copic sketch markers

Christmas in July!

Hi Stampers!

We are celebrating Christmas in July this week for our Loves Rubberstamps Challenge! I LOVE Christmas stamps and papers and need to make Christmas cards throughout the year so I can actually send some homemade ones out - LOL!

Here is my very first Christmas card of the year...YAY!

I absolutely LOVE this image! This is the Wee Stamps Berry from Whimsy Stamps! She is so much fun to color and I love how this turned out! I colored her with a mix of spectrum noir markers and copic markers. This is a new hair color that I saw and I totally love it and will be using is more :) It is E25, E31 & E50.

I decided to go ALL OUT on this one and decorate the inside of my card too. I love the look of the cards when the insides are decorated also and am going to try and do this more often! I think it really takes the card to the next level. Besides when the outside is super beautiful, I would think you would want the inside to be just as pretty.

Here is how I decorated the inside...

I placed the sentiment on the upper flap and that way I had a writing space on the bottom to hand write a note and sign the card. I kind of like this way of doing the inside, but it will be a bugger to mail! Might be hand delivering cards this year...LOL!

Here is a closer look at my sentiment which is from a Stampin Up! Set called Many Merry Messages.

And here is a close up of my sweet little Berry!

I hope you will dust off your Christmas stamps and play along with us this week!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Cupcake Cutie Pie

Hi Stampers!

Happy Monday! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I go back to work tonight after enjoying 6 amazing days off! It was so nice, peaceful and relaxing...even though I didn't get hardly anything done that I wanted to - LOL! I think that is usually how things go. Oh well...it was nice to just relax a bit :)

You know what Monday's mean on the blog .... OLIVIA'S DAY! Yep! Today we have another awesome Inspirational project to share with you designed by Olivia :)

How adorable is this? This is one of my favorite C.C. Designs images - Cupcake Birgitta! I love how she is balancing all those yummy cupcakes - LOL! Here is my Inspirational Piece for you today...

This card is called a Shaped Double Tag Card. It creates double pouches so you can add a tag in each slot. I only created one insert because I made it as a Get Well Card and I thought it would be cute in the upper pocket to add a packet of Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup :)

For the outside I used the Tilda In Key Largo Stamp from the Magnolia Stamps Summer Memories Collection. I actually have this collection in and will be adding it to our store later this week. I have a few other things I need to finish listing in there first :) I colored it with my copics and created the sky. I tried to add some purple and pinks into my clouds this time. I chose the designer paper because it looked like little Suns and I wanted it to remind you of a hot summer day at the beach! My Waves were created using the My Favorite Things Wave Die-Namics and the Die on the front is Spellbinders.

Here is a look at the Insert out. For this one I used the Magnolia Stamp called Pearl Tilda which is also from the Summer Memories Collection. This is one of my favorite series :) I tried something new with her hair which is adding some teal to the brown. Here is a closer look...

I got a tad carried away with my doodle dots on her tail - LOL!

Here is a close up of my Cover Image:

Out of My Comfort Zone...

Hi Stampers!

Well after about 3 hours of trying to organize my craft disaster and find my desk...I finally found it! Good thing because I have lots of projects to get made because I want to get ahead a little bit :)

Here is what I made for your Inspiration today...

This card is totally out of my style element - LOL! I normally do not use the bright, bold colors but I saw a challenge on Anyone For Anya to create a card based on this inspiration photo...

When I saw this I immediately thought of the Anya Blooms stamp from The Greeting Farm because of the flowers. I also thought that the color scheme of kraft, burgundy, orange, and dark and light pinks was intriguing. So I thought I would try it out! I don't think it turned out to bad! That is one of the fun things about challenges! Sometimes it is fun to go outside your comfort zone a little and try something new! I never would have put these colors together on my own. My Sentiment is from the Anya Celebrates stamp set.

For my layout I used the sketch from this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge...

Anyway...I hope you were not too blinded by my Bright, Bold, Summer colors - LOL! What do you think of my Blonde Hair color? I have never tried coloring blonde hair with my copics because I don't have many colors yet so I just kind of grabbed a few that looked "Blondish" and went with it - LOL! I kind of like it - more of a golden strawberry blonde.

Here is one last look at my Anya...

Thanks for stopping by! also... Don't forget about our DESIGN TEAM CALL!

A REEL Expert!

Hi Stampers!

