Hope! Friday Inspiration with Athina

Hello Friends!

It's Athina here, so that means we have made it to the end of the week!  Friday is finally here!  It is also the end of January.  Where did the month go?  My goodness, it flew by so quick.  I can say it has been a very cold and snowy winter here and I am more than ready for spring.  So there leads to my title....Hope!  I am hoping that spring arrives very quickly this year!

I colored up this little cutie, Tiddly Inks - Fairy Tenderhearted, with copics and used Spellbinders - Labels 24 to cut out the image.  The shape ended up being perfect.  I used Simple Stories - Fabulous & My Mind's Eye for my background.  I think she looks so delicate that I used some Wild Orchid Flowers and lace to finish her off.  Then added a ticket "Hope" as I thought it fit the image perfectly!

Don't forget to stop by the Loves Rubberstamps store to see all the fun stuff!   Also, be sure to stop by and play in our challenge this week!  It's very easy, all you have to do is use lace.  That is it for me today.  Have a fabulous weekend!

Hugs,
Athina

I ♥ Chocolate

Hi Stampers -

Just a quick post from me this afternoon to share my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe. This week was all about ... KISSES! HERSHEY's KISSES that is! This week we could chose from an assortment of files that all had to do with those yummy chocolate treats :)

Now...when we were given this assignment I was torn between two of my favorite Mo Manning images that both would go perfectly with this theme. So what do you do when you can't decide? USE BOTH!

So I decided to make a Criss Cross Card that way I could have one on the outside and one on the inside :)

I used the HERSHEY KISS SHAPED CARD TEMPLATE for the large Kiss on the front of my card. Instead of making the shaped card I used it as a layer on my card. I wanted the kiss to look like someone ripped some of the paper off and took a bite out of it - LOL....maybe the culprit is little Ms. Chocolate Face! My sentiment is from the Hershey Kiss Treat Box File.

Here is a look at the inside insert:

This cute image is another Mo Manning image that is available through her Penny Black line called Kisses. I wanted the inside to kind of look like an evelope so I cut up two different sentiments from the Hershey Shaped Card File and placed them around the image. My little postage style stamps are from a little Bo Bunny set called Prairie Chic Collection Clear Stamps. If you notice on the insert in the bottom right corner and also on the large Hershey Kiss on the front - those little circle punch images are from the Hershey Kisses Valentine Bottoms.

And finally a look at the whole thing...

Thanks for stopping by today! I better get this posted :) Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Inspiration Blog to see how my Design Teamies used their files!

Hugs!
Laura

Such a Lovely Day

Hi Stampers!

Today we start a new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge! This week our Design Team coordinator Holly chose our theme - to use lace on your project! My favorite kind of lace to use is the crochet lace, so pretty!

This week we also have a special Guest Sponsor - Crafty Sentiments Designs...so I have chosen to use another one of my rubber stamps that I have not had a chance to get inky yet :)

This cutie is called Springtime Kaye! I love her flowing hair and cute button nose :) This is an awesome image to practice your copic marker skills on because it has very nice wide areas and the hair is wavy but had nicely divided sections. So it would be great for someone of all levels of coloring skills.

I decided to practice my cloud making and grass as well. I kind of like how they turned out. For my clouds I used W0 to map out my cloud shapes, then then added some W1 and then dotted my main sky color - BG00 at the bases, then to do the sky I just streaked the BG00 from the image out to the side and then because my BG000 was dry as a bone and would not one little streak of color...I just used my blender pen to go from the outside in to soften the edges and make a little gradient. All in all I think it turned out pretty good! I haven't practiced doing clouds very much so I am still learning.

I wanted to keep my embellishments simple and I just let the sentiment on my paper do the work for me :)

Here is a close up of cute Miss Kaye...notice I paper pieced her overalls :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to play along in our USE LACE CHALLENGE!

Happy Times

Hello Friends and Stampers,

It's time for another Holly-Day Monday.  Today I made something a bit different for me.  But I had a lot of fun with it, so that is what counts huh?

Authentique Curiosity Collection

Did I buy that paper just to use with the inside dies?  Yes I did! lol.   I wasn't sure how I was going to use it, but I had to have it.  I'm glad I bought it now and finally used them.  I LOVE them.  The Time Pieces and Timeless set has so many different ways you can use them together.  It's unreal.  When I stamped up the numbers, I inked only the numbers and not the center because I knew I wanted to use my cogs in the middle.  So that worked out well.  I could have possibly inked it up lighter for decor, but I wanted the colors and die-cuts to stand out.  And wow, this is so colorful, lol.

Dies are one of my weaknesses, lol.  I buy them and collect them, go through them all from time to time just to refresh my memory and sometimes just looking at them brings me some mojo.

I made this card for a thank you card I need to send to someone who helped make my son's recent birthday perfect.  Part of my New Years Resolution was to make cards to send or give to someone in particular.  And since it's still January, I am in good shape, lol.

I hope you have found something here that inspires you.  Remember, you have a few hours left to play in our current challenge to case yourself or a DT member.  And tomorrow starts a whole NEW Challenge!!!   With great prizes to win and it's always fun to play along.  Be sure to look at the NEW ITEMS listed in the store.  I know Laura has tons and tons of new stamps to add!

Thanks for checking in on us.

Marcy's Inspiration Day Steampunk Style!

Hello Friends! It's Marcy here and I wanted to share some Saturday inspiration with you all!

I was so happy to finally create something with this adorable image by La La Land Crafts called "Steampunk Marci".   Isn't she so adorable?!!!  I just love the whole "Steampunk" look which takes me back to my love of the vintage and grunge style when I first started crafting.  I colored up cute Marci with my copics and had a lot of fun doing this.  I actually took inspiration from the stamp set sample itself because I really love the teal and brown combo together.  And as you can tell, I went all out with this "Steampunk" theme using the Steampunk heart cogs and the Steampunk corner dies also from LLLC.  I have to say that I have always been a fan of their images but I'm really loving all of the beautiful dies they have as well!  They are always so unique and they cut so easily.  The papers I used are from one of my hoarded collections by Bo Bunny called "Gabrielle".  These are such gorgeous papers and the colors were perfect for my card.  I also had a lot of fun distressing the papers which I have not done in so long! Great mental therapy! LOL I love the sentiment "Dare to Dream" which also comes with this fun stamp set.  I cut it out using the Stitched Tabs Die by La La Land Crafts.  Finally, I decided to add some rolled roses from the DP using the Mini Rolled Roses Die by MFT.  I added some pearls to the centers and thought they came out pretty cute!

What Gives? Athina's Inspiration Day

Good Day Crafty Friends!

It's Athina here to share a little bit of Friday Inspiration with you!  How did your week go?  I hope all is well and you are ready for a nice relaxing weekend.  Maybe get those stamps out and come to join our weekly challenge.  This week we have a super fun challenge to CASE a DT member.  So get to looking and come on over.

The card I have to share today would be a super easy card to CASE.  I used Make It Crafty - Snowelf which is colored with copics.  I added some stickles in the background to give a hint of snow.  I also inked the background a bit with  Iced Spruce - Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The image is simply cut out and matted with black cardstock.  The background papers are by My Mind's Eye and Simple Stories.  I simply broke the two with a strip of black ribbon.  Then I added a tag which is stamped with background lettering in Brushed Corduroy Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The sentiment, by Sweet November,  is perfect for this image.  I think being packed in snow would really change your perspective. lol....

Supplies used:
Simple Stories - Handmade Holidays

Don't forget to stop by the Loves Rubberstamps store to see all the fun stuff!   That is it for me today.  Have a fabulous weekend!

CASE-ing the place!

Hi Again!

If you are looking for my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe, just scroll down or click here.

I am doing this second post today because I wasn't able to get my Design Team Project for Crafty Sentiments Designs or this week's Loves Rubberstamps Challenge posted yesterday with our internet issues...so this is my YESTERDAY POST :)

This week at Crafty Sentiments Designs the theme is BIRTHDAYS! This is great because I never have enough birthday cards in my stash :) Here is my card:

I haven't had a chance to get this super cute stamp inky yet and when I heard the theme for this week...I knew it was time to color her up! This stamp is called Gipsy Heart. The sentiment is from a stamping bella stamp set but I thought it was perfect for our little fortune teller :)

Now you can't really tell very well in the picture above, but after I colored this with my copics I added some gold glitter pen to her outfit and little dangles on her skirt. I wanted her outfit to look like a shimmery silk. Here are some close ups and a side view to see the shimmer. I also added stickles to the crystal ball, the beads, and her ankle bracelet.

Now this week for the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge we were supposed to CASE one of our own cards or choose one of the Loves Rubberstamps Design Team members to CASE... I chose to CASE one of my own favorite cards...

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by again :) Sorry I wasn't able to post this yesterday!

Laura

Supplies Used to Make the Gipsy Heart Card:
Prima Roses (coming soon)
Tim Holtz Tickets

I will be entering this in the following challenges:

Lil' Sweet Heart - Ruby J.

Hi Stampers!

Seems like F-O-R-E-V-E-R since I have got to post a REAL post! Our internet has been down since last Thursday and just came up yesterday so I have been in a mad rush trying to get everything caught up - emails, orders...crafty posts!

It will be a TWO-POST day for me today because I also need to post my projects that should have been posted yesterday...but first I want to share my Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe.