Happy Holly-Day Friday! Well....Guess who fell asleep on the couch last night, literally within 15 minutes of laying down?? YEP! ME! I fell asleep about 8:15 and of course slept until 3am this morning and am now up...wide awake...lol! I think I will work on the computer awhile then maybe head down to to my craft disaster and try and find my desk to get some Design Team Projects made! I seriously need to work on my craft room so I can start using it one of these days! Always too many things to do - LOL - sometimes it is hard to figure out where to start! But crafting out of boxes and piles gets annoying sometimes and it probably would take me HALF as long to make stuff if I wasn't losing things I need on my desk because it is so messy, or my piles falling over when I try and move anything - LOL! If you are a paper crafter you probably know EXACTLY what I am talking about - LOL!

Holly was able to find her desk and create this absolutely adorable card for your Friday Inspiration...

I LOVE it! I really love how Holly used the Instaframe to make it like a little polaroid. That Designer paper is PERFECT too! I don't think could get any cuter! Such an adorable way to start the weekend!

In case you haven't heard yet....we are having a DESIGN TEAM CALL so be sure to get your application in :) We are having three positions open up!If you have always wanted to be on a super fun team and craft with a bunch of talented paper artists....be sure to apply :) We have two different ways...either by email or through you creating a blog post.

Have a great weekend and Happy Stampin!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon at Grandma's because I had lined up having the Pink Heals Tour stop by her house as a surprise! They brought two pink fire trucks and the Pink Heals RV and brought Grandma flowers. They were even carnations which are her favorite :)

Here are some pictures...

She really enjoyed herself! We also got an exciting proposition from the CEO of the tour...they wanted to know if we would wrap our race car in the Pink Heals theme! So we took the car to a wrap guy today and they will be creating a design! I will post pictures of the race car when it is done :) Should be pretty cool!

Anyway ... on to why you stopped by today...to see Ceal's adorable card!

Lawn Fawn ~ Interlocking Backdrops & Dad's Day
Distress inks

Ceal created this cute clean and simple design that is so adorable. I love the pretty teal blue color and the way she did the backdrop. This would make a great masculine style card as well!

I think I am going to take a cue from Ceal's card and go relax on the couch for awhile. Hopefully I won't fall asleep...LOL! I will hopefully get some new things in the store later this evening...as long as I stay awake - LOL!  :)

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

DESIGN TEAM CALL

Hi Stampers!

We are going to have 3 positions opening up for our  Loves Rubberstamps Design Team Term from September 1st - December 31st and would LOVE to have you try out!

Requirement would be two projects per week along with a corresponding blog post featuring your projects.

One of these projects will be for our weekly challenge blog which has a new challenge every Tuesday. You will need to have this project completed by Sunday for that week's challenge. You will need to showcase this project on your blog on Tuesday and provide links to our challenge blog and to the products you used linked to our store. You do get a list of the challenges in advance if you like to work ahead.

You will also be required to leave comments for our blog challenge participants. These will be assigned.

The second project can be anything you wish to make and is an inspirational post. This will be for our "Sunday Spectacular Blog Hop" post. This is where we will feature works from multiple designers and do a blog hop to each Designers Blog. You will need to post this project on your blog on a scheduled time on Sunday with links to the company store for the products you used.  It may also be featured on our company facebook page and also in our store as a sample for the products used. This project will need to be completed by Friday of each week for that Sunday's post.

Our only requirement for projects is that you MUST use stamps from companies that we carry that are in their CURRENT line - no retired images. We are still growing our inventory so even if the particular stamp is not in our product line up yet... as long as it is one we can order - you can use it. We are always adding new companies and products as quickly as we can.

You must also display our store badge with a link to our store, design team badge and links to the team members websites on your blog, and our blog badge for the challenge blog with a link to that site while being a member

We do have a couple of challenge sponsors who require us to use their stamps the week that they are the sponsor on our challenge site.In these cases they will provide a digi stamp to use so you will need to be able to use a digi stamp if necessary.

Our last requirement is to HAVE FUN!

Design Team Members will receive the following:

A 30% Discount off all items we carry in our store (there are a couple of exceptions) during your term

Your projects being featured on the Company Blog, Challenge Blog, Company Facebook Page and in the store as well as links provided to your blog.

Links to your blog from the company blog page, challenge blog site as well as from each design team member's websites

We do allow our Design Team Members to serve on other Design Teams as long as it does not interfere with your commitment to our team. We also allow a design team member to do multiple posts in a day if needed. For example - you serve on 2 teams, each requires a Tuesday Post, you would do one blog post for our company, then a seperate one for your other team.

To apply... You can create a Blog Post telling us a little about yourself and why you would like to be on the team and share some of your at least 3 of your favorite projects with us THEN link your blog post up to Mr. Linky in this blog post...