This week we are starting some Valentine's Day Inspirations and I decided to use TWO of this week's files on my project - Elisha Jean and Friends - With a Big Heart Printable stamp set - I used the Ruby J. image for my card...and for one of my accents on my card I used some of the cute little 2" sized Bingo cards from the Valentine's Day Bingo Printable Stamp Set.

I used some of my Valentine's Day Papers from Authentique Lovely Collection. The Banner is actually the Heart Banner Die from La La Land, but I stamped little letters from the MFT Mini Banner Day Alphabet Stamp Set and then punched them out with a small circle punch and popped them over the heart cut outs with dimensionals. The little hearts that came from the banner I placed on the upper right side of my card. My Big letter B is from the My Favorite Things Vanity License Plate Die and Stamp Set. I sponged all my letters and papers with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain (LOVE THIS STUFF!)

Here is a close up of the little Bingo Cards from the Valentine's Day  Bingo Set:

I really love that these Bingo cards come in different sizes, it really lets you use them in lots of different ways and for many projects outside of Valentine's Day. You could use it for weddings, anniversaries, or just a because I love you project :)

Here is a close up of Lil Miss Ruby J.

I colored her with copics and then added some stickles for a little bling. Isn't she CUTE?!?!?

Well...I better get this submitted as I am super late today as it is... be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Inspiration Blog and see what all the Design Team Members created with this week's super cute files!

I will be back in a little bit with my yesterday project!

Have a great afternoon and thanks for stopping by today!

Hello Baby

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Happy Holly-Day Monday.  I hope this week is starting out really well for everyone.  Did you happen to catch the NFL games on Sunday?  I am so bummed the 49ers are not going to the Superbowl.  So bummed.  But I am a Paton Manning fan, so I will be routing for the Broncho's.  I got up at 5:00 am on Sunday to make my cards this week, lol.  I knew it would be all day Football, so I wanted to have plenty of time to get them done.  I already had an idea of what I was going to do, so that helped.  I made this card in a little over an hour.  It went together super easy.

The card went together so fast because the Blueprints Die-Namics work for themselves.  They are really a no brainer and since there is nothing to measure and plenty to choose from, there are several options for card designs.   They really work when you have pattern papers that are stand alones, or are so bold they kind of dominate the focal point.   This is for a friend who is expecting her first baby.  The colors are more teal and yellow and the flowers lend to a feminine touch without it being all pink and purple, lol.   I just need to find a cute little gift and I'm all ready now.

Have you seen the NEW ITEMS lately?  Laura has added some new Whiff of Joy!!!  I saw this one:
CARING THOUGHTS Rubber Stamp Elisabeth Bell Sympathy Collection from Whiff of Joy
And actually emailed her to add it to an existing order I have, lol.    There is also new MFT preorders:
**PREORDER** New! DIE-NAMICS BLUEPRINTS 11 DIE SET from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps**PREORDER** New! DIE-NAMICS ROSE WITH OVERLAY DIE SET from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps
**PREORDER** New! HEART BALLOONS Clear Stamp Set Die-Namics Companion Collection from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps**PREORDER** New! DIE-NAMICS STAGGERED HEART BORDER DIE SET from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps**PREORDER** New! LOVE IS IN THE AIR Clear Stamp Set Pure Innocence Collection from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps

These are "some" of my preorder items.   Now I want to take a minute and explain what a preorder is.  Laura lists "preorder" items with set DATES that she will be ordering.  I think she will actually extend it a day or two just to make sure everyone gets their orders in on time.  Then she will order from her supplier.  That will have to ship to Laura.  Now Laura has a couple jobs, plus the store.  So unpacking will need to be done on a day off or at some point where she is not working a 12 hour shift.  But her goal and priority is to get her customers their orders ASAP!  So then she has to pack and ship the orders out.  I actually am not expecting these to get to me until sometime in the first week of February.   And I am okay with that.  I know some folks get excited when they don't get a notice in a day or two that their orders are not shipped, but I think they may have missed the preorder notice, or don't realize that an estimated shipping time might take longer due to weather.  So I wanted to just throw that information out there.  I have never not received anything I ordered from Laura and in fact, I usually get my things in the mail before I expected them.

I also preordered some of the Casual Friday Stamps!!!

**PREORDER** EXCLAMATIONS Clear Stamp Set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps**PREORDER** KA-BOOM Clear Stamp Set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps**PREORDER** RAD Clear Stamp Set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps

These are just a few of them that I want, lol.  The order goes in on these preorders in just a few days, so be sure to get yours in fast so you won't have to wait for the next round of preorders.    My Grandson is forever saying, "Like a Boss."  My son uses the word Dude, all the time and I am the OMGawsh, lol.  And who doesn't love to fist bump? lol.

Be sure to join us in our New Challenge tomorrow, or if you are off on this Holly-Day, you have a few more hours to join in on our Metal Challenge

Thanks for Looking in on us!