OR you can also send an email with the following information to lovesrubberstamps@yahoo.com with Design Team in the Subject Line

Please include in your email:

Name

A little bit about yourself

Any current or past Design Team Work (you do not need experience to qualify)

Your blog address and any other online galleries that show your work

And include pictures or links of 3 of your favorite projects

Deadline for applying will be AUGUST 4th. We will then be making our selections by August 11th and notifying our choices by August 17th.

Please only apply if you are able to make the full commitment to the terms and the team.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration! Don't hesitate to contact us with questions also!

Christmas in JULY!

Hi Stampers!

We are celebrating CHRISTMAS IN JULY at Crafty Sentiments Designs this week! I LOVE all things Christmas and in fact....I am a total Christmas Stamp Hoarder. If It has a Cute Snowman, A Cute Santa, A Cute Reindeer, A Cute Penguin, Cute Bears...well you get the snowdrift....I NEED it - LOL!

This week the Design Team got to play with ONE of the super cute 25 yes you saw that correct 25 New Release Christmas Images! EEEK! Super excited for these!

Without further ado....here is my Christmas Project for this week's Challenge Inspiration!

I created a Nugget Box that holds those super yummy Hershey Chocolate Nuggets :) I have to admit these are my favorites and I had to buy TWO bags of the Extra Creamy Toffee ones...so I could nibble on one bag, and use the other bag for my project - but don't tell Santa that :D That is why I chose this sentiment because the chocolate might not last long :)

Here is a peek at the inside of my Nugget Box.

Don't those chocolates look delicious so pretty wrapped up in the Christmas paper? I just added some sparkly stickers for the letters and some dimensional stickers for the decorations.

These nugget boxes make awesome gifts and you can really use them for any occasion by just changing the words and the decorations. There is a lady on Splitcoaststampers that has created a post that shares the dimensions to make about any size box from both an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and a 12x12 sheet! Here is a link to the post.

Here is a close up of my image:

I colored this using copic markers. To create the texture on Santa's fur trim...I used liquid applique and before heating it up, I covered it in dazzling diamonds glitter. Then when you heat it, it has a shimmer and the texture is a little different then using it plain. You can't really see the glitter on it in the picks but you can in person. Then after doing that area I squiggled a thin layer of plain liquid applique for Santa's beard, mustache and eyebrows :) I love this image - it was super fun to color and adorable too :)

Now... be sure to check out the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration Blog where they are showcasing a bunch of the new Christmas images this week! The Design Team really went all out and created some stunning projects! They are also giving away a 2 Month Guest Design Team Term each day of the release also! How exciting!

So... Dust off your Christmas Stamps and come join the challenge this week! If you play along you have the chance to win this cutie....

But first you have to play along!

Watermelon Cutie & DESIGN TEAM CALL!

Hi Stampers!

Today is Tuesday which means a brand new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge! This week we are asking you to break out some hoarded supplies and GASP....actually USE THEM! Maybe it is special embellishment, ribbon, papers, or maybe you hoard it all! LOL! Whatever it is we want to see it :)

Here is my project:

This week one of our sponsors is All That Scraps. Christine asked our team to use a couple of the new release Swiss Pixies - Abigail With Watermelon or Pinwheel Brigitta. So you will notice that the team used one or both of these images on their projects this week!

I used the adorable Abigail with Watermelon. I wanted to keep my card, CAS, cute and with a country feel so that was the basis for my color scheme. Actually it is one of my super favorite combos...which you probably figured out since I have used it in like my last 3 or 4 projects - LOL! Cherry Cobbler & Crumb Cake, and sometimes Early Espresso mixed in.

The hoarded supply item I used is my Stampin Up! Crochet Lace Trim Victoria. I only have a few twists on my spool left so I have to use it sparingly! I need to buy like a case of it because I could seriously use it on everything I make - LOL! I LOVE it!  I layered my red gingham ribbon on the top of it here.My Sentiment is from the Wild For Watermelon stamp set from Flourishes.

Here is a close up of Miss Abigail:

Sorry my picture looks a little washed out. I had to take it at night and my lighting is not the greatest. Plus I had literally like 10 minutes to edit and upload to make it to work on time! I will try and take some better pics in the morning.

In some other news on the store front... for our next Design Team Term - September 1st - December 31st we will sadly be saying good-bye to 3 of our amazing Design Team Members! While it makes us really sad to have to say good-bye we know that they will not be far away on blog land and we will have the opportunity to design with THREE new Designers! So we are having a DESIGN TEAM CALL! You can see all the details on this blog post here... DESIGN TEAM CALL.

We hope that you will apply and we look forward to seeing all the applications!

Thanks for stopping by! Now...break out those hoarded supplies and play along with us :)
